4th Jul 2024 (13 weeks ago)Tor Estates dealt with the sale of our parents’ house following their demise, so it was a rather sad time for us. However, Neil and Holly handled the situation with empathy and helped to ease the process. The sale didn’t go as smoothly as was expected due to issues at the bottom of the chain but Holly was “on the case” every day liaising with solicitors etc and keeping us updated. In our opinion they are a very efficient, professional company and we would highly recommend them.

Her black book of related professionals was exceptional and we ended up using the VERY best lawyer and surveyor which was invaluable at keeping stress levels on the low side.

From Grace's first valuation visit to the final conversation on key handover to Helen, every interaction has been the perfect mix of professional and friendly. The plan of how to sell outlined on day 1 was followed and enabled us to have a really slick sales process. I am more than happy to recommend their services. Thanks again to all the Hurfords staff.

It took time but the whole team in the Sherborne office were excellent, always accessible, always friendly and they put a lot of effort to find the right buyer. - which they did. A trustworthy and professional estate agency I don’t hesitate to recommend.

The communication is excellent, I could always talk to a member of the team and staff are proactive in updating and sharing information. Alex and the team have excellent relationships with other local professionals such a solicitors and mortgage brokers which means that the sale and purchase was able to complete promptly. Staff are friendly and respectful and have exceptional knowledge of the local market. The marketing of our home was of excellent quality and they truly took the time to understand our requirements and budget, finding us a new home that we love!
17th Dec 2021 (2 years ago)Terrible customer service, had rats and mice in the house which took them weeks to sort. No credit checks on residents and even had the landlord and his family move in with us for a few weeks while they were renovating the house without any warning. The landlord even verbally attacked me when confronted to which Martin and co did nothing about, instead the evicted me. Terrible experience all round
26th May 2022 (2 years ago)The unique service offered by Griffin has enabled me to complete a DIY sale of my home on the Internet using national property sale platforms as if I was the website. I listed my property at 8am and by 9.30am on the same day I was receiving emails from potential purchaser's. I well know the power of the Internet, but even I was surprised by the speed of it all. The Griffin team have the power to listen and assist you, I wish to thank the person at Griffin who originated this professional service and his team for doing a great job. If I ever need to sell a home in future I will immediately use the Griffin service and have been recommending them to family and friends. Thank you.

18th Mar 2024 (6 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. Isabel Clifton was our main point of contact and managed things with great professionalism from start to finish. She provided a realistic and accurate indication of valuation and, together with the team, dealt with initial marketing, viewings and negotiations extremely well.
15th Aug 2024 (7 weeks ago)If I could give them zero I would. We used Edward’s for about 6 years to manage our rental property. We live abroad so it’s hard for us to ever see our property empty. I managed to see it after 6 years and I cried. Pure neglect. Mainly down to Edwards not caring about ensuring a tenant handed the property back as they find it. If you’re a tenant, probably the best agents in town, they will let you get away without tidying/cleaning/gardening or generally looking after the property, they will not keep your deposit or check for damage etc when you move out. If you have pets even better, you won’t need to pick up your dog mess or clean the carpets when leaving. My neighbours tell me they scan the property for 2 minutes max once a tenant leaves. Landlords - avoid at all costs, it will cost you a fortune to repair Edwards lack of due diligence and care. They were supposed to be managing the property, I’m not sure they know what that means.
