I both bought and sold with Beresford Adams this year and couldn’t be happier with the service. After finding the perfect property I wanted to buy I contacted them and they arranged a viewing for the next day. I also arranged for them to come and view my property and Mel who came to value it was amazing. Came very prepared with how other properties in the area have sold recently. Was so Impressed with the pitch I agreed to go ahead there and then. The pictures were taken and it was for sale within a week! They also helped with finding a Solicitor (DC Law) who were also great! All in all great service from the whole business and I am now in my dream home!

Not a great experience for us when selling our house unfortunately. House was listed for sale from March until we removed it from sale in October. Proceedings were initially okay but Beresford's initial promise of vetting people viewing seemed to go out of the window, and we were met with viewers looking for houses with different numbers of bedrooms and those that couldn't get mortgages etc. This is especially annoying as there seemed to be a reluctance for Beresford to do the viewings, leaving us to do them. Furthermore, a 'sold' marker appeared on our board one day unexpectedly - multiple phone calls couldn't get it removed and it eventually led to it just being put in the bin, but not by Beresford - why this was so hard to get corrected I don't know?
We cancelled our listing with Beresford and relisted with another local estate agent, who secured multiple offers within three weeks of the listing being live, and successfully completing a few months later.
Not recommended, unfortunately. Staff are very pleasant, though.

I cannot speak highly enough of Aimee - she not only got us a fantastic deal on our mortgage, but also negotiated the purchase price on our behalf. Aimee is very responsive and communicative, and always followed through on any actions. She kept us updated at every stage, even on a bank holiday, liaising with both the estate agents and solicitors. We had a nightmare by having to change our mortgage only a week before completion and Aimee worked extremely hard to get everything processed and approved in time. My partner and I recently rented a new place. We were so lucky to get to work with Bryn Griffith. He was so attentive, easy to communicate with and just simply kind! When we went to Bereford Adams we were already quite desperate we won't find a place. Every agent we met until this point was almost uninterested in what we were looking for. Is that not what vendors are paying a fortune for.? If you are using beresford adams to sell in Blacon... sorry... I can't even get to see your house, never mind buy it!

Despite repeated efforts to enquire about a property during an extremely stressful and difficult time due to being kicked out of our home at short notice, Beresford Adams assured me they would be in touch. I advised I was working away but left my partners contact details. Nobody contacted him and when we got in touch to enquire further the property was no longer available. Although I asked several times what had happened I was never given an explanation, just that they tried to call me, which they didn't. I advised them I'd called a total of nine times regarding the property as we were desperate to which I was met with a lack of empathy or concern for their error. Another estate agent that shows a lack of concern for people's wellbeing, as long as they can line their own pockets.

I have nothing but nice things to say about Beresford Adams! From the moment I called them to ask to view a property last minute Melissa went out of her way to ensure we got a viewing that weekend. Not only this but she took us to see another property at the same time that hadn’t been listed yet. She is the most professional estate agent I have ever dealt with. From the moment we put in an offer through to finally completing, she was there every step of the way. She was always so kind and helpful, answering all my emails and phone calls. Any important news (such as offer being accepted, completing etc) she always called us which I really appreciated. I never once felt that she was just on the sellers side, I felt she had my best interests at heart too. Me and my partner are first time buyers and were very anxious throughout the process but Melissa really helped us to navigate through it all. I am sorry you are not happy with my decision but based on the fact that this sale has now been agreed for over 18 months with no progress whatsoever, and that your solicitor has had no contact with you for at least 10 months, I feel it is unfair to keep your purchaser waiting any longer.
I will inform them of this and will be removing 3 The Pines from the market.

This is how you’re treated if you sell your house with them. Basically, we had 2 house sales which fell through for reasons outside of our control. We’re in, was in, the process of looking but it’s been difficult with the price rises. Obviously, despite not being able to find any mention of time limits in the agreement, the branch manager has decided to terminate our sale. I can only imagine how our buyers must also be feeling right now.
Ultimately it’s your choice who you list your house with, but be warned it appears you have a time limit to find an unsuitable house, especially when you’re in a difficult position as they advise you to take a low offer.

Shocking estate agents. As a landlord they cost me significant sums of money and I ended up having to take them to small claims court because they took the option to simply ignore their customer and never call back when they promised.
The last straw was when they emailed me by mistake thinking they were emailing the tenant advising them to contest legitimate costs I had incurred because they would help get them out of it!
Absolutely shocking outfit. Seriously, use any other estate agent before you use Beresford Adams
I think it's telling that you find the time to reply to this but never reply to phone calls and emails directly. Disgusting.

They have a 3 bedroom house listed using descriptions such as "A spacious front room" and "family bathroom". But when I rang up they said no children as the property was too small!
This just goes to show the drivel that comes out of estate agents' mouths. How can the front room be "spacious" and the bathroom be "family" if it's too small and no children?
The advert was completely misleading and discriminatory in contravention of the Equality Act 2010 as it discriminates on the basis of age.

I went to see a property in Upton with Amy at the end of March, she was great, very knowledgeable about everything to do with the property and the area, really helpful and easy to talk to. I had an offer accepted and was in touch with Amy over the course of the next couple of months. I knew that if I contacted the office and asked to speak to Amy, she would call me back as soon as she could, without fail - this really offers a sense of comfort as you know any query or issue is going to be dealt with quickly and professionally. Nothing was too much trouble for Amy, if she didn't have the answer, she would come straight back once she did.
I found all of the team really friendly, responsive and friendly, I would highly recommend all of the Chester team of Beresford Adams to anyone buying a property in this area. The process of buying a house is a stressful one so it's nice when one of the parties you deal with takes that element of stress away!

We have now used Countrywide mortgage advice service a few times. We keep coming back here because of the level of service, expertise and local knowledge that Mr. Thuin Ali at the Chester branch has, is second to none. Gave them the spare key and security fob for the property I am renting so they could carry out an inspection while I was at work, perfectly happy with service at this point.
But a few months later a gas safety check was due so advised again that could be done using the spare key as I couldn’t take the time off work but got a call back to say they had lost the keys!
Mistakes happen and had the lost keys and fob been replaced and given back to me then I wouldn’t be here complaining... instead we are almost 3 years down the line and after multiple attempts to contact them and resolve it I am left with only 1 security fob that would leave me stranded outside the block should it fail... have I also mentioned the intercom doesn’t work?
Attempts to contact them and resolve the issue include:
Reporting it in writing via email and following up with a telephone conversation
Further telephone conversations
Reporting it via the website for maintenance issues
Forwarding emails reporting it directly to the lettings manager of the chester office and being told he would investigate... That was 7 months ago and still nothing
I cannot recommend the Lettings office because of this unfortunately.

Delightful to buy a house with. I had a particularly complicated set of circumstances as I was buying while working abroad. The team, special mentions to Amy and Louise, were extremely helpful and understanding and I wanted to use this review to express my gratitude to them. I was also greatly aided by Beresford Adams being part of the Countrywide group as it helped me to speed up processes that would have taken much longer or even jeopardised the purchase. A particular mention to Thuin from the Countrywide, who works in the Beresford Adams Chester office. He was in constant and prompt contact with my solicitor leading up to the sale to make sure that the insurance policies matched my mortgage broker's requirements (which were more complicated than normal due to my working abroad). Everyone I spoke to at their office always provided sound, sensible and well-measured advice. They have enough experience to give an educated answer to pretty much every question you ask, and they have the customer service knowledge to listen to question they don’t know the answer to, let you know they’ll find out for you, and give you the accurate answer for it within two days at most. Having my parents property sold for full asking price on the day it went on the market I was keen to use the same agency to sell mine. I spoke to the Branch Manager, Louise who quickly established the property I was looking to sell and who it would appeal to. Later that day a viewing was proposed prior to placing on the market which I accepted. It was precisely what the purchaser was looking for and again the full asking price was offered which I accepted. This all happened within 3 days of contact with the branch. I recently completed on a flat sale in Chester. Beresford Adams were professional and had good communication throughout the proceedings. I would highly recommend this business.
I would also like to personally praise one of the sales team, Katrina in the Beresford team. She was key in communicating to me throughout the sale, and went above and beyond to support throughout. Katrina was supportive throughout a sometimes stressful process and should be credited as a real asset to her team.

Lack of Communication throughout my tenancy. i moved out of the property on 8th August and the Landlord text to say she was happy with returning my deposit. i did not receive any correspondence from Beresford Adams. i called to find that i should have been sent a deposit release form which i got sent and returned on 10th Sept, i am still waiting on a response, they don't answer the phone and no replies to my emails. unfortunately for them i work in Chester and will probably end up paying them a visit in person if this continues... poor customer service.

Absolute joke, we had an appointment for 5 o'clock, at 5.20 I rang up I got told they would be 5 minuets late as there was bad traffic, we waited till 6 pm after ringing loads, knowone turned up there phones were not on, so I had waited with my 9 month pregnant girlfriend in the cold for nothing.....

I have been looking to buy a house in Chester and gave my details to all the estate agents in Chester. Even though I haven’t bought off Beresford Adams I was very impressed with their level of service. All the staff were helpful and very polite, they couldn’t do enough for me and I would always recommend them.
