Because of a serious mistake by SSE/OVO energy company I found myself with a demand from a debt collection agency and exorbitant bills that had nothing to do with me. I informed Amber Gelling who acted immediately. I continued to receive demands and bills, and I also continued to contact Amber. She remained patient and professional with me and ‘suitably assertive’ with both the agency and SSE/OVO! I asked Brigfords to put my house on the market for letting. Amber the branch manager has been very responsive and helpful. (She also helped me rent a house before when I hadn’t bought a house of my own and therefore I also used them for letting)
I think Amber was very nice and approachable. Their team did actively arrange viewings for me and I got text notifications when viewings were booked. The house itself is not brand new and it was not easy to find a good tenant, but I appreciate they kept trying. At the end, they helped me secure a tenant and able to let it out at my asking price and I very much appreciated their efforts.
The only thing I was not very happy about was the communication. I would only know what I needed to know when I asked them by email. They found a few potential tenants and sent me the offer. After I accepted one of the offers, they didn’t provide an update whether this would be proceeded or it had been fallen through. I was only informed the tenancy would start 2 days later after I received a system email asking me to sign the contract electronically. I felt a bit surprised and didn’t want to sign the contract as I didn’t know whether the reference checks passed or not… (they did confirm me the checking were all okay later on the phone) plus, I wanted to meet the tenant and clean the house before the tenancy started but I could not arrange as the Tenant would move in 2 days later….(and of course the tenant was not very happy about this).
As it is my first time letting out a house, I expect I would be informed timely on the progress without asking. It is the only thing that I felt a bit frustrated. I understood they have a lot of cases they need to handle so it could be just overlooking. Later on, one of their staff apologised to me and explained my case was handled by a new joiner so she didn’t know how to handle well. Plus it is summer holiday season so many of them were away, including Amber and therefore she couldn’t handle the case herself.
I think in overall they are very helpful and will respond promptly to requests and enquiries, which I felt very pleased. I may continue to use them in the future.

From the moment when I found the flat on Rightmove to contacting Bridgfords, I found the process seamless. Within a week or so, Courtney had gotten back to me and I had started the reference checks. I recently sold my father’s house through Bridgfords Sale. It wasn't the easiest time, having to deal with things from afar, but the team at Bridgfords Sale were very helpful and made the process as painless as possible. From the first appointment with Rachel who demonstrated a huge amount of local knowledge, through to completion, when I was receiving updates daily, I couldn't have asked for better service.
Megan, specifically, was brilliant throughout the whole process. She kept me informed at every step of the way with clear communications and updates and reassured me when I was uncertain as to what was going on or frustrated at the length of time things were taking to be resolved. Her tenacity at chasing the solicitors and lender was really appreciated and I honestly think the process would have dragged on for far longer if it hadn’t been for her commitment and dedication. She even checked on the property and obtained meter readings for me when I was unable to get to the property due to Covid.
I know there are cheaper online ways to sell your house but I can honestly say that Bridgfords were worth every penny and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I don't know about other Birdgefords office, but Bridgefords(in Sale) office is really dirty business, Seriously.
My story as Followed:
I did view a flat in Sale, which is on Irlam Road, Sale. someone from Bridgfords office in Sale told me the final offer must be given to them before 3PM same day when I viewing the Flat, So, I did send email after viewing, also I called the office to confirm they received my email, there are two different receivers(Edward and Elli). NOBODY ANSWER THE PHONE!!!@2:45PM???? After I made a lot of calls, finally One lady( call Rachel, She is the manager) answer the phone, she said Edward and Elli NOT IN THE OFFICE!!! I guess they trying to play as 'they didn't get your offer" and want to sell the property to someone they related at very CHEAP price, After she know I send my offer and copy two of her colleagues in the email, She call me at 3:30PM said my offer been accepted and will arrange Broker call me next day!
The next day, One lady call me talk about buy-to-let mortgage, After she know I am not employed, I am a business owner, She ask me as cash buyer, I said yes, I got enough money in the bank, she said will speak to the seller.

I don't mind I lost this business opportunity, but I do want to make sure the seller got a fair price and show everybody this dirty game play by them.

Having recently sold my house and purchased a new one I really wanted to leave a review to let others know just what great service I received from Bridgfords. Bridgfords were not 'my' estate agents (I chose another agent to sell through), but they were the agents I bought my new property from. Having had quite a few mishaps along the way (no fault of Bridgfords) I can honestly say that without the help and support of Edward at Bridgfords I don't know how I would have managed to stay sane! Edward contacted me regularly (neither my estate agent nor my solicitor did the same) , he kept me informed of any updates and when both my solicitor and my estate agents were lagging to get over the final hurdle it was Edward who went out of his way to help me move things along. Edward also contacted me the day after moving just to check everything was ok and make sure our move went smooth and we'd had a good first night in our new home......a personal touch that I found very endearing. I think Edwards work ethics and genuine care for his clients is something that is rarely found these days and he is an absolute credit to Bridgfords. I do hope that I won't be moving again anytime soon but if the situation arises I would not hesitate to use this firm and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Although we got 2 other estate agents out for a valuation and discussion on their services, Bridgfords led the way in terms of professionalism, enthusiasm and knowledge. Rachel was friendly and personable.

Only decided not to let the property to us ONE DAY before the proposed move-in date. They have made false promises about how the landlady was willing to fix broken shower door, broken stoves, etc. At that time they were very certain that everything would be in place before we move in. Therefore, we had proceeded and paid for the deposit. Only on our second viewing, the condition in the house was unacceptable - we sent an email to the agent and asked if all broken items can be fixed/replaced/removed. They cancelled the whole deal and proceeded to refund the deposit the day before the agreed move-in day without any conversation or communication. The team was amazing but lack of communication with clients. Not trustworthy and I will not recommend this agency to my friends.

Overall great experience, all members of staff were lovely. Initially we were unsure whether to sell or let the property. Dale visited us to provide a valuation. He was professional, knowledgable and was the reason we chose to use Bridgfords. We decided to let to property, so were transferred over to Amber and the lettings team. Amber visited the property and talked us through the process. Additionally she advised on what work would need to be done in order to achieve highest rental value. Amber Gelling at Bridgfords Countrywide lettings’ agency has been managing my landlord’s account for the past 7-8 years. I have been delighted with the service she has provided on behalf of the company, which has encompassed all of the qualities outline above - good quality & value, and (very) professional and responsive to my requirements as a customer/client. Over the past 12 months I have had great difficulties in dealing with my tenant who refused both to the vacate the property after the Section 21 notice expired in December and allow access to it during this time. Thankfully, Amber was on hand throughout this period to support and provide necessary confirmation & copy documentation required to my solicitor to enable him to apply for repossession/eviction. Very awful letting agency to deal with, a lot of miscommunication between them and the landlord which cause a lot of issues and delay in getting the referencing in. the situation was explained and agreed that it would be okay, but Suddenly the agency Changed there mind and sent The wrong references To landlord, which has caused her to refuse us,
It’s put me in a very bad spot as I had already given my notice, was given zero explanation and would not allow us to speak to the landlord directly, the agency is basically Playing Chinese whisper, with landlord properties and perspective tennents,
I would highly recommend landlord to stay away from the agency if you want To rent out your property else you are likely going to be waiting 6 months
I would also recommend perspective tennents to stay away you might find the perfect home only for the real to fail due to the incompetence of the letting agency

We viewed a property which we loved and the landlady accepted our offer. We paid the holding deposit all ok so then we went through the referencing checks.
I explained that my tax return wouldn't be done right away but hopefully it wasn't a problem as the move in date was 2 months in advance. Every email I sent to Elisha was then ignored. She also repeatedly threatened us with other offers they had on the phone. She refused a second viewing because we think she didn't want to bother the landlady.
Now we put our notice in and paid for a tax return amber emails and says they have put forward half finished referencing to the landlady so obviously she's refused us.
Stay away from brigfords sale, you might find a lovely home just to find the estate agents are too incompetent to complete the deal.

I recently dealt with Jessica Nunn at Bridgfords in Sale to let my property. The property was brought to market at Christmas time so I wasn't expecting things to move too quickly. I recently purchased my first home through Bridgfords and can't recommend them enough.
I was desperate to get the keys and moved in by Christmas and this was looking increasingly unlikely as mid December was approaching and the solicitors involved we're not making much progress on the final enquiries. I explained my dilemma to Rebecca Lazarus the estate agent that was dealing with my purchase and she couldn't have been more helpful or efficient. On a daily basis she called both parties solicitors, sometimes twice a day to help push the sale through. Then a few days before Christmas the good news came through that we were exchanging contracts and will be complete in time for Christmas. I can't recommend or thank Rebecca enough for all the hard work she put in for both me and the seller, making this stressful time so much easier and getting me moved in time for Christmas and the New Year ahead.

I always like dealing with few people in bridgeford, Ava is the one who is so lovely to deal with all the time, she always get back to you on time and this is really impressed me. And I also like dealing with Angela who is there to answer all my queries and being so patient. These two are always my favorites.
But when dealing with other departments I do think they need to improve a bit as sometimes I found lack of communication.
Overall I am happy with bridgeford because there are always few fantastic people there to help you with.

We successfully sold our home this year through Bridgfords, all the staff there were incredible, they kept us up to date constantly and all seemed to really care about what they do. Whenever I called, someone was able to answer my question, they all knew who we were and what our situation was. When things went wrong in the chain, Bridgfords were there to help fix it.
We got a better price for our house than we were quoted from all the online only estate agents which more than covered the extra fee cost. Bridgfords also marketed our home very well with some great images, we had dozens of viewings within a week and we quickly got an offer.
Moving house can be very stressful and doesn’t always go to plan, I think it’s worth having someone on your side who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure it works out, I will be going straight to Bridgfords if we ever want to sell our house again!

The team in Sale branch were professional, friendly and helpful from start to finish.
We invited 3 estate agents to value our property. One didn't turn up and the other two made similar valuations. The difference was that Ciara from Bridgfords immediately offered suggestions and ideas for making a quick sale at the best price. Her initial attitude and approach made the decision for us on which agent to choose.
Once the property was on the market, Rebecca Lazarus was our main contact. She understood the sensitivity of the transaction, kept us updated every step of the way and managed a quick, successful and straightforward sale. She gave us sound advice on how realistic some of the offers were and ensured that the process was as painless as possible.

As my Dad's executor, I sold his house through Bridgfords. They came out promptly, explained the market and their way of doing business, gave a valuation for probate and waited patiently for probate to be granted. When it was, they acted promptly, marketing the property, advising me thoroughly of progress and taking all the burden of showing the house and dealing with prospective buyers.
When we thought we had a sale around Christmas but the buyer pulled out unexpectedly, the Bridgfords team rapidly contacted other prospective buyers and another offer was accepted at a reasonable price within days.
I thought the team was professional throughout, listening and acting on any points that I made as the sale progressed. I had hardly anything to do beyond ensuring that the house was cleared, insured and kept in good order; Bridgfords liaised well with my solicitor and the buyers and kept me up-to-date at all times. Martin, Helen and Rebecca looked after the sale and worked well together. I never felt that I had to repeat anything to any of them as they clearly kept one another informed.

We have recently purchased a new house through Bridgfords and fortunately we also sold our house with them, which due to their extensive database of potential buyers was sold within 24 hours of valuation for over the asking price.
Whilst all the team I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful I must make reference to Helen McGrogan who has made it feel like we are her only customer and she has worked tirelessly in coordinating our buyers, solicitors and vendor for the new house we purchased.

We bought our first house in the 80s through Bridgfords in Wilmlsow. They seems nice back then, so when we decided to rent out my recently deceased mothers house in Sale we contacted Bridgfords. Warning! The compliments end here (and remain in the past). Please do not trust this agent. I found that the branch manager lied to get me to sign up to market and let my property. Hidden charges, no feed back, rude telephone calls. Just not acceptable. Bridgfords is not what it used to be. It is now resting on it's laurels of the past. It is no longer an independent local brand, it belongs to a massive company 'Countrywide', who bought Bridgfords out and still trade under the name - all the paperwork came through as Countrywide - just search this company and you will stay well clear of Bridgfords!
Shocking, appalling service from a brand that used to be so good in the past.
