Do not use this company. They have no idea about customer service or communication. They do not get back to your emails & they don't even phone back buyers who want to make offers on your property. And they lose your property keys!!! They want to do as little work as possible to sell your property. Absolute cowboys!

Please don’t go with chancellors. I’ve just looked at other reviews on other sites and this and it turns out there are many many people experiencing the same issues. We are scared to contact anyone like an ombudsman in case they kick us out. We used their complaints email directors@chancellors.co and nothing changed at all.
Honestly AVOID this company because whilst they might be able to find you a flat or house, be really kind and sweet and supportive, advise they can make sure it’s accessible for your disability, but any issues at all they will NOT help with. This is due to terrible internal structure and communication and poor training. The person who manages Lettings in Wycombe (named below) is obviously inept at his job and has caused significant delay, confusion and stress in our house for over two months.
I feel like this review might get us kicked out unfairly, but they’re so rich they can do what they want. But please don’t go with them it’ll ruin your life!

Renting one of their properties for the last couple of years, absolutely unprofessional experience.

To start with, they asked me to blindly accept and sign the contract that referred to multiple Amendments/Appendices documents that describe my financial obligations for the building, land and damages. Problem was that none of these Amendments was provided because they didn't have them. Took me a while to make them send me a formal letter that states that I can not be responsible for terms and conditions that were not negotiated with me at the time of signing the rental agreement.

Then, this agency is always on the landlord side, it takes months of chasing to get things fixed when landlord decides to ignore your requests. In my case I had to take my laundry to Laundromats and waste time waiting there for two months before they finally sent someone to fix the broken machine. They simply didn't care till I threatened them with small court claims with a compensation for the inconvenience and damages.

This year they increased the rent (which is fine), but after I paid the requested amount they issued me a formal request for 1p. Yes, it's a request to immediately pay £0.01. I had an email exchange with Aaron Saunders, their property manager, that was keen to blame his colleague for the rounding error of £0.01 and explained that this mismatch now "sets up flags" in their system, hence I need to update my payments immediately. Unfortunately he wasn't as keen to provide a proper formal apology for their mistake. It's not the end of the world for me, but what a bunch of clowns they are!

Bottom line, if you have a choice look for your property somewhere else or get ready for a bumpy ride with plenty of funny and not so screw-ups. And by the way, don't sign any agreements that specify terms and conditions specified in other documents that they "can't find, but it's ok, everyone signs these papers, it's standard".

As for all the positive reviews for them here, part of them are coming from landlords that are obvious happy due to Chancellors taking their side - signing tenants under papers they don't get to see, letting landlords to get away without legally required maintenance of the property.

Extremely happy with our experience with Chancellors, we chose them to market our property as well as sourcing one for my husband and I to rent, they succeeded in swiftly lettings ours to lovely tenants and shortly after sourced us a new home! All together cannot fault their service.

As tenants new to the area we were disappointed with our experience with other local agents, however we came to Chancellors and they have been so extremely helpful throughout the process. They guided us on what we should look at and have helped us secure a property we love. We wouldn't want to use anyone else!!

I had the most horrible experience with this agency lately. If you don't want headaches find a better agency who takes their job seriously.
Long story short: I've booked two times to see a house , i arrived at the place and no agent show up and when i called back to see what happened she said i wasn't in their booking sistem . Then i booked again an appointment and same thing happened NO AGENT SHOW UP . When to book third time they said the house it's not longer available. Worst agency I've ever dealt with ????

Deposit Returning - Terrible (1 star); It took 1 month from check out to receiving a notice of deductions. The deductions were unreasonable, and when we challenged them we were ghosted and did not receive any replies. It is now 2 months after check out and Chancellors have held the entire deposit for this time, including the undisputed amount. This isn't paperwork, it's real money that could be a mortgage payment or several food shops, and the delay and lack of responsiveness is inexcusable.
Overall - Okay (3 stars)
Advice - Apply the same level of excellence you apply to sales to property management and check out management

Lara, the Sales Manager at Chancellors doesn't know a thing about customer service. Very unprofessional and the way the she speaks to people is terrible.

Doesn't know the correct information about the law of lettings at all. Very rude.

Really awful experience. It was a disaster from start to finish. We had to chase the agent to actually call back interested parties. Their response was that there contract doesn’t state what work they will do - therefore they didn’t actually need to follow up on calls or interest! We eventually showed a buyer around ourselves and they bought the house. During the sale process the buyer contacted me to say how awful they felt the experience had been; and that they had in fact tried to put in an offer over 4 days for our house! Needless to say I would never recommend them to anyone. Please do avoid them and go with a good local agent. It is also worth noting that they have had multiple managers who have come and gone. Certainly not a good sign.
