After a very long day, I finally found a property I wanted to view. After 17:30, I rang Chancellors in the expectation of leaving a voice message, but I got through to Shannon Lumbard.
Within the next 3-4 minutes she asked me the relevant questions, was, kind, patient, and understanding, and didn't end the conversation until she was satisfied I understood everything.
After the call, within 5 minutes, she'd emailed me confirmation of the viewing at a time that was perfect for me.
This is what excellent customer service looks like!

Sadly the red tape delays resulted in this price being reduced which was avoidable. Emma Branwell came in once we registered our disappointment and to be fair the change was palpable. Definitely read the small print in detail before doing anything with these guys, their contract terms are with the intent to be remunerated for no work done and it ties you in to sell with them whether or not they are delivering value, definitely not customer centric-all about getting paid at all costs for them.

5 stars to Emma Benwell Executive Sales Manager. Emma has dedicated herself daily to make sure my conveyancing was moving forward. She phoned, emailed all parts involved in a daily basis and through her efforts my conveyancing was successfully completed. The other members of the team were not responsive and in some occasions even rude. If you have a conveyancing with Chancellors Maidenhead make sure Emma Benwell is involved in it.

One of the worst experiences i had. Firstly, the communication was poor between the parties (we had to send the right to rent code 3 times), then the agency decided our move in date as they said they can only hand out a property during the weekend and when we finally received the keys, none of the agents were present. I have asked for the deep clean of the flat as it looked disgusting, we got the confirmation it will be done by the landlord. It wasn't however, nobody from the agency bothered to check the flat is is good order to be handed over to the new tenants and because we had all our stuff in front of the house, we did not have too many options to reduse it. We had to take care of the flat and bring it to decent and livable state. Lastly, they have asked us to pay the rent in advance every month as they need to send the money to the landlord on a certain date, which it is actually not our issue and we should't be involved in their business, how and when the money gets to the landlord.
I had better experiences with no name estate agencies which made sure everything is in order from the beginning to the end of the process. I surely do not recommend them for renting and i do regret i have to deal with people who are focused on money, without offering anything in return. Total disappointment from both parties.

I received an DISGUSTING service from Portia in the office. I was looking to purchase a flat and she said I could make an offer Even-though the flat was under offer, and she then booked a viewing for me the next day.
I called the office the next day to confirm the viewing and she said the "vendor" cancelled. She didn't even call me or email to cancel the appointment. I live 2 hours away and was preparing to leave and called the office just in case to just confirm the viewing but Portia's colleague Abbie said the appointment was cancelled.
Abbie persisted that she spoke to me in the morning when i received absolutely no calls or emails from her or Portia. I had to keep calling the office to confirm the viewing. She then made excuses how Portia is busy and they don't have work phones.
Very unprofessional and Poor service I expected better from a prestigious Estate Agents.
Completely wasted my time.

Before I write anything I must say we are maybe not the easiest customers and definitely don't like Chancellor's Head Office.
But we think Portia Hester at Maidehead Branch is a talented, patient and highly competent agent.
Probably she has never had such a lot of viewings with one customer than with us, but she always made sure we have plenty time and never urged us even it was her spare time.
When problems occured during the buying process, she impartially stepped next to us, as our solicitor is always "on holidays".
I must say, we maybe won't buy the property if the agent is not Portia.

Thought a 1 room shed in someone’s garden for £1000pcm was fair and legal. Misleading or false pictures. Expect people to believe a shed has an energy efficiency rating of C and hold up to building regulations for rented accommodation.

You guys are a disaster. You have the temerity to send me a court summons for non payment of council tax 2020 without any previous communication. Clearly this is something thats been going on for a while but only now do you communicate. I’d say Chancellors is one of the worst managed companies I’ve had the misfortune to work with. When I was a tenant for less than a year I never had the same contact person more than once. Your staff retention and turnover is a fine example of what a disaster the business is. The fool that sent the most recent email to me will no doubt be moving on soon too. Disgraceful.

Our house had been on the market for nearly a year, which surprised us as we thought it would fly off the shelf! We had reduced the price twice, but one estate agent was unable to sell it after 4 months, and we changed to Chancellors in the hope it would sell quickly. The first Sales Negotiator was not very good at all, and we were starting to become very worried that there was something wrong with our house - we were at our wits end ! Fortunately our property was transferred to Portia Hester to market and sell. We quickly found her to be very efficient and she very quickly introduced us to some good buyers with a compelling reason to buy our house. Within 4 weeks of her taking on our property we had a good offer and our house is now going through the conveyancing process. Portia is still diligently following up with our purchasers to get the sale through, despite a heavy workload, as this must be a busy time for all estate agents. She seems to have a flare for quickly generating buyers with the right budget to buy a house, and professionally works with them to make the right decision to buy, greatly helping us to get the right sale. Based on her work with us I would have no problem recommending Chancellors estate agents to friends and family.

This review is intended for the sales department only. If I was rating the lettings team then the review would read 5 stars as I have been very impressed with the lettings team.
The sales team misinformed me when making an offer on a property. Then they subsequently misinformed and lied to me on progress during the sale, the staff members who did so subsequently left the company so I could not prove any of the conversations that were had.
The sales manager Benjamin Hamlin was downright rude, he hung up on me as he claimed that I had verbally abused him. I was respectful during my conversations with him.

Poor experience with Chancellors Maidenhead. Marketed my property with the wrong floor plans and photos like this across the various platforms. After two weeks they couldn't fix these issues so I had to request they take the listing down, before being locked into a 16 week contract with them. Despite acknowledging the poor service, I received a bill from them and an email to say that i had not given them sufficient opportunity to fix the issues i had highlighted. A lack of care and waste of time.

Very poor service (almost non existent). I tried to book some viewings for some properties that they have for sale. They booked viewings without checking if I'm available, I sent some questions via email that I never got a response for and when I finally managed to book an appointment I got a call that they will be 5' late. 15' later no one showed up. I emailed them to ask for someone more professional to arrange viewings and I didn't get any response. I guess they are too busy to deal with new customers.

We have had mixed experiences with estate agents over the years. Demi at Maidenhead’s chancellors has been a breath of fresh air. We have dealt with Demi all the way through the process from valuation to sell.
Demi has always gone the extra mile. Problems early on where taken on personally and has always made herself available including a day off at a crucial time of the process.

After unforeseen circumstances we had to remove our property from the market, we did this within the agreed 14 day cooling off period.....however, we recieved threatening phone calls and emails demanding a payment! We queried this and reminded them of the 14 days cooling off period. This resulted in an absence of contact with us except a county court judgment for £400. Do not use this estate agents.

I had a slightly mixed experience when selling my flat with Chancellors. Everything upto agreeing the sale price was spot on - the photos were excellent, Demi found a buyer within 2 days of the flat going on the market and they secured a much better price than I expected. However, the sales progression was poor. It took more than 5 months to complete the sale. Part of that was undoubtedly due to the flat being leasehold but in my view they were also culpable. The communication was sporadic and they were so slow to respond at times I ended up chasing them and escalating to a team lead who in fairness moved things along. It's a shame because the rest of the service was excellent.

We had an offer accepted on a property (being sold by Chancellors) in January 2019 and still do not have an exchange date as of today (1 October 2019). Our agent has not provided regular comprehensive updates as to what the various hold ups have been and I'm not even sure she knows the full details, which is incredibly disappointing. At some points in the process, we have had to speak to the other estate agents in the chain just to get some clarity. What contact we have had feels like our agent is just checking in to see that we're okay desperately clinging on to our purchase. I don't feel that our agent has made any attempt to drive our purchase forward and has in fact now gone on holiday for a month without even notifying us. Our previous mortgage offer expired because of this extreme delay in getting anything moving, so we've been put through additional stress and expense. At this point it doesn't even feel like Chancellors care whether we buy the property or not and we're pretty close to calling it a day just so we don't have to deal with you any more. Very frustrating.

Endless phone calls and emails aside - Chancellors are fatally let down by the 'South East Management' team when it comes to managed lettings.
I opted for the 'fully managed' option for an easy life, yet 'INFURIATING' is probably the only word to describe what it's like dealing with the management team, thus unfortunately, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid Chancellors for lettings.

Victoria at this branch has contacted me relentlessly - virtually to the point of harassment. Even after I've told her multiple times in the past not to ever contact me again, the calls continue. These people are like a dog with a bone. As soon as they got my details they will *not* stop emailing and phoning me about letting my property through them. Their internal systems are a disaster.
Plenty of good estate agents out there. Would avoid Chancellors, and in particular Victoria, at all costs.

Messages weren't passed on, there was a spelling mistake on the floorplan that was never corrected, and the contact with the sales progression team was very impersonal and kinda pointless. Kyle at chancellors Maidenhead has been excellent this last year.
The chancellors team came around my house last year and out of all the agents I had over they were the most honest and professional so I picked them. I put my house on the market but due to my sports contract had to take it off the market. Kyle at the branch kept in contact with me every month not to pushy but just enough. I put my property back on the market with them this year and they found me a buyer with in 6 weeks. Whole process was smooth and efficient from the offer being agreed to exchange and even though there progressions team where pushing everything through for me kyle called me every Tuesday to make sure things where going ahead still and made sure I was happy.

I cannot recommend the Maidenhead lettings team for Chancellors highly enough. I have now used them three times in the last couple of years for renting properties in Maidenhead. The Chancellors team is without doubt the best rental agency I have come across in my dealings with probably more than a dozen agencies over the years. I have been renting properties for over 20 years now, mainly in central London but more recently also in Maidenhead.
• Initially a realistic forecast of the rental potential with useful local intell.
• Beautiful photos and accompanying floorplan with measurements are loaded onto the website portals very quickly.
• Email feedback promptly after each viewing.
• Regular calls to discuss the progress.
But most of all a truly personal service where nothing is too much trouble. Victoria Whitehouse, in particular, has bent over backwards to help me with various logistics / issues in a way that I have never encountered from anyone before. I am very appreciative of Victoria and everyone in the Maidenhead team.

As I was about to sell my late mother's property in April 2015, at the same time Chancellors new offices opened in Maidenhead. I was obviously attracted to their 0% commission offer which was running until July 2015 - so I contacted them.
I would like to say, the first viewer of the open day we held bought the property in September 2015.
I found Chancellors to be very professional in their approach and always contactable when the need arose. I was updated almost every week when necessary and any messages I left where dealt with promptly, whether by telephone or email.
Thank you Maidenhead and Bracknell Teams. I would come back to you again should the need arise and would recommend you to anyone who asked.

From first calling in, to the initial appointment with Laura and then at every step along the way I have been impressed.
The team are polite, courteous, great fun and incredibly professional - all very polished and great to deal with.
James, Chris and Sam are a pleasure to speak to - always on hand to support and assist.
Melissa was our main contact and she was incredible - very efficient, on the case non-stop and great at keeping me updated on progress, she has a great way of engaging with people and is a credit to the business.

Chancellors were the third agency we used primarily because they had a very attractive New Launch offer. We were a little sceptical at first about whether they would be as proactive as we would wish. However, our fears were unjustified and Laura & her team, especially Melissa, were instrumental in achieving a high level of viewings, good communication and a successful sale (stc). Although Melissa was our assigned agent, thanks should go to James & Chris who were also very helpful and pleasant.
We now have an assigned administrator, Richard, who is doing a very good job of informing us about progress.
