We purchased our new house through Hursts and had a mixed experience. On the one hand it was always easy to get hold of them and they got back to us with answers to any queries we had quickly. We also used the solicitor they recommended to us for both our sale and purchase and we were very impressed with the service we received.
However, on the other the hand, we found the attitude of the particular agent we dealt with mostly to be bordering on aggressive.
The agent constantly insinuated that any delays we encountered - to be fair there weren't many - were due to something going on at our end of the chain. In fact one of the delays was due to the amount of time it took for the vendor/vendor's conveyancer of our new house to provide a signature.
On completion day, after a long wait for confirmation that monies had been exchange and keys could finally be handed over, we eventually went to Hursts' office to see if they knew what was going on and the agent greeted us with a smile and congratulations without realising that completion hadn't actually happened. Once we explained the agent quickly got on to the appropriate solicitor and the matter was resolved fairly quickly.
Now 2 weeks after moving into our new home, we have received an offer from Hursts, via a well known house comparison company, to give us an appraisal and valuation of the property we have just sold.
We fully appreciate that each agent is working on behalf on their client, usually the vendor, but our experience with Hursts only earned a 3 star rating.... Read more

Hursts were first rate. Highly professional. At times, I thought I'd never get there without their help as they kept things moving, went above and beyond to push the process along and joined the dots between freeholder, solicitor, buyer and me. Great communication from first to last, kept me in the loop throughout and I would reccommend them 100%.... Read more

Estate agents/ Landlords try to pocket the deposit paid. They throw out petty cleaning/damages and either pocket it in whole or in part through commission. Hurst appear to be no different. The new tenant had already moved in and they tried to pocket over £100 in cleaning and electrical damages. The before and after photos were identical, and the comments were matching too. Dirty front door before we moved in, dirty front door after we moved out. The pettiness of it. It is meant to be common sense approach to deductions; fair wear and tear. They wanted to charge water damage for using bathroom taps? Electrical damage they said that I had tampered with the electrics; it is absurd.
Took them over a month to eventually return the deposit in full. Landlords/estate agents should look at the profits made at the end of the year and not penny pinch; with a £250 a month increase in the rent i do hope the next tenant will be treated with more respect.... Read more

Kieran represented us for our house sale. Whilst it was a relatively short chain it came with some tricky complications. Throughout the entire sale process it was Kieran that led from the front and by example. It was his tenacity when the going got tough that saw a successful completion. Kieran was the one who always had the latest accurate information (because he had personally chased it down), he was the one that kept us updated on a regular basis, and his experience, knowledge depth, pragmatism and determination to overcome was a joy to behold. It was also reassuring that when Kieran was not immediately available his team were equally up to date with progress, and the inter-team communication was exemplary. Moving House is a traumatic experience but Kieran’s continuing optimism and cheerful personality kept us all sane. A first class job from a lovely man- Thanks Kieran... Read more

Terrible letting agents, never again!
They forced me to accept tenants I'd only met for 5 mins, just to secure the income. I paid for references which they said I would be able to see, but didn't allow me to anything. I had to insist months later when they started paying late after the FIRST month. I'm still dealing with bailiffs/debt recovery agents chasing them many months after vacating, it has been so stressful.
Hurst are not proactive at all, you have to continually chase them to get things done. This is passive income for them. My tenants moved out and I got my keys back 8 months later, which I had to collect despite me asking them to return them to me.
I am SO disappointed, but they don't care. They've had my money. What a waste! Disgraceful company. Shame on you.... Read more

We met Adam Driver a few years ago when we asked him to value our property . We eventually decided not to sell at that time , but we were impressed with both his professionalism and his integrity and so had no hesitation using him and Hursts again. Despite the rather stagnant state of the housing market in August 2023 Hursts managed to sell our house for us within about 4weeks . By helping our prospective buyers find a different lender Adam managed to sell our property for virtually what we asked.
He kept us fully aware of both what we needed to do and how things were progressing with our sale .As we had not sold a property for over 30 years it was a daunting prospect , but Adam answered any questions that we had and put us at ease at all times .
Other than the fact he supports Watford , we haven’t got a bad word to say about him and would definitely use him and Hursts in future should the need arise .
Finally , we would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending Hurst Estate Agents to anyone interested in buying or selling a property in the future . A massive thank you to Adam and all the Hurst team .

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
