Absolutely appalling service. No one from the Slough branch will ever call you or respond to your queries. Head office will book viewing and then when you call for a confirmation they say "oh we are a support network, we cannot do anything". Wouldn't reccomd you going through these agents. Completely rubbish and waste of time. They need to get their act together. Sellers beware. Buyers, avoid at all cost.

I have just sold my property via Chancellors....

Firstly, I was given an unrealistic valuation of the property, to convince me to sign an agreement that will not allow me to sell the property myself or via another estate agent.

2 weeks after signing, I was told I need to reduce the price of my property by £70,000 in order it for sell, we decided only to drop this by £40,000 and still managed to get the sale.

We was told Chancellors will be managing all viewings and that there experience sales team will help get the sale in by meeting customers and talking about all the benefits etc. We had 8 customers come and view the property and chancellors did not attend any viewings and we was the sales people on the day talking to the customers about the property.

Once we had an offer from the customer, they gave the customer my personal phone number and he than just spoke with myself directly about 2nd viewings and solicitors requirements etc, Chancellors did not get in touch at all.

We had a call from Chancellors on the day of completion and asked us to drop the keys to the Slough office.

So from us signing the contract and selling the house, we met 1 person twice. They did not attend any viewings or help get the sale done in any way.

I feel I was conned out of £5700+VAT.

Tried selling my property via this estate agent that says they where the best.when the valuation took place we did say there was 2 owner my ex wife and myself.after 3 or so weeks I got the contract and signed then did my security/money laundering checks. We kept chasing as my ex wife still had not received a contract to sign.shortly after I spoke with someone I received an email saying I owe them money as they cancelled my contract under frustration and that I had not done my security checks which I had done. They said they have stopped marketing my property for which I’ve not see pictures or even description of the advertisement. I’m now being threatened with legal action for money that they say I owe. Stay clear of these and make sure you use email which I have done as evidence for which I will use in court if it goes that far.

SELLERS, read before you decide to sell your property here.

Always difficult to reach sales person. They don't return the call. As a buyer if they don't even care to give call back or provide appointment, I wonder how will this company succeed in selling a property?

14/Mar/20- I am changing my rating to 1 (from 3) based on recent experience. Three calls were made but still they could not find the property in their which they have advertised in rightmove. Untrained staff, careless customer service.
It's a nightmare for the buyers to get a viewing appointment.
1. They don't mention the street name in their advert. They provide the information as 'Slough,Berkshire,SL3' but irritatingly they ask the caller to tell the street name of the property to locate it in their system.

After having owned our own house for over 35years the thought of renting was daunting but Adam made the process extremely easy, he listened to our needs and found us the perfect apartment. Having had to then deal with someone else for referencing Adam gave us his personal number so we could contact him whenever we needed him.
Highly recommended as he provided a personal service.

Our house was sold through chancellors. Great service. Bobby was a agent who helped us a lot with the sale of the house. Whenever we called or emailed him he would respond very quickly. He also contacted me frequently with updates in regards to the sale of my house. He cared a lot about our situation and cannot thank him enough for helping us out as much as he did.

Awful service - placed an offer on a property - was liaising with Amrita, instead of finding out whether my offer would be accepted my details have been passed on to a third party company who 'would do anti money laundering checks' this same company also wants to do my conveyancing and conveniently chancellors may receive a financial incentive if i sign up to them. further I placed my offer over a month ago still no response, Amrita seems to have forgotten how a keyboard works and does not even have the courtesy to reply to my emails. Have asked to speak to a manager but i won't hold my breath. Awful service. Avoid.

Seriously, avoid! Dealing with Chancellors-Headington has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever gone through- and this is even before the start of the tenancy. They don't reply to emails or phone calls - you literally have to chase them for basic communication. After agreeing with me about a break clause, they changed it in the contract they sent me (without discussing this with me), giving the landlord an exclusive right to break the tenancy agreement. I had to complain about that and wait for two weeks for it to be changed. And although I asked them repeatedly about the Right to Rent and what is required, nobody replied to me, and only two days before moving they informed me that I have to go for a physical check of my passport at the branch or else they won't release the keys. Irrespective of my time, the fact that I live 3-hours away from Oxford, and the current virus situation that demands people are given enough time to arrange safe transportation. I ignored all the negative comments that people write here thinking they are just exaggerations, but seriously take care! I'm stuck because I already signed the agreement and I have to move out from my current accommodation. But if you are still in an early stage of the process, try to search for an agency that respects you and can handle things professionally. Or even contact a landlord/lady directly, they will handle things much better than that!

Overall quite a decent experience. We worked with Holly and she was really helpful in getting onto enquiries and kept communications going well. her colleague Daniel also helped us out quite a bit. I would say the post selling team in bracknell needs some work to improve their service and communications, having said that Holly and Daniel at the Abingdon branch were there to pick up and frustrations and chased up when we needed them too so they certainly went above and beyond and would certainly recommend working with them.

Daniel Freeman himself was great in branch and very easy to get hold of the whole time we were letting a property through Chancellors.

However, once the paperwork is signed you don't talk to the people in branch but to people in a centralised office and they are terrible. We got bounced between people who didn't know anything about our property, and that's if we got through at all. We often left messages and emailed and were ignored. But if we missed a call from them we were sure to get a snarky email about how "hard to contact" we were. We were repeatedly asked the same questions and got many calls trying to get us to buy through them once we'd sold out house no matter how many time we told them we weren't interested.
Chancellors also failed to organise any repairs on the house requested by the tenants and us, saying they needed to get a quote and then ghosting us. The tenants requested a simple gate fix in December that was never organised by Chancellors before they moved out in August, despite us constantly chasing them. Chancellors also took money from the rent without warning us or asking permission and it took weeks of calling them to get them to explain what this was for.
Its probably not the staff themselves that caused these problems but the system of having a centralised office of people who have to work on various areas and with various people without anyone getting to build a relationship or knowledge of the case.
We were letting our property through Chancellors and marketing it for sale through them at the same time. Some of the staff at Chancellors were rude about the other agent we were marketing the house with but the other agent got ten times the number of viewings Chancellors did and they were the ones who sold the house.

Basically the people in branch are great but get ready to never talk to them again once you sign anything. Terrible service that made everything much more stressful than it needed to be. Would avoid and not recommend to anyone.
