I have dealth with a few letting Agents over the past few months and found Chancellors to be reliable, informative and professional at all times. They kept me regularly up date with visits due and reliable feed back was given within a timely manner. I have nothing but praised for the Manager Tim in the Wokingham office and feel they are the best Letting Agents in Berkshire. My best friend has utilised Chancellors Letting Agents in Oxford and the same feedback applies to Chancellors. Brillant service.

Well where do you start.

Firstly this is not a reflection on the Sales team. They have been pleasurable to communicate with but little they can do in terms of letting.

THE LETTINGS TEAM ARE A JOKE. TIMOTHY IN PARTICULAR!!!!! NO RESPONSE, LITTLE CORRESPONDANCE AND PURE COMMUNICATION.

The background.

A young couple apply to rent a property. The young lady is 15 weeks pregnant and looking to up size due to arrival and a growing family.

Usual viewings etc takes place and an application is applied for to rent a property. All the paperwork etc is submitted and the couple await the response from letting team and landlord after compulsory checks are complete.

During this period Chancellors are advising the couple to hand notice of termination to their current letting agreement with another landlord. They DO NOT take this advice until 100% the letting agreement is signed by all parties.
This was a struggle as the letting team did not know a particular body part from their elbow.

15 Days after signed agreement an email is received from Chancellors informing the couple that the landlord has withdrawn. NO REASON OR EXPLANATION. JUST AN EMAIL. NO PHONE CALL FROM LETTING TEAM OFFERING ANY OTHER PROPERTIES OR ADVICE!!!!! JUST AN EMAIL.

There is now a young couple 15 weeks pregnant having handed in their Notice to terminate soon to be homeless.

We recently had the misfortune to be involved with Chancellors of Wokingham who are an embarrassment to the estate agent profession.

First of all we were booked in to view a property, we turned up to the postcode provided to find it was the wrong property. We eventually viewed the correct property which we decided to rent. We were shown around by one of their agents who said that paperwork would be completed in due course. I had to chase the paperwork as it was never emailed, it eventually arrived and was completed but then I had to chase them up again at least twice over the next couple of weeks as nothing was happening and we had heard absolutely nothing.

Then on the 21st December 2019, just as we were leaving work for the Christmas holidays, we were emailed all the paperwork (which was full of mistakes) which we were expected to complete over the Christmas period - obtaining references when everyone is away is almost impossible. Then on the 02 January 2020, the day before we were due to move into the property, we were informed that the landlady had pulled out of the deal (still unsure why, we were told that she wants the house to go to a family (!), yet here we are with the money burning a hole in our pockets) and we were left high and dry!

We were informed that the agent who we had been dealing with and who had shown us around the property in the first place had "unexpectedly and mysteriously" also left the company! All in all, an absolutely appalling "service" was provided, I certainly would not recommend these estate agents.

In order to publish this review, Google requires a star rating so I have left one star, but in all honesty, I truthfully would rate them with a zero. I eagerly await my rent payment being paid back into my bank account and thank Chancellors for being the biggest waste of time ever.

Not very happy experience as landlord. Firstly not honest about tenant's pets; secondly not a single inspection had been done through out a year untill I finally got hold of area manager towards end of tenancy agreement;Last, when it came to re-marketing my property , they seemed not very motivated, apart from pushing me to drop price. I gave three stars because the people working there are friendly , polite and sound professional even in challenging situations. When it comes to doing job properly, I would not recommend them. Will not use them again .

We chose chancellors to sell our home as we were impressed with the honesty in the valuation they gave us. We then had Eleanor Jones as our main contact during the selling process and cannot praise her enough for her professional and honest attitude during the whole process. We were communicated to on every aspect and if Eleanor was unavailable she would ensure Jame's or George kept us up to date. We found all the staff we had contact with in chancellors East Oxford, were nothing but professional and courteous both with ourselves and the prospective buyers of our property. We would definitely recommend and use again if we ever needed to in the future.

I would just like to take a moment to express my thanks to Chancellors. I have been very happy and satisfied with the service provided from Chancellors. I booked in my valuation with Ella who was very polite, knowledgeable and very understanding of my difficult situation when it came to valuing my property but also selling it the property. I have then had constant updates and reassurance from the rest of the team. I will be doing further business with the company in the future.

I have recently rented a property through the East Oxford branch and I have to say, they were fantastic. From start to finish they were really professional and made the whole experience, which could have been stressful, very pleasant. I spoke with Helen Wood who listened to me from start to finish, which is something I value as my requirements were specific. She showed me a range of properties which were all suited to me and didn't stray from the requirements. The main thing that stood out for me was how responsive she was which I found hard to find with other agents. I have been in the property a while and touch wood, nothing has gone wrong yet but I know I can count on Chancellors to sort them out straight away.

As a first time renter I found the prospect of finding a property daunting, I had heard all the horror stories on the Oxford housing market and was doubting whether I would be able to find a suitable property. I approached Chancellors and was impressed with how attentive they were, I spoke with Adam and he showed me a wide range of properties and gave me honest recommendations on what would suit my needs. I still needed time before I could move in but Adam understood this and would frequently update me on which properties had been added or removed. We've been in the property a while now and I can say how impressed I am with the aftercare, through no ones fault our shower malfunctioned but this was fixed the next day all arranged through chancellors, I would thoroughly recommend them to any house hunter in Oxford.
