One month after moving, giving myself time to reflect and consider before writing this review: Dennis, Julie and the team proved to be absolutely amazing throughout the whole process of selling our Crowthorne home, pretty much managing the entire transaction, liasing frequently and closely with ourselves, our solicitors, our sellers estate agents and our buyers estate agents with warmth, compassion, assertive patience, diligence and professionalism. I can think of no criticism, constructive or otherwise, to offer (or cast) and I believe our buyers have experienced the same. Nor am I aware of anyone that I've discussed our move with that has had an experience that has come close. I have, I am and I shall continue to recommend them wholeheartedly.... Read more

Absolutely terrible branch! They showed no interest in helping. We rented a property that had mold. The straightforward solution was to replace the windows, but they went to great lengths to avoid doing this. (Reply to ur response: you only visited when you had to make checks, you never came to actually check the issue I have mentioned. As for current tenants, you might addressed the issue when we left as you couldn’t find someone…)... Read more

We looked to sell our house 2020, We instructed Northwood to carry out this service as Denis seemed very professional and really got behind us. From the start Denis and his amazing team really did make this a pleasure to be working with. They valued our house above what we were expecting @£475,000 and with our neighbour selling the same style of house for £410,000 and had been for a few months with a different agent. I was quite excited to watch the friendly competition start. Pictures were taken and then we had a one weekend of visits. On the Monday morning we had the great news that we had 3 offers 2 at FULL ASK!!!!! Gob smacked we sold the house within 48hrs... As for the competition, well there isn't is there. Northwood clearly have the talent and skill set to actually do what they say. Obviously they carried on this brilliant standard through the rest of the sale with excellent communication. I do and will continue to go out of my way to recommend. Thank you very much to Denis, Julie and the rest of the great team.... Read more

I've used Northwood Wokingham team's guaranteed rent service for over a year now and have been very happy with their service. They made the move over to them very easy. Also they guided me on what I needed to do before the property was let out i.e. what documents that I needed in place. I used Northwood Wokingham’s rental service over the last 2 years, until recent sale of my property. As an accidental landlord, I had no experience with letting out properties, knowledge of government regulations and tenant rights. From the get go, Northwood Wokingham patiently guided me in getting the right certifications in place and were very flexible with my requests regarding marketing my property to prospective tenants. This is an excellent letting agency and we strongly recommend Northwood in Wokingham. As a remote landlord with multiple properties in the area, we rely on a local letting agent. Northwood in Wokingham always goes that 'extra mile' to ensure we have worry-free tenancy transfers and quality tenants. Key to our relationship is their positive attitude to foreseeing or resolving any issues; recommending local trades and services, timely reminders of legislative requirements such as certification and being on hand to allow access. That said, being a landlord is a financial transaction and agency costs are a major expense, Northwood's fees and charges are reasonable and undoubtedly we enjoy good value for money. We have experience of other agencies and are approaching 20 years of working exclusively with Northwood in Wokingham, that tells its own story and we recommend them to any local landlord.... Me and my girlfriend rented from Northwood for only 6 months but in that time, the whole team were very helpful and fantastic from start to finish. Our time with Northwood was positive due to the issues we had and the small amount of time they took to resolve. We had a leak in the roof and they sent numerous people out to rectify the situation. They were always at the end of the phone to answer the thousand and one questions I had. I would highly recommend Northwood and if they had a property that we liked after we had to move on, I would have kept with them.... Read more

Lying, manipulative, bullying, out of touch – avoid at all costs! We were paying Northwoods almost 30% commission to be on the guaranteed rent scheme which was sold very well to us initially by Denis. He’s a very good salesman, I’ll give him that. However, now I can’t believe a word that he has said. You can actually buy guaranteed rent insurance for around £150 a year, which covers you just as well as this scheme does. Anyway, we wanted to move on to the Fully Managed service which costs 15% commission. I broached the subject with Denis and was immediately met with abrupt emails about it being impossible to do unless we serve notice on the tenant. Obviously, that’s something we didn’t want to do, and we made that clear straight away. Northwoods used this to try and blackmail us in to staying. Here are some highlights from the whole process: - Denis bringing my family in to it to emotionally blackmail me into staying with Northwoods. (Northwoods said that they were just being friendly, but in the two years that we had been with them, they not once asked about my family). - Blackmailing us in to staying by forcing our hand in evicting the current tenants. (Northwoods said that this was in their contract and they were entitled to do it. But, they knew that we wouldn’t budge on this point and so used it maliciously. They could have quite easily kept the tenants in there and in the end, they did offer us this, but too much had passed for us to accept). - Lying about the fact the tenants had to be kicked out, giving us false information. (Northwoods said that it’s in their contract. However, it is not the law, you cannot force tenants to leave in this situation. They lied to us and still continue to do so. So this point I will be taking up with Property Ombudsman as they are giving out false information). - Refusing to do viewings for new tenants (Northwoods stated that this was the tenants decision, but from what I now know about Northwoods, I think their hand was heavily pushed in to this decision). - Refusing to tell us that you had found the tenants a new house until the last minute, giving us very little time to fill the house (Northwoods knew we struggling with money and yet they went out of their way to ensure that we would lose money). - Asking us for the ridiculous sum of £1,140 to change service when they knew the reason we wanted to change was because we were struggling financially. (Northwoods claim that this sum was calculated as 6 months compensation to them, which is ridiculous in itself, but they claim they were entitled to it. We had just paid 30% to them over two years and now they wanted to rinse us more). - Lying to me about the tenants insisting I take a new 3 year contract with Northwoods. (Northwoods still claim the tenant insisted on this, which, after speaking to the tenant myself, there is no way they ‘insisted’ on it. The tenant actually asked me to cut Northwoods out of the whole thing and rent the house to them independently.) - Making things even more difficult for the new tenants by leaving the house uncleaned and damaged and refusing to clean the carpets or pay for the damaged decking. (Northwoods said that Denis went out to inspect the house and then they got the clean done properly. They think they did the right thing and were helpful by sending Denis out, but what it actually looks like is that Northwoods didn’t believe the new tenant and wanted to see for themselves. What would have been helpful would have been Northwoods agreeing with the picture evidence that was sent to them and getting the house cleaned properly, and also paying for the damages left by the previous tenant. Thankfully we are now safely with Martin and Co with a new tenant in the house and are very happy with them. I cannot recommend Northwoods at all to anyone looking for an estate agent as they seem to lie through their teeth and have no remorse about it. I did ask Northwoods for an apology and got a stern reply back and no apology forthcoming.... Read more

I recently bought my home with Northwood Estate Agents Wokingham branch. I found every member of the team I dealt with to be very professional and a pleasure to deal with. I would like to specifically note Julie for being so on-the-ball and uptodate throughout the whole process. If I was ever in need of an estate agents again I would welcome the opportunity to deal with any of the estate agents in the Northwood team. In hindsight I wish we had sold our property with Northwood also (the same positive feedback could not be given for the estate agents we sold through).... Read more

Right from our first contact this team greatly impressed. We had 7 estate agents visit our property, including the cartel, from the outset Denis arrived casually dressed and with a genuine smile not a forced,’we need the business grimace.’ His relaxed air and genuine interest in what we were doing left us with no doubt that we would use Wokingham Northwood.
