Generally very good service provided. I will not give 5 stars as there were several problems caused by the vendor and solicitors, making communications with vendor very inefficient. This slowed down proceedings, most notably incorrect listing of service charge and insurance by vendor, which were not checked by solicitors. The vendor did not respond at all, which caused problems for Charters and my bank account. Overall Charters helped to sort out these and other problems. I was not going to review , but the second request made me do it. Overall Charters good. Problems were caused by vendor and solicitors and their lack of diligence.

We have recently sold through Charters. Although we sold quite quickly, I believe this was due to the house and its location rather than the sales team representing us. The lack of knowledge, despite us providing full information about our property numerous times, was shocking. After the sale was agreed, communication was consistently slow, unclear, or non-existent, and I often had to chase for basic updates.
Professionalism was lacking, and every time I called for an update (as I never received any phone calls), I was made to feel very uncomfortable by Jo at the Park Gate office. Considering Charters have been around for years, I expected far better service and accountability.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this agency and would advise others to consider more independent estate agents, as they are far more helpful and professional.

I kid you not.. Jonathan Pinhorne has personally sent more than 10 letters through since our house has been on the market asking for our business (it's been on the market only a few months).. Guy doesn't take a hint. Clearly keeping companies like Dunder Mifflin in business. Big thumbs down.

I had the most efficient agent in Stacey Walters at Charters Fareham after a very difficult conveyancing. He did everything to help finalise my sale. So far so great!!! We have been on the market with Charters for a few days & we already have 2 viewings booked in! This is in stark contrast to the previous estate agent we were using (who will remain nameless). All staff who we've interacted with thus far have been phenomenal although a special shout-out to the following:
Sarah - For being a truly wonderful estate agent, showing us round homes & being completely open & honest (not usual in my dealings with estate agents). Was passionate & easy-to-talk to.
Storme - Absolute powerhouse, full of energy & easy to talk to. Delivers exactly what she says she will.
The rest of the team are also exceptionally lovely people, Kerry, Tilly & Jonathan.
All you've got to do now guys is sell our house! No pressure!

I'd like to start this review by saying that Tilly and Sarah in the sales team were a pleasure to deal with and a credit to their industry.
We recently purchased a property through Charters and despite our initial positive impression through the sales team, we had several issues with the sales progression team.
We were repeatedly mislead, lied to and pressured into time and financial commitments. The sales progression team lost control of our purchase and kept lying to us to 'keep us on the hook'. We had undue pressure put on us to financially commit despite being in full knowledge that the sellers were lacking behind, repeatedly telling us that we don't want to be the reason to hold up the sale.
This happened on several occasions where they were lying to not only ourselves, but our solicitors. It reached such a level we had to escalate our case to senior management.
I'd be very wary trusting Charters to sell a property which is one of the most important and stressful times. Unfortunately, they have reinforced the stereotype around estate agents and we would be reluctant to purchase a property listed by Charters in the future.

The Worst Ever Estate Agent for lettings. Nobody at the Office will deal with you, they sub-let out everything, and you have to work in the Cloud with for credit checks, maintenance, etc. I left my flat 4 weeks ago in perfect condition and they still are finding excuses not to refund me, they refused to come and meet me in the flat and confirm it was left in good condition.

The team at Charters have been great. Our house sold in 2.5 days and when it fell through 10 weeks in through no fault of theirs, the team sprang into action again - and I have no doubt it will sell quickly again. A special mention has to go to Lisa, who chases through the sales to exchange and completion and is one of the most professional and helpful people I have encountered. Handling the back & forth between buyer and seller cannot be easy. But Lisa manages it with good humour and obvious dedication to getting the job done in the right way.

We used Charters for their Lettings side of the agency. A seamless service starting with Adam, Lettings Manager, who was understanding of our needs, patient and courteous whilst dealing with several generations of the family, all new to the landlord game!
Clear communications all the way, nothing too much trouble, no question too stupid! Adam was clear that our property was not the norm, managed our expectations, knew the market, tenant now in.
Delighted with the service received and would highly recommend, definitely 5* worthy!

Having had a number of very bad experiences with Estate Agents in the past (poor communication, broken promises, lies and so on), I feared all Estate Agents were the same; how wrong I was! Aidan and the team at Charters have made the experience of selling our property so easy and pain free. Aidan listened to all our concerns (and moans), and kept every single promise he made. Aidan is always on hand (even on days off) for any questions or helpful advice, he is open and honest; the most genuine and personable Agent I have encountered.
I certainly wouldn't use another Estate Agent and cannot recommend Aidan and Charters highly enough. Thank you to Aidan and the team at Charters for giving us such a fantastic service and restoring our faith!
