As first-time buyers, Alex and Adam were helpful, responsive and made genuine efforts to keep things moving.<br><br>Despite there being no chain, the process took around four months, which was longer than we had expected and at times frustrating. Much of the delay came from the legal side, where the solicitor had been recommended by the estate agent. While this was outside Alex and Adam’s direct control, it did make the purchase feel more drawn out than anticipated.<br><br>In the final stages, Alex was particularly helpful pushing to ensure the completion date was before Christmas. Without that persistence, the process would likely have taken significantly longer.<br><br>Overall, they are a good estate agency that was let down by association rather than by the service provided by Alex and Adam.

The other two estate agents came across as pushy, over confident, wanted to be mates, discussing holidays.<br>Adam, the manager at DB Roberts, was quietly confident, professional but not pushy. He didn't give us the sales talk, didn't fetch out loads of print outs of similar properties in the area for comparison.<br>He gave us a good estimate of what the property was worth, without going over the top, he was complimentary, business like, and we found him reassuring.<br>His staff have kept us informed of viewings, feedback and gave us sound advice.<br>We sold 2 months after it went on the market.<br>Excellent result.

The whole experience has been fairly stress free. Dan came out to see me, having done his research, he gave a realistic valuation for the bungalow. The fees seemed reasonable so I signed up. They confirmed that I already had a solicitor handling the sale, unlike a different company there was "no hard sell" or lectures. The property was marketed promptly with the agents covering the viewings.<br>The bungalow sold quickly but 5 weeks later, the prospective purchasers became unreasonable so it was back on the market. At this stage most of my dealings were with Alex who offered me very good advice. Numerous viewings were made and the 1st couple, after spending 1hr with Alex, who then followed up the next day, made an offer which I accepted. After all the checks, ie who was in the chain, had been made the other viewings were cancelled. At all times I have been kept informed about the process. I can't fault them all the staff have been excellent.

Initially I chose DB Roberts because they were rated in the top 5.
They overvalued property so I chose to go with the lower end of their valuation and then called them to reduce based on my local research (that valuer has since left).
Locked in exclusivity for 12 weeks (just a week or two late to benefit from buyer stamp duty holiday).
Had about 5/6 viewings and didn't really hear anything so I'd given up by week 5 and had to wait before listing with another agent.
Listed with another agent at the end of stamp duty holiday - had more viewings in the first 4 days than in the 12 weeks with DB Roberts (pretty much every week had 3-4 viewings with new agent) and received 3 offers in six weeks.
I'm not sure what the new agent was doing differently or if they just had a greater pool of potential buyers but they seemed more effective.
