The agents were great at getting people to view and getting offers at and over market value, but after an offer was accepted it the process fell apart. I had two offers fall through because the sales progression team did nothing to move the sale along and the buyers got tired of waiting. The 3rd offer I accepted took almost 8 months from accepting the offer to signing contracts. In total my house was on the market for almost 2 years before finally selling, so the money over asking price that I sold it for was irrelevant in the end due to my monthly bills. Avoid Edward Mellor in Levenshulme and go for Sanderson James or Peter Anthony instead.

I’ve had a really positive experience with Edward Mellor. Joann has been fantastic. I made her aware that I was hoping my property could be sold quickly and with her guidance and expert advice, I now have an offer after only a few weeks on the market! Joann was incredibly professional, transparent and kept me up to date with everything that was happening. I have been really happy with the service I have received and would definitely recommend Edward Mellor in the future.

I called on Friday to enquire about a viewing and the woman I spoke to couldn’t have been more rude. It was obvious that on that day the last thing she wanted to do was work. All she did was give me snappy responses and when she finally did mention I could go and see the house at 11:30am on Saturday, she then snapped again saying ‘well you need to complete the form I’ll send you really quick otherwise someone else will take your spot’ and then she proceeded to say that it will be a block viewing so I asked if it’s possible to perhaps arrange a private viewing as I wasn’t particularly keen on a block viewing and she hang up on me straight away?? If this is how your agents behave and speak to customers then I really wonder how you manage to sell or let anything. Wouldn’t recommend and I’d avoid any future property listings if I will see your name on it.

Kate was very professional, patiently explaining every step in the process of listing the house and the options which were available. She made the whole experience stress-free and actually quite fun! 9 months on, I can say Edward Mellor staff at the Levenshulme branch are super. They made life so much easier when law firms and other assorted professionals dragged their heels or just plain mishandled stuff. I can recommend them whole-heartedly - and I do to any person in a similar situation.

Edward Mellor were great from start to finish. Our valuation by James ended up being the most accurate of the four agents we received a valuation from, and he even got the amount of weeks we could expect to wait for an offer right.
From then Edward Mellor were always very speedy with their responses and we felt well informed throughout the process. Special thanks to Nia and Joann for their stellar work in getting us an acceptable offer through a good number of viewings at times which were easy for us to work around.

A reality of life is that, as a buyer, you can't choose the seller's estate agent.
These people are either overworked or lazy. I think the former. It's impossible to get in touch with them, and across months they have NEVER called me back about an issue, a query, or anything. The process until the offer was accepted saw them proactive and useful, after that? Nothing.
To give you an idea, the agent responsible for my case was *on leave* on the day of completion. I had no idea until I called in on the day, and we had an outstanding enquiry since 9 days before, that needed to be answered on the very day. All she had to do was tell us and we'd have completed the next day, but did she? No. I had to sort everything myself.
After the accepted offer, the only call I EVER got from them was one asking "have you completed yet?". No other callbacks on anything. Ever.
In short, dear sellers, steer clear of this agency if you want your buyers to receive anything that vaguely resembles service. They're probably doing that "quantity over quality" thing.
