I was sceptical about the asking price that was recommended for my house, however, Chris (Hazel grove branch manager) was very confident with his appraisal and this gave me even more confidence to proceed with Edward Mellor.

If i could give zero i would. We were buyers and Edward mellor were friendly until we received our keys. Seller had left the house in an awful state, ourselves and our solicitors have tried contacting edward mellor (less then an hour after getting the keys from them) for assistance and we were told its not their problem. Our solicitor confirmed normally in these situations estate agents are super helpful and get things resolved. Shame on you Edward Mellor Hazel Grove!!

There have been ups and downs in the process of selling my house, but the one person at Mellor who finally got me over the line was Tracey Higginson from the sales progression team, based out of the Woodley office . Tracey understood how I needed to manage the process between Exchange and Completion, took ownership of the problem, and directed all parties to get me what I needed - that included liaising with all solicitors and the buyer to get me over the line.
I would give 5 stars for Tracey herself. She took over when I had difficulty with a previous buyer, which is why I deducted a star.
But if you go with Mellor, ask for Tracey to progress your Sale. Highly Recommended.

Lovely experience with this estate agents, I would highly recommend! After my experience with some other estate agents in Greater Manchester, they really were a breath of fresh air! Great communication, responsive, professional, very helpful, personable, super friendly and transparent! My purchase went through super quickly and was very simple thanks to their professionalism and work ethic. I was assisted primarily by Natalie who was absolutely lovely and she made me feel so at ease, I did my first viewing with her and she provided a lot of information about the property and area and I never felt rushed or like I couldn't ask questions. Not recommended, they are looking after whoever they know specially in the auction department, before this pandemic they would sell the property in the auction room but now every thing is online and nobody knows what happened behind the scene. please do not respond from Edward Mellor, as I know it's nonsense

Never ever would I recommend anyone to use Edward Mellor. They made the entire process twice as stressful as it should have been.
The estate agent, Jackie Stirling, in particular was very difficult to get information from. We were told several times that she would return my FIL's calls with an update. Never did. She seemed to think that because he wasn't the client, but instead had a grant of probate, she had no reason to keep him updated. Our lawyer advised that he had a legal right to know to be kept informed of the progress of his mother's property. We told Jackie this and she clearly did not care.
Communication was so poor that my FIL didn't even know that the sale had competed until he walked into the house to see the buyers in there. When explaining the embarrassing situation, the buyers even said how poor Edward Mellor, specifically Jackie, have been. At one point, both sides thought that the other was dropping out because of the lack of communication, when that was not the intention at all. Stressful for both parties.

Pretty awful. Never ever return calls which made us very worried as we wondered what would happen if a potential buyer called and they didn't call them back to confirm the viewing?? Ian was extremely helpful and did all he could. We were sold the dream package and were told our house would be sold in a matter of weeks but after being on the market for 12 weeks and only having 2 viewings, it was time to call it a day! Poor service
