Alicia was nothing less than phenomenal at selling my property. We dealt with a tough market and she stuck to it right til the end. The buyer would certainly have backed out had it not been for Alicia's persistence. In addition there were times when Alicia went beyond her requirements by stepping in for instance when a tenant locked themselves out, saving me travel time even though she had no obligation to do so. I would HIGHLY recommend you use Ellis and ask specifically for Alicia as she will certainly give your property the best chance in any market.

One of the worst agencies in London. Make sure as a renter you take clear pictures of the property as they will input everything at the end of the tenancy. We received a stained mattress when we rented a property 5 years ago. They said that the mattress was new and provided a picture taken prob 10 years ago where you can actually see the staines if you zoom in. They also asked for money for items that were not broken but the property owner wanted to buy to get more money from the next tenant. They are also understaffed so any email you send them is answered in weeks instead of days. Save yourself some time and money and never work with them.

I have nothing but praise for Ellis and Co. and their senior negotiator, Alicia, who achieved the best possible price for the sale of my property. It was by no means a straight forward sale. To the contrary, it was a long and complex negotiation involving a large organisation with many sub-departments involved. This required extensive liaising and coordinating by Alicia to keep the process on course for exchange of contracts. She was quick to provide me with updates on progress and always worked for my best interest. Her sense of humour was a plus in keeping one feeling positive when I had doubts, at times, of the sale going through. I cannot recommend Alicia Casingena at Ellis and Co enough for selling my flat. Selling and moving homes can be a stressful process with ups and downs, but I was in a safe pair of hands with Alicia. She went above and beyond what I would have expected from an estate agent, from finding the right buyer, marketing at the correct price, pushing through the sale quickly with solicitors to helping with every last detail of the final move and completion. She gave me the correct advice throughout. I am aware there are cheap online alternatives, but with the current market ever evolving during Covid, an experienced estate agent in the area is needed if you actually want to sell a home quickly. I can't thank Alicia enough for her hard work, honesty and professionalism from start to finish. She was always available and answered any question I had straight away. 2 witnesses listened to the conversation.
I m seeking for legal advice against those outrageous people.
After my post they then changed their mind straight away and returned my deposit.
So it was a lie that they didn't have my banking details....

I called them one time as there was a dead rat somewhere in the kitchen but they just ignore me. We suffered for 2 months. Also the place is full of yobs dealing drugs. In short, if you are a tenant stay away from this money making agency
(money making, but draining the tenants last funds).
Firstly, I would like to say, in case Ellis and Co tries to discredit
my review by stating that they have cross-referenced their records and
couldn’t match my name. I prefer to keep my full name private rather
than blurting it out left and right on online platforms.
Secondly, I would like to make all tenants (or potential ones) aware
that most positive reviews on here have one thing in common and that
is: They are composed by landlords.
So without going into much detail, if you are a tenant I would stay
away from this agency (at least the Golders Green branch that is).
I should have been more suspicious from the start, when I was shown
the property and promised a two year contract. Made my holding deposit
and referencing payments and then being told that a break clause will
be put into place, stating that the landlord can raise the rent by
£150 after one year’s tenancy. The exact figure was then taken out of
the clause, but the breaking clause and potential raise remained in
the contract. Unfortunately, at this stage I couldn’t withdraw myself
from the contract without losing a considerable sum of money.
Throughout the tenancy neither the landlord nor the agency have been
particularly considerate. E.g. refusing to install a security light at
the entrance and insuring our safety (considering that there were
several break-ins in the area).
When my circumstances have changed and I was forced to move out, the
agency was neither understanding nor considerate nor helpful.
Upon check-out, I have left the flat in a spotless and perfect
condition and it appears that they couldn’t find any issues, so had to
make the up. First mentioning an area and pretending it to be my
responsibility. After comparing the two check in and check out
inventories, they removed that claim, coming up with three other
claims and stating overpriced quotes. As an example: Charging for a
light bulb replacement 15 pounds (not to mentioned the fact that also
in this case the liability and responsibility is debatable).
Last but not least, be aware of the 30 day deposit payback clause. By
law under the deposit protection scheme, the landlord is required to
pay the deposit back within ten days. Ellis and Co puts a clause in
their contracts to break this law.

We used the services of Ellis and Co recently to sell our house. Jason Davis was acting on behalf and did an excellent job of the sale and found us a buyer within 5 weeks of instruction. They were instructed on a joint basis with another agent but Jason was off the mark very quickly and had the property listed and a viewing arranged before the other agent had even photographed the property. Jason kept us up to date with viewings and feedback. Also, I have to point out that Ellis and co were pretty much on the mark with their valuation of the property and did well to manage our expectations during the sale process. James Ryan, the principal of Ellis and Co- Golders Green had acted on behalf of the owners when we bought the property in 2008, and even then, from a buyers point of view, he did a stellar job for the then owners by driving a very hard bargain!
These guys are professional and very good at what they do. No hesitation in recommending them!

Overall good experience and would definitely use them again. strengths including knowing local market, rapid feedback, and when things got stuck, been very much part of getting things moving through the inevitable bumps. Not quite a 5* as we one of the bumps was obviously challenge, and took a bit of time to appreciate needed that push (critical path issue), however this was minor and definitely not their responsibility but would have given that wow factor.

I have been very happy with how Jason Davis handled the sale of our property.
He worked non-stop to make sure the sale went through , liasing between the purchaser, the two sets of solicitors, and myself in order to proceed the sale as quickly as possible. Extremely pleasant experience selling our flat through Ellis & Co, Golders Green.
Agents were instructed on 15th May 2013 after agreeing a selling price. Their fliers went out on-line & by post 17th May 2013. Viewings were arranged and a number of prospective buyers viewed the flat. Full feed back of viewings was passed on to us via email and telephone call. Offer accepted 29th May 2013. Contracts exchanged 12 July 2013 and completion took place 19 July 2013. Could have been faster had solicitors not been on vacation.
That is what I would call a first class professionally handled transaction. Thank you James Klienman.

I sold my mother's house through Ellis & Co. of Golders Green whom I selected after interviewing four local agents. They all seemed to be good but Ellis just had the edge.
Jason was my contact throughout the process. He was very proactive in ensuring that the buyer's solicitor was on track and also chased me up when I was slow to respond to the buyer's enquiries.
And the sale? The house sold at the asking price within one day. Ellis contacted potential buyers on their hot list of clients. Two viewed the property and the second one made an offer. Jason encouraged him to offer the full price and he did.
Was I satisfied with Ellis's service? I was.
Would I recommend them? You betcha!

Melissa fought our corner when our landlady was refusing to sort out a water pressure problem that we complained about after 2 days of living there.
