I honestly don’t even know where to start. We’ve had Dan’s flat on the market with Fox & Sons Gosport since 23rd October and it’s just been one disappointment after another. The place was tenanted at the time so I get that the agent couldn’t control the mess, but the photos they took were just awful.. and I don’t just mean the state of the flat. The actual quality of the photos was terrible. No care, no effort, nothing remotely creative. It feels like they just turned up, snapped a few pics and left.
Now the tenants have moved out (30th Nov) they’re supposed to be retaking them, but honestly I’m not even confident the new ones will be any better.
We’ve had zero viewings since the property went live. Not one. And when Dan asked about doing a video walkthrough (which other agents seem to offer easily and professionally), the agent basically said they don’t really do that. No explanation, just reluctance. Why is nobody trying? Why is there no push?
I had a flat on the market with Lawson Rose a few years ago and they were brilliant.. they even recommended Fox & Sons in Gosport because they don’t cover the area, and I’m honestly shocked at the difference in service.
To make it worse, they got the number of bathrooms wrong on the listing (said it had one, when it actually has a family bathroom AND an en-suite). How does that even happen?
Around 3 weeks in, they were already telling us to drop the price… even though the flat is only on the market for £10k more than it was bought for in 2018. Then last week they suggested we put it through iamsold at auction. It honestly felt like they were brushing us aside. Auction is quicker but at what cost? It didn’t feel like something in our best interests at all.. more like what was easiest for them. They still get their fees either way so where’s the motivation to actually sell it properly?
I spoke to Alex a couple of weeks ago and all I got was a load of “stats” read off a script. Dan rang and got the exact same speech. No real advice, no real plan. Just generic lines.
We even asked if we could bring in another agent alongside them (Charters), but apparently that’s not allowed under their T&Cs. Honestly though, I don’t feel like they’re doing much for us anyway so I don’t really see how this setup benefits us.
I’m really disappointed. I genuinely thought they’d be better than this and right now I don’t feel like they care whether the flat sells or not.

This company persistent harassment
Young Fox salesman entered my garden, past a "For Sale" board erected by another company who have spent time and money advertising the sale of my home and have been selected and contracted by me to do so .
This young salesman knocked on my door and admitted that he had been told by his manager to knock on the doors of houses with "For Sale" boards, that is industry standard procedure, and that all Estate agents act in the same way.
He did not leave when instructed to do so ,was belligerent and had the audacity to complain that I was disrespectful to him!!
I have every right to be angry at this type of intrusion onto my property
1. Cold calling in a no cold calling Zone
2. Entering my property curtilage ,uninvited ,that could be construed as trespassing
3. Knocking at my door ,uninvited,
4. When told to leave my property and to SHUT the gate, which was closed and bolted prior to his intrusion, he left the gate swinging open.
This is the latest manifestation of hassle from this company. Letters and, in particular phone calls.
I have consistently told the persons who phone that I do not want random, unsolicited phone calls.
I asked 3 companies to value my home 7 months ago . I placed my home on the market with chosen agent 2 months ago. Fox have been told that. They ignore,

I did ask for a valuation7 months ago, declined their services and placed my home on the market 2 months ago with one of the other companies that I had contacted.

Well, as a new migrant, my colleagues recommended fox and sons as the best letting agent in Gosport. On my first arrival, I met Oakley- the letting manager, his customer service management is topnotch. He is always well dressed, smart , cheerful, patience and ready to listen to all your complaints, reassuring and follows up immediately ????.
Kyle Wills is another lovely soul. Well, I'm not surprised because working with Oakley must have inspired him positively. He is so lovely, friendly and calm in his speech.

I have been letting my 2 properties through Fox & Sons for approx 12 yrs now and in fact moved one property over to them from another agent recently because i have complete confidence in them … Every one of the staff are extremely professional, knowledgeable, polite, friendly and beyond efficient.
Oakley has always dealt with my business and you could not ask for a better agent he is again extremely knowledgeable etc…
Also Kyle has recently been involved in letting my most recent property and is very professional etc… Both guys are everything you need in an agent but friendly and amiable to.
Oakley especially has helped me over the yrs , always there to answer queries & helped with problems we have had over the yrs of letting.
He has always placed quality tenants into my rentals with no gaps of tenancy agreements.You really cannot fault Oakley and all the guys at Fox & Sons Gosport.

Their main priority is keeping their landlords happy, they will not look out for their tenants one bit. We had the worst experience with a nightmare landlord and the agency did nothing but try and please her. We were without a boiler for 2 months and with a leaky roof for 3 months (over the winter). Tried to pin a professional clean on us (though it is unlawful), pushed us to move out BEFORE the proposed date on the section 21 and still messaged us to pay rent for the remaining days.
We are still waiting for any of the deposit despite having moved out last month.
This agency doesn't care about their tenants at all and just want money from the landlords.

Over the last few years, Fox & Sons have been our ‘go to’ for getting an up to date valuation on our property; to see how much it was worth at that time. Michael Raper had previously carried out the valuations and we found him to be extremely helpful and professional. That wasn’t the right time for us, however this year – was our time to sell and upsize.
We made contact with various local Estate Agents to obtain a valuation. Mark Weir of Fox & Sons came and did it for us on this occasion. We appreciated his straight talking, none sugar coated approach (other EA’s were valuing our property at a larger sum, which we simply knew wasn’t realistic!). After spotting our dream home, also on the market with F&S, this sealed the deal and we decided to sell with them too. Won’t lie, we had a couple of friends & family members that did try warning us off using F&S. Even one of the other EA that did a valuation for us were slagging them off (extremely unprofessional I thought). I’m glad we didn’t listen, as they have been AMAZING!
Britney & Harvey were superb at notifying us of viewings and also providing feedback for each one. Our house was on the market for 12 weeks; Michael was the one to ring us and give us the great news that someone had put the perfect offer in, for our house. In turn, we put an offer on the house we wanted, which was then accepted (this house did go within the 12 weeks ours was on the market, this fell through and became available again – Britney rang us immediately to let us know, which we were extremely thankful for). They were really made up for us that everything worked out. Really lovely bunch of Estate Agents and we couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend using them - we wouldn’t hesitate to use again in the future if the need were to ever arise.
They’ve really looked after us from beginning to end. Don’t hesitate to contact them if you need to sell your home!

I have been dealing with Oakley to find new tenants for a property I own.
The process was smooth. I had great communication. For me Oakley took the stress out of finding a replacement tenant. The procedure was explained fully to me including the fees which they will deduct from the initial rental payment.
I would not hesitate to recommend Fox & Sons Gosport. Friendly, professional & upfront about fees that will be incurred. Really poor Company with incompetent staff who are not 100%truthful. I enquired about viewing a property to which I was told that they would get back to me as there were certain 'tenant issue' they were dealing with (no problem, I only want to view it) .. Waited til after the weekend and called regarding the property as noticed it had then "been let" and was told they had an open day for viewings over the weekend and that it had now been let. It had literally only just been advertised for 10 mins when I first enquired.
Gave them the benefit of doubt over the first issue as mistakes happen etc
Second time I telephoned: today about viewing a different property and was told They would call me back. I have received no call back regarding this second property and to be honest I'm glad. I feel like I have dodged a bullet not entering into a contract managed by a bunch of halfwit buffoons who clearly have no concept of customer service.
If you do not intend to call people back please don't say you will, honesty is always the best policy.

Lengthy review but felt necessary, First off, Britany (Sales Negotiator) was incredibly professional and insightful with her knowledge of the property and surrounding area made our decision to put an offer in a easy decision, her expertise and professionalism continued throughout our communication and exceed our expectations. This was a welcome addition to our time at fox and sons.
our next person in the line is Matthew Savage (Senior Mortgage Adviser) and once again we was met with incredibly calm and professional mannerism which for us as first time buyers was another welcomed addition to our experience at Fox and Sons.
This also continued right through to our last moments in the property buying process and i applaud Matthews Skills, Knowledge and Patience during all our time over the 4 months as i can easily be demanding and come across "needy" especially when i don't fully understand the process, which was then explained to me professionally in a manner that made much more sense to me.
during our time going through the lengthy mortgage process we was handed a Section 21 notice with intent to move from our rented accommodation and with this we met another Fox and Sons member of the team, Teegan (Residential Sales Manager)
Once again very professional and understanding regarding the pressure we now had to deal with, as she was in charge of trying to put our flat up on the market she was incredibly polite and patient and was always helpful when it came to our needs as we still lived there while viewings took place. Again a big thank you from us regarding this.
on a final note all the staff at Fox and Sons were incredibly welcoming and the 3 mentioned above are mentioned because these are who we dealt with on a regular basis, but overall all the staff there was fantastic, and i would happily recommend them to anyone who needs property services and advice.

Gemma, the onsite broker went above and beyond to get me the best deal. Number crunching different ways to reduce the terms as well as keep it below an amount I wanted to pay each month.
The sales team for keeping on top of all solicitors involved in the chain to get this completed on time.
And the lettings team, to get an offer 3 days after the mortgage was completed which was very quick and efficient!

If i did this again i wouldn't go through their morgage advisor before viewing a property.

I could nearly always get hold of someone straight away, and if I couldn't they called me back (a rare thing for lettings), and really refreshing after previously dealing with an agent i was having to constantly chase. Just the worst. Please go elsewhere if your buying a house. First time buyers here with a good deposit. They con you into telling them what deposit you have just so they can sell you their financial services (we have our own broker and they knew that).
Then once they have all your details and what your willing to pay for a property, they just tell the seller what budget you have and what your willing to go up to…. Also they would not let us bid up on a property in stages by 1 or 2 thousand as they said, and I quote “we are too busy to be calling you every time your bid has been declined” (that’s your job!) they just asked for the max sum you are willing to pay and then go off and tell the Seller…
The big one for me is that they would not tell me if the seller would accept the offer without a mortgage in principle.. legally you don’t need one until after the offer has been accepted…. Also the complete lack of communication is unreal! Loads of complaints online about this. You ring them up and no one knows what’s going on, you get promises of a call back that never happen.. really not good.
Being first time buyers we have been left feeling very cheated and bullied. We will never be buying a house though these corporate clowns and would advise everyone to stay away and deal with the more local companies.

Move in day was so easy, we went to Fox and Sons to collect the keys and Shania helped explain all of the different paper work I was given and even helped with questions I had like where bins were located… All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much work or hassle for them!! Horrible experience with the Gosport branch. Totally disorganised band of pirates. DO NOT SELL A HOUSE THROUGH THESE CLOWNS. The Gosport branch feels like a group of school kids running a business.
Lied throughout the process of pitching their services only for none of their promises to come true.
Staff are argumentative and rude, NEVER call back when it's arranged, zero customer service. Totally disorganised and seemingly no communication between each other. I once received 3 phone calls in the same day from 3 different staff members about the same thing - yet when I arrange a branch manager call back, it was late the first time, didn't happen any time after that (even though it was booked) and when he did speak to me, he was the rudest person I had dealt with, condescending, sarcastic and totally unprofessional including laughing at me when I made complaints.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We have now bought, sold and bought again all through Michael at Fox and Son's and the service we have received throughout has been exemplary. I find so many of the poor reviews difficult to read when I know that has been the absolute opposite of our experience and I also have two family members that have sold through this estate agents and have had great experiences. Michael has always been so easy to get hold of, offers sound advice and we as a family have felt incredibly well looked after throughout all of our experiences so far. We have felt well-informed and have never felt like Michael (or Gemma the mortgage advisor) have had anything but our best interests at heart. We have found all of the processes to be smooth and transparent and even the services recommended by the company (such as solicitors, surveyors and financial advice) we have found to operate in a similar way. We would absolutely recommend that anyone buying or selling a property to do so through Michael.

My partner and I brought our first home last week and what should have been an rememberable day turned sour when items of furniture were left, draws in the kitchen were damaged and bedroom doors left hanging of there hinges. The amount of rubbish left behind was overwhelming and that quickly over shadow the special day this was suppose to have been.
I reached out to Michael, where his response and communication was fantastic! With regular and informative updates, he went above and beyond to make what could have been a very stressful situation a manageable one. Within 3 days the whole situation was swiftly solved in a professional manner and we’ve walked away happy with the result.

Ok as I write this a couple of things to mention 1) I am not an employer of Fox and Sons Estate Agent or do I know anyone there or in fact a relative of mine works there 2) the current property market is absolutely crazy, have you experienced 10 viewings at the same property on the same day only to lose out, what do you do? Answer - you have a great experience with an Estate Agent who you can trust, will keep their word, will advise and help and go the extra mile to assist you in your purchase and on top of that they are genuine very nice people as well as......
I had a great experience with Teegan and Michael. Banging on their door very early one morning before Teegan had even fired up her computer she welcomed me with a smile asking how can she help. Sensing and then hearing and understanding my frustrations Teegan made me a promise, offered me a solution and then carried it out exactly as she said it would be. I then was able to view, make an offer and everything has been bloomin marvellous. On top of that I met with Michael and he too has been exactly the same. What can I say except, don't be out foxed elsewhere go and see Fox and Sons !!!!

Really not impressed with the so called mortgage services, paid extra for the lifetime membership and what a mistake that was as they make it sound great and you won't have to worry about all the hassle every time your fixed term comes to an end and you need to re mortgage.
You just get to sit behind the back of computer screen whilst she looks at the first offer that is available without any comparison of alternative lenders or your personal requirements you get told to accept the terms and conditions and provide the documents required like the proof of funds and Id then once you leave that office you never get contacted or helped through the stressful process of all the hoops you have to jump through from the solicitors and lenders , I had to constantly try to get hold of the woman that dealt with me initially to try and get paperwork actioned from the start of the application.
You have to withhold your number if you call them otherwise your call is ignored and goes to answer machine and you don't get a call back .
If you do get through you get given the "don't worry I'll look into it and call you straight back spiel" and you never get that call , my mortgage application nearly got cancelled due to important documents not being submitted, as I had no idea this was happening I trusted it would be put right after numerous calls and messages left but it wasn't, i had to get someone else involved to help otherwise it would have ended in disaster
I tried to make a complaint but again it fell on deaf ears and not dealt with / zero response
I feel cheated paying for this "service" and especially paying an administrative fee on top for it to end up ME doing all the work and losing sleep with worry.
Also I had to block another number as they pass your details to another part of the sequence group which don't have a problem calling you as it is trying to sell you insurance. Not actual help that you would have expected.
I looked through all my lifetime membership paperwork and it states your helped through every stage of the application until completion ? You most certainly do not get this.
Next time I'll cut my losses and go to an actual mortgage advice company

She was also really flexible with viewings as we were very limited with our availability.

Unfortunately fox and sons lived up to their poor reputation. I had Tegan view houses with me and she sat texting on her phone In her car whilst I stood in the cold and rain waiting for her to get out the car and let us into the property. Without a “hello how you doing” Or a introduction of herself she eventually took us in to the property. Overall she was unhelpful and damn right rude. When I told her I was buying alone she sniggered at me. I was honestly was in shock at how rude this girl was. Buying for the first time is nerve racking enough, well thank you very much Tegan.

Poor Quality doesn't quite cover it. We were in one of their properties for 7 months. A year after leaving, I'm still being chased for bills to Utility Companies for money that I say I owe them from after I'd handed the keys back. I had this with every Utility bill. Their letting team are out and out liars. None of the work that was promised to be done before we moved in was done. As soon as they had our money though, they lost interest. I would never use them again, and would advise everyone else to steer clear. If I could give no stars, I would.....

Put my property on the market on a Monday by Tuesday it was SOLD for full asking price. Then the whole process to exchange took just 8 weeks, due to the fact the buyer used the in house mortgage adviser Luke white and I used their in house solicitors PPL (Jaz)

As our initial fixed term mortgage was coming to an end my wife and I were getting further advice from Luke White. We found Luke to be very well informed and extremely knowledgeable in his subject matter.
He explained all our options in excellent detail and gave us some very useful advice.
Due to my wife's workload our availability options were quite limited and Luke made every effort to accommodate us.
As we have lifetime membership for our mortgage advice we found this was excellent value for money. We will naturally be using Fox and Sons again.

We contacted the branch as we are looking to buy a house in the area. Despite giving the exact requirements and informing we are chain free, we have not received any feedback on our requests for bookings and some of the properties we were sent were not even close where we requested. Their rivals have been excellent and so we are not going to recommend them based on our experience and suggest Dimons or Mann as a better agencies

We'd tried selling through an online agent before we met Fox and Sons. The online agent had only managed 3 viewings which culminated in an aborted sale.
We're so glad we added Fox and Sons after the aborted sale. They seemed to put far more effort in to selling our house and achieved around 15 viewings. We sold and the aftercare service was just as good. Offer to completion in around 6 weeks with a first time buyer who had to get a mortgage.

This one star is only rewarded so i could write a review.
If i want to rent in Gosport again i will Not use Fox & Sons ever again.
Their communication is awful and extremly slow unless they want something from you, if you require anything then it takes a while to even get a response let alone anything actually done however its never there fault....always the landlords.
Also dont expect help getting your deposit back fast, we have waited over a month and only receive calls/ emails from them if we chase.
Im disgusted with Fox & Sons service and do not know how they have a good reputation as i haven't spoken to anyone who was happy with their service.

Fox & Sons did not follow the procedures laid out in the Property Ombudsman Code of Practice when it took £450 from my daughter before she was then turned down by the landlord. They tried to pay only half the money back, then agreed that they should pay it all back. Nearly two weeks later, they have not paid it back. Unprofessional, uncaring and irresponsible is all I can say.
