We used the in-house mortgage advisor service for the property we were buying as well as the estate agent service for selling our property. Both services were fantastic, with a really proactive approach to marketing the property which sold within a week.
The mortgage advisor Leah was brilliant. She did a really thorough review with us of our financial position, what we could afford, what we wanted our payments to look like, different fixed rate options etc. and really did her research to get us the best deal. Even better was that a few weeks later when the rates changed she found us an even better deal that saved us thousands over the lifetime of the mortgage and lowered our monthly payments to boot. We are now lifetime customers with her and absolutely won’t be using anyone else. Would absolutely recommend Leah and the Southsea branch in general for selling a property and sourcing a mortgage.

We had a great experience with using fox and sons mortgage advisor ( Leah Stephens). As first time buyers we were quite worried about how the whole process works. However on the first meeting we had with Leah, she went through everything step by step making sure we can understand everything in detail. We also had an issue regarding a credit score, when we told Leah what the problem was she made sure that we got it sorted out before we applied for our mortgage.
Overall Leah Stephen’s is an amazing mortgage advisor and we will definitely come back to her when we re-mortgage.

I can wholeheartedly recommend their mortgage advice service - which is open to whole of market. Access to Market research meant that even I (A first time buyer the sum of who's knowledge can be equated with Monopoly) was able to make a offer under asking price and end
First time buying is a daunting and intimidating process, fraught with minor frustrations.
Leah Stephens, my mortgage advisor helped me through the entire process - including bits I knew nothing* about. No question was stupid. She was always contactable, always proactive, and made the entire process so much easier.
She even went the extra mile and helped me chase some solicitors who were being unhelpful.
I am also confident I got the best deal I could have gotten - something I couldn't be 100% of even if I'd spent ages researching and doing it all myself.
She was happy to give information about all the extra purchases, but not pushy or overbearing at all if you decided you only need the bare minimum as well (We all know that some places can be quite aggressive on upselling the optional extras); and helpful when I changed my mind last minute.
When the sale of one flat fell through, due to discoveries on searches she was helpful and honest all the way through. Clear communication throughout.
Would definitely reccomend.

Only 6 viewings in 20 weeks, all in may, june, and july, very disappointed. Only one phone call a month from June from them. Wouldn't answer my emails. People have told me they requested viewings but Fox and sons never returned their calls.

I had a viewing scheduled with this estate agent today, and although they confirmed the appointment a few hours beforehand, their communication and accessibility were disappointing. When I requested the agent's mobile number in case I couldn't find her during the appointment, she refused to provide it, stating that I must contact the office first, who would then contact her and relay the message back to me. In this digital age, it's unreasonable for an estate agent not to have a business mobile number for direct communication. Despite charging hefty fees for their services, they seem unwilling to invest in basic conveniences for their clients.

Just had fox and sons call me regarding a property I was interested in a 1 bedroom flat to rent and they had the nerve to say that I could not afford the monthly rent my salary is 22690.00 per year why would anyone want to rent from them only 3. Reviews on there site can't be that good estate agents might have to contact the local paper and the young girl even asked me if my old landlord would help me pay the rent what a joke of a company

Great danger for my children. When moved in to house purchased to Fox & Sons Southsea we found the floor in the opened living room was sunken. It was hidden by a massive sofa and the agent never reported and lied when asked during viewing for major problems. Now we have a great danger for my three little children and this company will not do anything about it.

We cannot recommend this estate agents enough!
As first time buyers, we were worried that that we were going to be overwhelmed by the whole process, however Fox and Sons really simplified everything for us.
Jade was fantastic showing us round the property, answering all our questions and helping us to get our offer accepted.
We used their own mortgage broker and both Stuart and Barry worked so hard to get all our paperwork ready and re negotiate when we needed.
Finally Adam was great at calling and keeping us updated every step of the way. Throughout everything we felt supported and that no question or issue was too much.

My partner and I were thinking of putting our house on the market but wanted to wait until the right property became available. 2 days after speaking to Adam the right property became available and we had to move fast to secure it. Arranged a viewing for an apartment. Was sent the address by text message but then called 3 hours later to tell me they had given me the wrong address and gave me a new address on the same road. On arrival, after leaving me waiting outside in the freezing cold because they were late, they showed me a property I had said I didn’t want to view. When I told them this was the wrong property they told me that the property I wanted to see had already gone. I traveled 2 hours to see this property and they had called before I set off to change the time but instead of being honest thought they’d wing it on the off chance I’d change my mind. I will find a property by any other agent.

I remortgaged my property with the help of Jordan and although I couldn't get what I wanted, Jordan did her research and tried her best to get me the best outcome. She was very friendly and welcoming and explained everything in detail to ensure I fully understood what was happening. She also managed to refund the admin fee which was a lovely bonus.

Having dealt with a number of estate agents during our property search Fox&Sons Southsea really stood out in providing not only honest unvarnished views (not always a given when dealing with an estate agent trying to sell a house!) as well as a professional service. The staff were helpful and efficient, and in particular Sarah, who responded to questions, and helped to ensure that the process continued , and going the extra yard. This was great as there are always things that arise in selling or buying a house, & need sorting out, so it was good to be able to ring and get her enthusiastic response.

We made our purchase through Fox and Sons' Southsea branch. The team were lovely to speak with and were excellent at letting us visit the house and show our parents round during the process. However, we did become frustrated as time went on and we heard less and less from the team. It seemed as though the only person who could answer our queries was Sarah, who was hardly in the office/with a customer/on the phone....and rarely returned our calls which made the process incredibly stressful (although I do appreciate that all house moves are!).
There seemed to be several issues with communication as we were led to believe an initial move date was set for the end of June, but we were waiting on a buyer to confirm, and when the buyer confirmed, we were told that the seller could not make the arranged date and tried to push it back two weeks! Sarah was helpful in arranging a compromise at this point, but it felt as though all the parties concerned had not really been kept in the loop regarding dates.
Since moving in, everything is as expected except for the discovery that the boiler is not a combi-boiler (as told during the viewing), but is actually a water tank system and the tank in the bathroom (which we were told was redundant....) is very much in use! That being said, we did not have the heating system checked in a survey, we only took Fox and Sons' word for it.
Overall, I would say that the enthusiasm of the team was great and they were always welcoming and friendly in the office. The 'in-house' mortgage adviser, Barry, is absolutely fantastic - would thoroughly recommend him. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him, and he even took some of our calls when we couldn't get through to Sarah!
As for the sales team, I think they need a few more years of experience before they'll be good. Whilst they make a great first impression, they definitely need to improve their communications during the sales process in order to avoid causing unnecessary stress, confusion and frustration.

Will never use Fox and Sons again. From strat to finish it’s been poor service. Never on buyers side just on sellers to sell the house and get there commission.
I advised the agent before exchange to get rid of all rubbish in the house and advised this would be done. I even explained this exchange of contract, was promised. Moving nothing has been done. Manager Sarah never returns calls as advised. The only time she called or emails was moving forward with purchase. Her team was advised the process with mortgage advisor but still responded with a rude email for us to hurry up. The worst service ever from management. I will be following this up with the Ombudsman. People when you buy a house it should be painless but Southsea Branch was the worst argumentive agent. When questioning Damp issues they kept making out as no problem even though the survey stated this not the case. There agent promised to remove rubbish part of sale but to be honest has not done anything.
I explained about making an official complaint was told what for!! Never called back to calls and messages left. Sarah never seems to be in the office or a fob off to dealing with quiries. The attitude stinks and would never put my service through them.

Have been letting my property out with Fox’s for years, and can’t fault them - first dealt with Matt, who although was good I found was a lot of talk - always popping me emails etc but not much action with it - now with the recent team I’ve dealt with, I have experienced great contact, feedback but mainly the actions to folllow it up, which in my eyes is what you want from an agent. Would highly recommend... and always do!!

Absolutely loved the lettings team 10/10 for customer service. Kept me informed throughout referencing, tenancy agreements were docu-signed online, nothing was too much.
