One of the worst and unethical agencies I've dealt with - signed a tenancy agreement, the landlord pulled out, and Foxton wiped the entire tenancy agreement from the portal and wouldn't provide any written confirmation of the rescinded offer. When we tried to call them to get help with the above they were so unhelpful and rude!! Got friends who have dealt with Foxton and absolutely hate them. Go somewhere else!... Read more

It's been an absolute pleasure to work with Sam when I was looking to buy a property. He's great at communication and is very quick to respond to your messages. Requested to view a specific property was told to wait as there are already many lined up. Sure thing, but agent also asked a thousand questions as to why we want that specific property. Answered all and even wrote in an email the 3 main features we need. Same evening agent calls back to let us know we "got lucky" and there is an opening the very next day mid-afternoon. It's quite last minute to us with work but we move around/cancel some meetings and rush to the appointment. We get there just on time, agent is very relaxed and took over 10m just to get the keys and his car. A bit strange as we thought the viewings are strictly timetabled but fine. We get in his car and he starts chatting and asking more questions many of which are repeated from before. At one point I ask if this is the optimal way to the flat as we are headed a weird way and he casually notes "oh we are not viewing that flat as there is an offer for it already". We freak out and but he insists he'll show us something "just as good if not better". We are still super shocked and angry but thought at this point what could we lose. He proceeds to show us another flat that is not only not the same price but doesn't even have 2/3 key things we repeatedly asked for and even wrote down. We literally repeated these in the car and yet he proceeded to waste our time with something not matching. After this he still had the audacity to ask "what we think" and wanted to show us more places that are "even better". Mind you we were already 20m past the "open slot". Thankfully this flat was close to the tube so at this point we just walked away but that still wouldn't stop him from repeatedly calling us the day after. I know the job of these agents is to sell, but this way of creating a false sense of urgency to then completely wate our time should be straight up criminal. After this experience we definitely won't even consider any flat marketed by Foxtons since who knows if they'd actually show us the same place.... Read more

Regrettably, my experience with this letting agency has been overwhelmingly negative. The professionalism and level of support provided are severely lacking. Internal gossip among staff members about tenants and communication mishaps have been distressing. During a recent phone call at 10:35, a customer service advisor audibly ridiculed our inquiry about scheduled viewings, displaying a lack of courtesy and respect. Despite our attempts to address these issues through email, the Operations Manager, Ketan, has consistently ignored our concerns, exacerbating the situation. Overall, the branch appears poorly managed, with staff members displaying disrespect towards tenants. While initial contact during property searches may be prompt, the agency’s responsiveness declines significantly when dealing with resale inquiries, often resulting in disrespectful and inconsistent communication. In summary, I would caution against engaging with this letting agency due to their unprofessionalism and disregard for tenant satisfaction.... Read more

Called to query about a property to buy and I asked for the cost of the service charge. Instead of asking me, the agent asked me 20 questions during the course of 10 minutes and still kept on asking and asking, without the willingness and readiness to share the cost of the service charge in the name of qualifying buyers. I told him I have answered 20 questions and how many more questions do I need to answer before he will be able to qualify me as a buyers and share the service charge number. The question was not answered and more and more questions keep on coming, still in the name of qualifying buyers. Felt really very uncomfortable. I asked to speak with his senior and it was refused. Terrible experience with Foxtons Canary Wharf. My letting agent was tony chan who seemed to constantly be on holiday or be unavailable. We had problems right from the start such as no shower head and mould in the shower. Not what you expect when you are paying £3,500 a month for a small 2 bed. NOTHING was done about the shower head and mould the whole 9 months we were there… that is until we handed in our 2 months notice then we saw some urgency to get these problems fixed. Ever since we have been looking for renting a property, all they have done is call and “gather information” like a 100 times. Every time they’ll say the same thing “I’m sorry the property you’ve enquired on has been already let. I can share the ones that are available” All the listed properties will be very conveniently let out. Still they’d keep on spamming with the same recommendations. I recently sold my property with the assistance of Oliver Mint and Sam Barker. Both Ollie and Sam were a pleasure to deal with. At the early stages, Ollie provided assistance and guidance on the sale process and advising me where there were issues with a lack of communication from solicitors. Sam was able to find a buyer and kept me informed throughout the process with regular updates. Due to a lack of communication from the buyer’s solicitor, Sam was imperative when it came to chasing the buyer’s side and his persistence ensured the sale went through. I guess Foxtons are offering a “discount” on one of their fabricated fees to pull in these reviews. Avoid at all costs, if you absolutely have to use them take pictures and videos of EVERYTHING before you move in as they will try and claw as much of your deposit back as possible. Only lived in a flat for 6 months and they tried to charge for things like getting paint on the doors, and damp damage which had clearly been there for years to get as bad as it did to warp and discolour the floor. If you let them, they will take advantage of you, they are not your friend, they are not there to help you. I was reminded to write this review as I was passed by one of their Minis in Canary Wharf with the windows rolled down, music blaring, and driving like a lunatic. London would be a better place without them.... Read more

Extremely unethical and horrible experience working with them! They always promised and baited us to viewings of lower priced houses but every time "something happened" and the house became unavailable on the viewing day, instead they had us view extremely expensive houses and when we made an offer they waited for 48 hours and made a bidding war on our back, asking for more than a 20% increase on an already overpriced property! To top it all off, they made up fake excuses every correspondence we had with them (one moment the landlord of a house was in Vancouver, then 15 minutes later in Singapore!).... Read more

Avoid Foxtons Canary Wharf. Plain and simple. Foxtons were quick at sorting a let for myself and my partner in The Wardian in Canary Wharf, but have failed to help us with any of the issues we have encountered during our first month letting. If you want helpful, immediate solutions then Foxtons isn’t the way to go. First of all, we weren’t sent a video of our property until the day before we moved in. The only reason we went along with this was because we had seen several other properties in The Wardian (with other agents) beforehand. Second, we were promised the property would come fully furnished but to this day (myself and my partner have lived in this property for a month now), we still have no curtains. Our property manager John Watts was initially kind, welcoming, and assured us from day one the curtains would be sorted ASAP. However, a month later nothing has been done and myself and my partner are no closer to having them. In fact, after chasing John up again today we were told the measurements for the curtains weren’t even known by whoever was sorting them. Safe to say, myself and my partner were mildly frustrated, as this hadn’t been mentioned by John for the last month. We’ve even struggled to have Foxtons ask our landlord whether we can install an electricity smart meter. As myself and my partner want to do things properly, we reached out to John Watts a month ago and asked him to ask our landlord whether we could go ahead with installing a smart meter. One month later we still have no answer. There are a series of other issues myself and my partner have had thus far. All of which have been met with similarly shambolic service. Every issue we’ve had with Foxtons goes something like this: 1) Issue arises 2) Myself and my partner call Foxtons, specifically John Watts 3) Foxtons (John) assure us said issue will be remedied ASAP 4) Nothing happens so myself and my partner need to call again days later The cycle above then repeats in a continuous loop. Foxtons are good at getting you in the door with a quick let, but fail overwhelmingly when it comes to property management. Numerous other reviews corroborate this. Take a look for yourself - all positive reviews are about how people secured an amazing place to let (because the letting agents hound you for a good review after you’ve signed your contract and are excited to move in). Read reviews about Foxtons’ property management and you’ll see overwhelming disappointment at their horrible service. In short - find an agent that can get things done quickly and efficiently. And, safe to say, myself and my partner will not be using Foxtons again.... Read more

From the moment I made contact to the moment I signed, everything was extremely quick and efficient. Jason answered all of my questions and was very responsive. He spent a lot of time explaining everything to me as I was migrating to London so there were many things I didn't know about renting here. I give Jason Segovia a 5/5 rating. I set 4 stars overall because the moving in process was rough. There needs to be a much better way of informing tenants about how to actually move into the apartment and where to collect keys, how to set up utilities etc. I showed up at my apartment only to be told I have to go into foxtons to collect the keys. There was no mention of how to transfer the owners utilities onto my account so I could start paying. I had to call Foxtons many times to find out literally everything. Just like people said, once they get your money they don't give a shxx. Rachel was our sale agent and she never replies to message even she was online. There were so many problems in the property since I moved in. We supposed to move in on the 11th, but they did not clean the property until we told them it was not fully clean. Then, they did not check the property before people move in. The electricity cut off and the agent didn't even know it needs to be top-up, also, the lights were broken. Besides, the property manager Viral barely answers the phone by himself since he is "always" not on his seat. I asked for the tenant change twice. At first, he did not mention the process in the email as soon as I call him, he changed his words a week later. Also, the second time I ask for the tenant change process, did he even process this? I don't know coz I didn't get any response as he only said he is waiting for the landlord?? Even the new tenant (who wanna moved into the property) called them, they gave a promise sweet talk; however, there's no further process (Further update: the new tenant unable to move in on the date she supposed to because of the never-work sublet process). I paid 12 months to rent all and I did not get the treatment that a fully-paid tenant deserved. Be aware! Save your money, folks! p.s. Agreed with the previous reviewer: they take money upfront, and their jobs was 'done'. Bad experience. Very pushy sales team, so I accepted a tenant from them in the challenging market in 2020. Foxtons did the referencing but never showed me a report. 2 staff members later tried to tell me that they usually do - well, they didn’t, there is no record of sending it to me. Interestingly, I was told by a member of staff (Ehab) at Canary Wharf office that the person first had to sign the AST and pay the 1st month rent, “so they are committed”, only then do they reference them. I found it different at the time , as other agencies told me they could only ask for 1-week holding deposit, then referencing - then signing the AST and taking the 1st month's payment (this fact should be possible to check in Foxtons records - what was when). The tenant stopped paying rent after 2 months, they didn't chase on their initiative, we had to call Foxtons and ask to remind. Then the tenant didn't pay again, we had to call Foxtons again. All Foxtons was doing was sending some standard emails, which in the end the tenant was just ignoring. The tenant wasn't also answering their calls, just paid a portion of rent for further 2 months. Eventually, I agreed to finish the tenancy earlier instead of pursuing the case in courts etc (without any guarantee of getting money). Yes, Foxtons cannot be blamed for the tenant not paying but their lack of help surprised me, especially during these times when most companies try to be helpful. In my case, Foxtons took a whole year’s commission upfront (around £2,000), so whether the tenant pays or not, it's not Foxtons’ concern and they aren't out of pocket. Once they have their money upfront, their work is basically done and they won't be helping, whether the tenant pays or not (that's lettings service, ie not full management which is even more expensive). In other words, although Foxtons might not have breached their agreement, they were basically happy to take their money upfront for 12 months, and then leave me to deal with the situation. Once again, may not be wrong legally but not customer-orientated or business-like either. I asked for a complaints procedure and had a call from Ed, the Lettings Director. His main point was that they didn’t do anything wrong. But their systems weren't good in my case: there is no clear system of reminding the tenants to pay, no providing a landlord with referencing information as a matter of course. I am talking just a report, not the documents to support it - Foxtons didn’t provide me even a summary until I insisted, even then they initially refused “because of GDPR” but then sent it to me anyway. They didn’t ask whether I was ICO-registrered. Amongst other things, Ed was telling me irrelevant generic things (rather than focus on my situation), such as ‘Depending on how the tenant is set up in self employment, we may check their income on Companies House”. Not a competent statement, in my opinion, I had to point out that Companies House doesn't mention anything about the personal income of a director. Even for a contractor's company, only abbreviated accounts can be submitted, giving no indication of their income at all. He also advised “we try to help our clients and recover rent”, well, as above, the only time they did chase arrears was when we asked them to, even then they didn't get far. He also said ‘We may ask for a guarantor” - yet in this situation they didn’t. He said there was no need for that because the tenant passed the referencing in their own right, so I had to ask Ed in exasperation: “What is the point of you telling me on what you COULD do if you didn't do it in my case?” To sum up, they might not have done wrong under the landlord agreement but their agreement is heavily one-sided towards them - bear that in mind when signing up, especially with a smooth-taking sales team! I also feel, in my personal opinion, their systems aren't landlord-friendly or landlord-efficient , especially in the current economic times.... Read more

I worked most closely with Giles Sparkes (sale valuation) and Billy Brooks (sale negotiator) regarding the sale of our flat near Canary Wharf. Both are very nice persons and experts in their job. Billy managed to find a good client to make an attractive (= high) offer to buy our flat after a short time of viewing. In short Foxtons managed to sell our old home in order for us to buy and move into a bigger house in 4.5 months, which is a very short period of time in the current market condition in 2018 (i.e. before UK leaves the EU in March 2019). Our experience showed Foxtons at their very best. Giles, Billy and other members in Canary Wharf took many people to view our flat, e.g. there were 10 views in the first week versus 5 views in 2 months with another smaller estate agent we used prior to Foxtons. When it came to the final few weeks before completion and it was very tense because we needed to keep our buyer and made sure that person was happy, Giles helped Billy to work with all solicitors (my buyer, my vendor, and ours) and all estate agents in the chain to get things done quickly, i.e. they almost did the job of the other estate agent in the chain. Once in a while, I also talked with the manager (Mr. Thomas Holmes) of Giles and Billy, and it appeared that the whole team was very aware of our flat and its current situation. This is the main difference between Foxtons and our previously used estate agents who usually did not have the capital and human resource to rigorously and intensively get the job done quickly. There were ups and several downs along the way, because there were in total 3 buyers who expressed interest, put down (and some withdrew) offer, but Foxtons (especially ones at Canary Wharf Office) is worth every penny of their fee.... Wish I could give 0 stars! The worst experience with an estate agent yet, out of dozens, not that the benchmark was overly high either... our guy didn’t even show up for our first appointment, forcing a colleague of his to inform us he had “locked himself both out of his car and the flat he was showing”. This should have clued us into the absolute incompetence of our agent, since handling keys efficiently is probably the one if he most important aspects of his job. Stupidly, we rescheduled. He continually proved himself to be wholly unintelligent, taking us both to flats way out of and way under our budget, none of which we wanted to see. It was mildly a kidnapping to all intents and purposes. The cherry on the cake was when he took us to a flat he hadn’t shown before, knocked on a door, lead us inside, and, to the bafflement of the tenants, proceeded to show us around. About 5 minutes in he left the room, whilst the tenants demonstrated the location of the boiler etc, only to return and tell us he had taken us into the WRONG BLOODY FLAT! Imagine our complete embarrassment in learning that not only was the flat not listed with Foxtons, it was not for sale at all! He did not even apologise or take ownership for these acts of utter stupidity! Wholeheartedly DO NOT recommend Foxtons. They only care about crunching numbers and nothing for quality or customer service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.... Read more

The worst experience I have ever had in dealing with estate agents. Both of these guys were the utter epitome of slimy estate agents who do not care about you and quite literally just want to take your money. From booking the first viewing - I called on a Saturday and spoke to David Morgan who agreed to do a viewing on Monday (there was no mention of having to ask the current tenants to confirm from him, he just just out-rightly said it was booked) - I did not recieve a confirmation email all the way up until the Monday 10am - (the viewing was booked for 11am) - so ended up calling the the branch again who had NO record of me even calling to book! Eventually one of the staff members traced the call back to David’s number (this staff member also said this is quite usual of David’s behaviour). I eventually saw the property and my sister too and we both agreed to make an offer. Suddenly, David messaged me to say the flat is only available THREE WEEKS after we already agreed to move/the date he told us and blamed it on the current tenants. I said we would have to think about it but he ended up being very pushy with his words in forcing me to extend my current tenancy as “It would be a great price to get this one in The Sphere so hopefully you can accommodate those couple of weeks?” (I have the text messages). I didn’t hear back from my current agent immediately with regards to extending and David was even saying he would get in touch with them himself! So unpleasantly forceful! As if it ends there. Me and my sister decided to make an offer and David asked us to come back to the office where his colleague would be to put down the offer etc as he stated he couldn’t(?). Waiting at the office suddenly his colleague “was out at a viewing” and “couldn’t get in touch with him”. So we decided to leave and agreed I would get a phone call in the morning the next day to confirm the offer. The next morning I revive a text message form David to say he was “suddenly off sick...and at the GP” and that someone else had put an offer in so we would have to make our “best offer”. I cannot believe this...It was promised that this colleague “Ketan” would be calling me at 9am - obviously I didn’t get a call and had to call the branch around 11/12? Maybe even later to be called back. When Ketan eventually called me back he asked me how I could be helped? Surely he knew that we were trying to make an offer since yesterday and that he was supposed to call me at 9am!? No apology at all and in actual fact he was rude and obnoxious and pushed me to increase my offer and length of contact without a break clause saying the landlord would “take the best offer”. Before the phone call ended I asked when he would get back to me on whether the landlord would accept or not, he said by the end the of the day - this was Friday 6th July, it’s now Thursday 26th.... and nothing. I did not call to enquire because quite frankly we had had enough, luckily we have found a beautiful place to live now but stuck with an extra two weeks rent to pay at my current place due to the awful cut-throat behaviour of these two staff members of Foxtons - mainly David Morgan. Our whole experience with this agency has been absolutely disgusting and I will genuinely shout to the hills and back to everyone NOT to use them.... Read more

The sales person was nice and helpful. However, he was not really knowledgeable about the flat's conditions (or he was not willing to share all information). The negotiator manager has been unprofessional. The landlord has breached the contract's T&C. Foxtons Canary Wharf team were aware of the issue before the start of the tenancy but they have failed to convince their partner (landlord) to abide by the legal agreement as per the contract. Instead, they told me to accept the fact that the T&C will not be honored. I paid deposit and first month for the flat almost two months before the start of the tenancy date. So they really wasted my time. The flat has not been professionally cleaned (the inventory report clearly confirms my claim), and the condition to provide a new wardrobe as per the contract has not been honored. In the end, the £420 admin fee are too high and not reflected in the service they offer. They advertise the flat for a higher price than similar/better properties offered by other agencies. they kept mentioning that this landlord is a premier landlord. The furniture looks ok, as long as you dont touch it, however it is unstable and unsafe. I was not informed about this at all.... Read more

Foxtons is a great and fancy agency only up until you pay them their fee for doing absolutely nothing. I had the bad experience to rent a flat through them and every time i had an issue the only thing the said was to contact my landlord. And the best part of the story is that when i moved out of the flat the landlord did not returned the deposit back and they done absolutely nothing. Very very bad and expensive experience. At the stage of looking for the property Foxtons staff are helpful and nice, BUT once the property is rented the management team is slow and reluctant to cooperate and fix arising problems. Some siriouse issues, such as faulty windows, are not mantioned/masked when the property is shown prior to rental and you discover them when the contract is already signed. Jordan Taylor is an amazing agent. Over the years I have used a few agents but none are as good as Jordan. She is absolute gem. From day one she was fantastic. She came out on a Sunday morning to show me properties to purchase. (By the way this was meant to be her day off.) On showing me around she clearly was well informed of the properties and knew them inside out. What I really liked was the fact that she listened to me and understood what I really wanted. Worst service ever!!! After tenancy ends, they did not pay agreed amount of deposit to us. The kept 400 from our deposit. We email and call them for many times, but they completely ignore us. As a tenant we have the right to know why they did not deduct agreed amount of deposit. As a customer, we have the right to be respected. Foxtons is very rude, they ignore our complaint. We can't do anything by calling them or emailing them. Tried to call the property manager, property manager team, canary wharf foxtons, they just cut our calls. I never see an agent that rude!... Foxtons Canary wharf staff were amongst the best in London when looking for an apartment to rent. I simply gave them the brief and budget and the agent took me out for the morning showing me various options until i was completely happy with choosing one that ticked all the boxes. I would have given this review five stars had it been based upon the branch office and renting process experienced at Canary Wharf alone. Where Foxtons really let themselves down very badly indeed , is their property management side. I had serious isues with my apartment from the word go in relation to the temperature control. No matter how hard i tired to explain to them the extent of the problem, it was constantly excused as a luxury item when anyone knows heating a home, is certainly no luxury matter but essential. I eventually had to withold rent payments to actually get them to take notice. The worst excuse was having to always seemingly wait for the landlords approval to have work carried out and im sorry, but thats inexcusable when you are talking about basic ammenittes. Perhaps i was unlucky in the nature of the faults however constantly having to call up week upon week, getting told that they thought it was fixed etc etc , is hardly what i would call management, in any definition of the word. I log a serious fault, it should be monitored until the customer is completely happy and satisfied. It is not up to the tenant to pursue contractors and tradesmen to fix fault that are the property managements responsibility, afterall, thats what you get paid for!!! After letting the property for 16 months, i depart with the same heating and cooling faults as the day i arrived, minus the water p***ing through the roof of the apartment! I probably had 6 months inbetween of trouble free climate control and funnily enough, those are the months where the weather was such that you didnt need heating or cooling and it was all switched off!!... I am yet to meet an agent who is so polite, honest, helpful and considerate towards a client's requirement. We were very picky about what we wanted and he was ever so patient showing us one place after another. He understood our requirements and always tried to bridge the gap between the landlord and the tenant. However I can easily say that Francis has raised the bar in terms of what I expect of real estate agents. I have found several unscrupulous agents who try to fleece you and create a bad name in general. Francis is one of those guys who is at the other end of the spectrum. Cornelius has been helping me to search for a house to rent for the past 3 weeks around Canary Wharf. Although I never successfully rent anything through him, he was a superb agent! He is a very hardworking staff and a great agent to deal with. He knows how to make his customers feel comfortable sitting in the car with him for the first time. That is really an extra bonus. In addition, he ensured that he understood what my needs were before forwarding any prospective houses to me. This saved a lot of my time as I then didn’t need to visit those unnecessary houses that definitely weren’t suitable. In short he does spend the time to cater to one’s needs. He also kept me in the loop during the 2weeks when there really isn’t anything suitable in the market. That made me feel really good as it shows that he hasn’t forgotten about me. This feedback applies specifically to Glenda Marder (sales negotiator at Foxtons, Canary Wharf), Foxtons Canary Wharf branch, and also to Foxtons estate agents in general. I've had a good amount of dealing with estate agents in 2013; quite extensively during the market research/viewings phase of my property hunt. As I'm the sort of person who likes to see the full picture, I usually go heavy on research and viewings before making decisions. I therefore registered myself with estate agents over a sizeable part of London and subsequently liaised with and viewed properties with numerous agents. These included both private, non franchise, single shop estate agents, who tend to vary greatly in quality of service and also most high street chains (which I will not name, but I had all grounds covered). I am confident in saying, that I've very seldom found a level of service that matched that of Foxtons. Foxtons, is a whole new level of service. The environment, the facilities, the people, the vehicles, the service - it's all standardised across branches (I know as I'm still registered with 4 Foxtons branches), highly efficient, and delivered to a high standard. From my experiences, I've found Foxtons agents full of confidence, credibility and professionalism. They are knowledgeable and very thorough. They are also well spoken, and presentable. Most of my contact in Foxtons, Canary Wharf was with Glenda Marder with whom I had a number of viewings. I've found her to be friendly, polite, helpful, in-sightful and intelligent. Unfortunately, during my property hunt, I did not find competitive properties/prices and the locations I was seeking with Foxtons, because of which I ended up purchasing something with the help of another high street estate agent who seemed to have better coverage of areas and more lucrative properties (although their quality of service can't even be classified as in the same league as Foxtons).... If you want the perfect agent,go and meet Rebeca Gonzalez. Intelligent,kind,persistent to do a good job,not just to sell,so she will do everything to find what you need and want.I have to admit that I give her a hard time because I have special needs and likes or dislikes as I have a sick and disabled at the moment husband.So,when we have the location,I don't have the view.Rebeca tries,we have them ,but then my husband has not the pool. Dreadful customer service and total arrogance. Contact 1: After we took a day off work and travelled to London, Foxtons' rep said the house we were viewing has been sold the previous day and refused to take us. Contact 2: tried to make an appointment and left messages by voicemail, text and enquiry form, but got no reply from Foxtons and so could not go. Contact 3: Foxton's rep denied getting any of the previous messages and so we re-booked for a later day which was much less convenient. In the event, my partner could not get time off work, so I phoned to see whether we could get a trusted family friend who owns 10 houses in London [really] to go instead, but Foxton's rep turned this down, saying he would refuse any offer from us, and their online pictures showed everything....
