We recently bought our first home and had a brilliant experience with Foxtons Peckham. This was particularly down to Cavan Lyman who was our estate agent and was amazing from start to finish. He gave us so much of his time and really went the extra mile to explain everything to us as first time buyers - I don’t think we would have got the place without him. Sackina Marlin was absolutely fantastic. She was patient with me as flat after flat didn’t feel right until I finally found the right place. I dealt with a lot of estate agents from different companies when trying to find somewhere and Sackina from Foxtons was the only one I felt was treating me like a fellow human rather than walking commission. She was friendly, understanding, interested in what I actually wanted and tried to show me homes which fitted my needs and wants. She gave me a lift back to the station after a set of viewings and was generally just great energy which is really important when going through the process of finding the right home.

Reece from the Peckham office stepped in and was very helpful right away. Within a week we viewed the flat, signed the offer and were confirmed to move. I tried other local estate agents before Foxtons. Neither came anywhere close to the professionalism, technological advancement nor persistence that Foxtons did. It’s easy to see why they are so big.
I was blown away by the experience and both Matt and Andrew showed me the best possible side to estate agents (I’ve never been a fan, but especially Andrew has completely changed my mind).
It took us about 7 months in the end, but Andrew gave me updates and sense-checked things at least twice a week. Andrew was also at times doing the work for the solicitor as they were extremely slow.
It was a small flat, so their reward was probably not worth all the effort they put in. But for me, I would never consider another company before them now. And if you can, please get Andrew and Matt to help on your property. They are straight taking, have a growth mindset and genuinely kind people.
I wish I could give them more stars!

I have been exceptionally pleased with the service from foxtons. I choose foxtons because of their reputation in finding buyers quickly. The property went on the market on 4th March where Matthew Freeman led the charge. I received multiple offers which resulted in a best and final sealed bid process. Matthew kept me fully updated and informed throughout this process. My house was under offer by mid-april.
Once the property was under offer - Cavan Lyman then managed the coordination between me, my solicitor and the chain. He was exceptionally responsiveness and escalated issues quickly - including update calls outside of his normal working hours. I felt in very secure hands and am incredibly pleased with how everything was handled.

“If you are looking to sell your property, I would definitely recommend Ronke and Rapid Sale. She is completely honest and trustworthy and the price she gives you for your home will be the price you get pays for it. Please be aware that there are a lot of home buying property companies on the internet who offer to pay more for your property but what they don’t tell you is that they don’t buy your property, they just find a buyer and they also tend to drop the price once a survey has been done and then again when the sale is about to complete leaving you high and dry. Ronke is very true to her word and when she promises to buy it for the price given in 7 days she literally moves mountains to keep to it. It's been a bit of a roller-coaster for us with a couple of other estate agents involved at earlier stages and I can honestly say that Foxtons were the only ones that kept in touch with updates on a regular basis... no matter what!
It's easy to keep communications going if things are looking up and the sale process is progressing. But when wheels fall off and chains collapse and things go back to square one that's when those regular updates make the real difference. It's so crucial to have that reassurance that one was not 'forgotten' because it just had not turned out to be an 'easy sale' for the agent. So thank you Matt for *getting it* and for all your proactive phone calls in those stagnant weeks.

This is the worst managed service of any estate agents I have ever used. Landlords DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Absolutely useless.
It took me 2 months and over 4 calls and 5 emails to the branch and head office to find out who was ‘managing my property’
They didn’t pay me for over 3 months.
Took them over a month to find a misplaced payment from tenants, which they didn’t even notify me about, I had to keep checking. Took them a week to respond, Once they did respond they didn’t resolve anything , I had to speak to the tenant directly and then chase them.
I have a live water incident, my assigned ‘manager’ went on leave and didn’t hand it over to anyone so yet again I will be contacting the tenants and rectifying the incident.
DO NOT USE THEM EVER.

I am extremely disappointed by the service I received from Foxtons. Two months into the process of purchasing a flat, and having spent over £1000 on surveyor and solicitor fees, the agents at Foxtons have admitted that there is a problem with the sale, as they have been unable to get hold of their own client for almost two months. They only admitted this after my solicitor felt obliged to set a deadline so who knows how much longer they would have let this drag on for if we hadn't done that. Each time I raised concerns about the vendor, they tried to reassure me by saying that all was normal and that there was nothing to worry about. This dishonesty has resulted in a huge amount of time, energy and money being wasted by all involved in the process. This would have been entirely avoidable had Foxtons been honest from the start. Based on this experience, I would not recommend working with Foxtons in any capacity, as I do not believe that they can be trusted with something as important as facilitating the sale or purchase of a home.

I believe without him i would've still been struggling to look for a place . Seeing as there were a few mistakes with some documents aiden also had the patience that most people wouldn't havr for this type of thing so i was very happy with that .

As first time renters in London we went with Foxtons as they were a larger name that we thought we could trust. In short we couldn’t have been more wrong!
WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! After 3/4 of a year chasing with our messages being blatantly ignored we are still in the same position with no management (or anyone) in the company bothering to listen to the tenants. We have been passed from employee to employee, having to repeat the same issue to still have no resolution.
We have had a disgusting experience with Foxtons and would definitely not recommend to anyone.
After a floor to ceiling high cabinet fell on my flat mate, not only did no one come out immediately but six months later the same broken cabinet has still not been fixed or properly looked at and is still a danger.
On top of this a leaking bath and now under floor damp, mouse infestation and many other issues have just been ignored even after many many chasers from our end.
Now having left the property having been made to feel so wholly devalued as people by this company. They have now blocked us from even accessing the central app to see if our efforts in raising these complaints have been heard. As our main hope is to ensure no other tenants are to be treated as we have been.

Foxtons have still not fixed any of the below issues. They have lied about been in contact with contractors to fix the cabinet that fell on me (over 6months ago). Nothing is resolved and we are constantly going around in circles with incompetent staff.
We have only received any type of response through adding complaints on online forums such as this.
This is beyond a joke now.

Over the current COVID period foxtons have been absolutely shocking at replying back and sorting out maintenance issues in my property which I rent through them.
In one instance a cabinet in my property fell on top of me because it wasn’t secured to the wall, this has caused scaring on my arm where it fell, this was 6 months ago and they have failed to resolve the broken cabinet and compensate for the injuries I obtained. On top of this there has been a mouse infestation in my flat. Foxtons also failed to resolve this issue, sending no one out to deal with it. The shower in the property also leaks, leaving huge puddles every time it is used which has caused a copious amount of damp, yet again, foxtons have not fixed this issue.
I will never be renting with foxtons again due to their incompetence and clear lack of care towards their tenants. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Juste showed us 5 properties in one day which exceeded our expectations, although we weren’t keen on any of them, she kept the positive attitude and tried to know more about what exactly we’re looking for. Even with the currently busy times at this time of the year, Juste is maintaining a good follow up with us and keeping us informed.

I went to view a flat for my sister and I and decided to put down an offer.
I specifically told to the agent that my sister had to view the flat as well before taking a decision and moving forward. My sister went to the viewing and told the agent she liked it, but we needed to think about it. We had another 2 viewings the following day with another agent from the same agency.
The following day the second agent was extremely rude on the phone, and accused me of wasting the landlord's time, even if we have only seen the house the previous day and requested a second viewing. I think I am allowed to consider other options, since I was very trasparent about it and being criminalised because of it was completely uncalled for.
She also cancelled one of the 2 viewings we had for no reason and last minute.
The following day I get an email with 1250 pounds to pay within 24 hours.
I never confirmed to the agent I wanted to take the property, also because all the documentation had still to be filled up and approved before moving forward.
When I initially spoke to the agent, she/he never talked about the 24 hours deadline. When I confronted her/him about it, I was told that "this is the way it works in London" .
Turns out that's absolutely not true. It may be the way Foxtons does things but other agencies only charge a one week holding deposit. Once all the required documents are sorted, you are then required to pay the full amount, which makes much more sense.
I understand they want to rent properties and make their commision, but rushing people into doing it and not being clear about it is just sketchy and ridicoulous.
Also, I was also told that the landlord would probably only accept an 18 months offer (at least) but I am now thinking it was only a way to get a higher commison.
I have also noticed that the reviews on their website are all excellent but if you go on other websites there are many people that have been in a situation very similar to mine.

I'm extremely impressed with how good this company is at hiding charges and duping tenants into bad agreements. They seem to work really well as a team to confuse, manipulate and trick tenants into contracts that only help them make more money. Read T's & C's intensely and consult legal help before signing any agreement. You'll pay for it in the future if you don't.
They even went as far as using myself and my partner against each other in one situation, saying my partner had agreed to a clause in our contract on the phone, even though she hadn't, and saying to my partner that i'd agreed to it. lying about what the clause was, and enforcing it anyway. This caused stress on our relationship and our home lives as well as constantly having to be on edge for our 6 months in the property as they organised viewings for the flat to be sold every 2 weeks.
These people are expert manipulators and really reinforce the stereotype that estate agents are bad people. Atleast the ones we came across...

So the people seem decent and are approachable and give out useful information and advice. However the company pricing structure and terms and conditions are pretty exploitative and unusally expensive. Foxtons would claim this reflects a premium service. Anyone else wouldn't agree... This is then topped off with zero flex on rates or pricing. Which just doesn't work in 21st cent society which is in decline. Eventually it will catch up as more and more people DIY let. Big shame as clear gap in the market to reach middle ground and people are open ton convo. Read T and Cs very carefully - they will take a buck anywhere they can get it.

Foxtons often gets a bad rep (and in many cases, rightfully so) but my experience with the Peckham branch was different. They were responsive, friendly and helpful throughout my tenancy. A big thank you to Juste who went beyond her duties to help me in a complicated situation.

We bought a house and Foxtons Peckham were the selling estate agent. They were great throughout, really helpful, available to chat when we needed and went out of their way to ensure both we and the seller were happy with everything. Nick and the team in the Peckham were great, even going out of their way to help me collect keys out of office hours due to travel delays.

Our experience with the sales team at the new Foxtons' Peckham branch was outstanding. The entire team was professional and knowledgeable about our property and the surrounding area. They kept us well informed at every step of the sales process and often communicated with us outside of expected business hours. They matched our expectations on sale price and sold our property within our tight deadline.
