Worst estate agent I’ve had in 4 years of uni. Impossible to get a prompt response to issues. Without a washing machine for 2 weeks and with the blocked pipe it ruined a load of clothes and overflowed all over the kitchen. Oven wasn’t working for 1 month. No compensation offered. Then tried to claim roughly 300 per person from deposit for cleaning an oven (which hadn’t worked for the last month) and a few things left behind. Mould all over the house, estate agents were a nightmare to deal with and so was the landlord. Avoid at all costs.

Had water pouring in my kitchen from the flat above they didn't stop it for 2 weeks which has wrecked the ceiling and wall. They don't care! Yes that is a mushroom growing out of the ceiling.

Sammi in accounts has always been super efficient and informative when needed. Andy has a very friendly manner and always helpful throughout tenancy process. GK Whites were very responsive during our tenancy and fixed any issues that did arise. However, on moving out they charged us almost £400 for a professional house clean. Their excuse was that we had left dust and the oven wasn’t clean. We made sure the house was clean, did two oven cleans and were still penalised. Be careful at the end of your tenancies, they will try take your deposit. Take photos of everything once you move in.

I can't for the life of me figure out if the reviews for GK Whites are genuine. We wish in the 2 years we spent letting with GK Whites that we would have the same experience as many of your other letters but unfortunately that has not been so. We have had on going issues with the property for nearly a year and although informing them of problems with maintainence, communication, and a disregard for our living conditions, no effort to sort these issue has been made. The house came into ill-repair march of 2020 and remains broken as of writing this review. Do not let with them.

I've had a fantastic experience renting a house with this agency! As a student, it can be hard to find an honest and trustworthy agency in Brighton but G K Whites haven't let us down. They've been friendly and helpful throughout the year and have always responded instantly to maintenance requests. Josh, our letting agent, gave us excellent advice in relation to the end-of-tenancy cleaning and we managed to get our full deposit back within a couple of days after we'd moved out. Thank you!

Never had any problems with the agents and rented with them for 4 years. Any problems we have had were fixed quickly and they were always very accommodating about when we had a property inspection or letting us know when work / gas safety check was going to be conducted.

As far as student housing agencies go, GK Whites were very good. Problems throughout the tenancy were dealt with in a timely manner and staff were helpful and polite. There was a slight delay in the return of the housing deposit but it was returned in full.

I'm a landlord with GK Whites; a retired engineer looking for a place to put my savings and provide an income. As an ex-student myself (many years ago) I understand this business from the point of view of both landlord and student, so I looked for an agent who would provide a good letting service to my tennants and who could deal with any problems that arose in the day-to-day running of the property as efficiently and quickly as possible. Whites give me exactly what I need.
I'd recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.

GK Whites are really helpful and a good student rental agency. My estate agent Josh was very helpful from the start, my flatmates and I lost a contract, however, Josh was able to help us get a new one which took away the stress of searching for new houses again. They were very understanding when completing all the paperwork and gave us time to fill it out without any pressure.

Absolutely appauling, I'd give no stars if I could. OK I'll tell y'all a little story. So me and my future housemates had our eye on a place. 2 of us had a proper viewing the other 3 had seen the photos and were happy to proceed.
Went in, money ready to pay the fees (which were really expensive compared to most other agents) and they said we all had to view it regardless of us explaining we were all cool.
In the time between that and the 2nd veiwing for us all, a space of just one day, the Let the property to someone else.
Service was rude, inaccurate and more complicated than it needed.
Avoid if at all possible, especially try and aboud dealing with Josh.
If I didn't have a good name to uphold I'd deficate in their office water cooler, and quite Franky I'm still queit tempted.

We have been studying at the University of Brighton since October 2014 but only with GK Whites for three years (Sept 2016 - Sept 2018), we were with a different estate agency before (they were terrible, no names mentioned).
We have never had any problems with the staff or services at GK Whites, they have been VERY POLITE during all communications, RESPOND QUICKLY to any requests/problems (blocked drains, broken washing machine...etc..), the house was in a very GOOD CONDITION when we moved in, they always ask if it's ok to do the mandatory inspections (not dictate) and are NOT out just to take your money. We feel like that DO CARE about their tenants and want to help the best they can, and it shows in their service.
Therefore, I would rate them as one of the BEST student rental agencies in Brighton and WOULD RECOMMEND then to anyone.

Being a tenant for GK Whites, I have never had any issues with them. They are friendly and any maintenance issues we have had; they have been responsive and communication is clear. Having had a bad experience with an estate agents as students prior, Josh was very understanding about the concerns and thorough checks we had, and they have not failed this and have followed through with what they say. I would recommend GK Whites to anyone in, Brighton, especially students.
