As a tenant, it has been such a wonderful experience having John Hilton & Co -Brighton as our estate agency so far. Especially Jake Mehmet is always very helpful with anything relating to the house including any maintenance issues and very attentive in his occupation, responding to any queries in a timely manner. I would recommend John Hilton & Co to anyone who is looking to start a tenancy as it is a pleasure to have them as the first agency I have worked with.

The worst tenancy experience I’ve ever had, if I could give zero stars I would. They didn’t care at all for our well-being - our house was literally falling apart, but despite our complaints, they only began some repairs when we had 2 months left of our tenancy (without ever consulting us about the huge inconvenience the invasion of our living spaces caused,) simply so they could raise the rent for the next tenants. They would also refuse to take any responsibility for anything, and even had the audacity to demand we pay for pest control services for a mice infestation, despite the fact that this infestation occurred long before we moved in (we have evidence from the previous tenant of this). I still don’t think they’ve fixed the numerous holes in the walls that caused this problem. I was dismayed and disgusted by our treatment at the hands of this agency. Watch your back with these people - they will treat you like dirt, patronise you and don’t listen to a word you say, and are remorseless with the way they try to leech money out of poor students who can barely afford the extortionate rent in the first place.
Extra heads up - our property manager was named Michael, and he did not even have the decency to respond to our emails half the time.
Edit: Just seen John Hilton’s reply and it’s honestly laughable that they’d call my review unfair. They took over our tenancy very early in the year, and so while they may not hold responsibility for the conditions of the property during the first few months, they most certainly hold responsibility for the majority of the year. It is also true that Michael, at our repeated request, visited the house during the year to discuss our issues; after the visit, he promptly ignored our follow up emails and followed through with exactly zero of the resolutions we had so rightly proposed. I can’t really be bothered to go through every tiny little issue as this agency always tries to find a way to twist it, so I’ll just find solace in the fact that my self and John Hilton each know the truth of the matter, whether this agency will admit it or not. John Hilton, I find it despicable that a rich, large and exploitative company such as yourselves would put students through such dismissal and ordeals, and then have the cheek to attempt to manipulate the facts in order to construe yourselves in a better light - you’ve already taken enough of our money, at least have the decency to own up to what you are. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

One of property manager Michael went above and beyond to help out after office hours on a Saturday night, absolutely grateful.
Forgot to mention, one of the agent who has been in charge of our property, Kimberley has been super helpful and responsive in terms of assistances since we have started renting our property from late 2022. As our contract is slowly coming to an end I appreciate all the help and supports she has been providing us, as troubling as some of the issues were she has been doing her best to communicate with us. Thank you

We had such a positive experience renting with John Hilton, and couldn't recommend them enough!
Catrina initially showed us round the property for our viewing, and we immediately felt comfortable and at ease.
Kimberly then looked after us for the duration of our rental, from being there to check us in on the first day, occasionally popping round for checks, and always being on hand when any issues came up throughout our stay. She is such a genuine person, super communicative and was always such a great help getting things resolved and relaying information to our Landlord too.
Would highly recommend John Hilton, and wouldn't think twice about using them in the future! Thank you so much :)

I made a buy-to-let investment with John Hilton, and I've been thoroughly impressed with their services. From the initial property viewing to tenant management and addressing any potential issues, their performance has been top-notch. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. The Lettings team are superb and are super responsive.
What's particularly brilliant is their extensive network of reliable subcontractors who provide cost-effective solutions and who respond promptly to any issues or problems that happen in the flat. I would 100% recommended John Hilton to anyone who is looking for an estate agent in the Brighton area.

Me and 5 others rented student accomodation through John Hilton - and our agent was Kimberley. Kimberley was really kind and helpful whenever there was an issue and communicated well with us whenever we needed anything. She helped on many occasion to make sure everything was okay with the house and always chased up things swiftly. Thank you for all your help :)

I cannot recommend John Hilton Estate Agents highly enough. From my initial chat with Marius, to the wonderful Gaynor in Admin, and Tom who sold my house in less than a week of marketing to the excellent attention of Tracy, who liaises between buyer, seller and both solicitors with the conveyancing side of things - I am a very happy client. Tom was so hands on with his advice and knowledge of the market and the photographer was really good too. I felt looked after, respected and I always got a call back within minutes. If you want to sell your property well, in a BN postcode - look no further. Give them a call.
