Choosing an agent felt like a big decision at the start, but we absolutely made the right one with Hodsons.
We had several valuations from other agents, but Hodsons stood out for their balanced approach — ambitious yet realistic valuation, and their refreshing no-pressure sales style.
The whole team were friendly, professional, and efficient.
Patrick really understood our priorities, marketing our home to the right audience, handling negotiations well and securing the right price for our property.
Leanne and the wider sales team kept us updated throughout and were flexible with viewings to fit around our schedules.

The sales team are 5 stars, from the valuation through to a professional photographer then organising the viewings were smooth and efficient.
However, the post sales progress really let things down. Despite being the seller and the one paying the commission, they certainly come across as working for the buyer instead, prioritising them throughout. I was made to feel that I was the one that jeopardized the sale and the reason why it fell through, despite the buyers submitting new enquiries every week.
The property was marketed in May 2025 as no chain and I had moved out to speed up the process as the buyers were expecting their first child.
I purchased the Management Pack in September and in November the very petty buyers were still submitting more enquiries, 36 of which were for a free solar panel. They also wanted warranties for the white goods which had expired after two years, as standard. They were also unhappy that the roads hadn't been adopted fully by Trinity Management, something way above all of our pay grades. Despite all of this, Lesley was quick to ensure I was at fault for all of this.
I bent over backwards for six months and was told by Lesley that my resistance to pay for things like a roof inspection on a 4 year old house, and being accused of invalidating my NHBC warranty by adding a solar panel has made the buyer, six months into the process bail out. The house was built by Croudace in 2021 and came with the solar panel in fact. End of October 2025, I asked to speed up the process as I was wanting to reserve on a new property with my partner, and informed Lesley of this. Not only did she not respond to this but when my solicitors told the buyers to hurry things along, Lesley said this is the main reason the sale fell through as I had given them an ultimatum.
I have spent £1,950 on this process, lost two plots by not being able to reserve as the communication lacked and length of the sale was delayed and now being told despite my best efforts it is all my own fault.
I had foolishly recommended Hodsons to two friends already.
**Also note that the large majority of the 5 star reviews on here are from buyers which confirms my comment that Hodsons prioritise and seem to work for the buyer rather than the seller.**
It's a real shame as your sales team are wonderful but sales progression let's the whole thing down.

Hodsons was absolutely great at securing me a viewing at a property which I hadn't had any luck with through another agency it was listed with. The viewing was booked quickly, which I knew showed that they had a very good relationship with the seller, and communication with me was prompt and efficient.
When I got to the viewing, I was shown round by Leanne who was brilliant. She was knowledgeable, friendly and really helpful. I put an offer in later that day, which was accepted ????, and I'm now looking forward to moving into a beautiful house thanks to Hodsons.

We sold our house via Hodson's over the summer of 2024 and every person we dealt with there was absolutely excellent. I wouldn't go as far as saying our house sale was "fun" (are they ever?), but Hodson's certainly provided a constant source of happy vibes through the whole process!

We have recently sold our property with Hodsons Didcot and they were great throughout.
Previously we had a bad experience with another local estate agent so were slightly sceptical about the whole progress. Initially we met Patrick who came across as a genuine nice guy, he was enthusiastic but not pushy. He then organized for us to meet Annita and Alan as they would be part of the process, which we also liked.
They organised the professional photos which were really good quality (they are that great we would like to use them for our business) and got the house on the market.
Throughout the whole process we were kept up to date with regular phone calls and emails.
Our original buyer then pulled out of the purchase but the team did everything they could to get the house back on the market and sold again, which they did within 3 days. This meant we got to keep the house we were buying. At this point we realised that Patrick, Annita and Alan were incredible and really did everything that they could for us.
Once we had sold Kerry then took over to be our contact and liaised with all the Solicitors, she is worth her weight in Gold for all the chasing she did especially towards the end. I can’t recommend the team enough.

Myself and my husband found a house that we loved and leanne from hodsons didcot showed us around it and a few others. She managed to fit us in really last minute ( 2 hours notice if that ) and was so warm and loverly during these viewings . We have hsd lots of contact with leanne since and she is always keeping us in the loop and always responds to us the same day. She had been so understanding and helpful and she isnt our agent as we are from a different area but if we did ever want to move again once we move areas we would be sure to ask for leanne to help us do this. There are some estate agents out there who are out to unfairly profit from renters; safe to say Hodsons isn't one of them.

Hodsons provided a fantastic, personal service for the whole process. They put our house up on a Friday and by the Monday we'd accepted an offer!
The best service offered though was Kerry's incredible work in pushing the whole sale through. There were a number of problems with the rest of the chain, but Kerry kept pushing, talking to all the other estate agents and solicitors where she could, all while keeping us and our buyers fully informed throughout. I honestly don't think it would have happened without her!
Buying a house in the UK is one of the most stressful things a person can do, but Kerry and the team at Hodsons took so much of that away and kept us from pulling all of our hair out!
I will be recommending them to anyone I know who's looking to move in the future.

From my first conversation with the team, I knew I wanted them to help us sell our house. We had already been recommended by our neighbours, and they had sold 3 houses on our street.
