We used Ian at Hunters to sell our home and also for the purchase of our new house, both in Haxby. We had a few complications along the way but Ian was always there to keep everything together and resolve issues as required. He managed to keep the chain together throughout all the unexpected disasters and we are delighted with our lovely new home.
If we ever do move again we hope to deal with Ian/Hunters again in the future.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The most painful experience of attempting to purchase a house. After negotiating through Ian and having an offer accepted… that’s where it went downhill. No communication, no callbacks when promised. Everything you expect from an estate agent just didn’t transpire. I was that fed up from the complete lack of communication, I went looking for the office at which I stood outside the address and called the number for Hunters. Upon calling the number from my mobile, Ian answers “ Neil, I’ll give you a call back… I’m just on a viewing”. How did he know it was me when I was ringing the office? Yet again, 5 hours passed and no callback. We ended up pulling out of purchasing the property through Hunters. 1. Because the situation of who we were purchasing from didn’t progress. 2. I did everything I could to not purchase a property through Hunters for the sheer satisfaction. Seriously people….. AVOID!

Ian came round to our house and was extremely enthusiastic about our home. Ian has originally sold it to us 5 years previously and had done a great job then. We had made a lot of improvements over the years and Ian noticed them all. I instructed Hunters that day, and only a few days later it was OTM with a beautiful professional video. We had a number of viewings straight away and a number of offers. Ian guided us through the offers and we were very happy with the offer that we accepted. I have moved a few times, but this must have been the smoothest sale that I have ever experienced. Initially we listed our house with another agency however they were unable to do much for us and we ended up in a position Where we needed to sell quickly, so we went to a ‘we buy any house’ type company. Unfortunately they we much slower than we expected, and reduced their offer for our house substantially at the last minute, so in the end we decided to go back down the conventional route.
Ian was excellent and really worked hard to to move our house quickly and for the right money. Within a couple of days he had 7 viewings lined up and had an offer for us within 3 days, even before the for sale sign went up. It was clear that they pulled out all the stops for us and I cannot recommend Hunters enough. We will certainly be calling on them when it comes time for us to buy out next house.

Despite the current coronavirus situation our sale and purchase went through very quickly. Claire had built up a very good relationship with our buyers which really helped the process. You do feel like you’re dealing more with individuals than a company which gives you more of a personal touch.

I can't praise Ian and Claire Dunlop enough . I realise everyone cannot have our experience - second day of advertising house sold for full asking price .
Every step of the way Ian and Claire were ahead of the game and keeping my wife and I upto date . Their knowledge especially local knowledge meant they know local solicitors etc. Nothing was a problem even when we locked ourselves out of our house they thankfully had a key and Claire came around within 10 minutes to let us in .

To say our house move didn't go smoothly is an understatement - but made all the easier for navigating this process with Ian and Claire! Not only did these lovely people find us a buyer in a couple of weeks once but they did it twice, 8 weeks later when the chain broke and the sale fell through at practically the eleventh hour. We were put back on the market in 24 hours and had a sale by the first people to view a week later. WELL DONE GUYS! This new chain further down was painfully slow to say the least and we were under a time pressure but we were supported throughout in a professional and always super friendly manner, even when we were totally frustrated along the way. Hunters have handled two moves in Haxby for me. The first was as smooth as they can be. The second sale led to our buyers suddenly pulling out and the potential collapse of 6 other house deals in our chain! Ian and Claire provided excellent leadership and support in this situation. Their experience and local knowledge kicked in as did great advice on house presentation. It's this house selling expertise that literally turned the situation around and enabled everyone to move. We got the house sale we needed and the house we wanted. Online sites can't give you expertise like this. I'd always recommend Hunters Haxby as you can't beat local knowledge, commitment and professionalism.

Highly recommend Ian and Claire. Both provided a friendly,professional service. Having not moved house for 27 years, it was reassuring to have expert advice throughout the selling process. We were given updates at regular intervals on progress and always received a prompt, friendly response to concerns. We accepted their advice to allow them to sell the property to viewers with little or no input from ourselves. This took much of the stress from the process and proved , in our opinion, a significant factor in the success of the sale.

As first-time sellers, and selling due to an imminent move abroad, we found ourselves suddenly thrown into the "deep end" and under huge time pressures to find a buyer.
We turned to Ian Dunlop who was, to put it bluntly, outstanding. From the obvious things (like legal paperwork and matters of process) to important things (like introducing us to an equally helpful solicitor, Sandra Elliott), and from professional things (like calming our very frayed nerves and indulging us in our paranoia) to more subtle things (like discreetly parking far away so as not to alert the neighbours prematurely that we were going), Ian was a rock.
Just 8 weeks passed by from our first chat with Ian to completion on the sale (at virtually the asking price). Even acknowledging that this was our one and only experience of selling, it was all done under incredibly challenging social circumstances.
