After a disastrous attempt to sell in 2018/2020 when Brexit uncertainty, then Covid and a reprehensible purchaser all let us down, we were apprehensive of what might go wrong this time. Also a brief flirtation with the market in the autumn of 2022 was torpedoed by Truss/Kwarteng. So we have been very pleasantly surprised on this occasion in early 2023 to find Jackson Stops manage our sale so well. Two viewings, both before the house went on the open market, produced two acceptable offers (though one reduced his offer almost immediately and of course we went with the other). Throughout Darrell and Nicki in particular have been impressively professional and have kept us fully in the picture and where necessary have kept the pressure on at the other end to speed things up. Based on this experience, we would highly recommend them and we just hope the actual move goes as smoothly!

What really impressed us was how the whole team personally came to visit the house and were so knowledgable and helpful. We had a chain of five and as is often the case, bringing the whole chain together at the right time was a particular challenge. Darrel and Lucy were up to it though, and with the rest of the team at the agency, nothing was too much trouble and the journey from the initial marketing through to exchange was very smooth. Jackson-Stops Dorking were the sole selling agents for my house in the village of Holmbury St Mary. They produced good photographs and property details and arranged a few viewings and two serious (but low) offers. However, the people that actually purchased my house were ex-villagers and known to me personnally who, sadly, were registered with Jackson-Stops when they saw my house advertised therefore resulting in my liability for fees. The sale ended up being long and drawn out (9 months+) because we had delay after delay with the (finally aborted) house purchase we intended. In the end, when our purchase fell through, I myself negotiated with my buyers not to put my house back on the market at a substantially higher price and agreed an increased offer to allow us to go into rented accommodation and managed to complete so that they achieved the reduced stamp duty deadline. Annoyingly, Jackson-Stops still charged me full fees on the difference in sale price. Having said that, they were friendly and helpful (if a bit negative sometimes) and the sale was handled professionally and effectively given the circumstances. In general, I would recommend Jackson-Stops to prospective vendors and thank Nicki, Lucy and David for their ongoing assistance during the process.

It obviously matters to them to get a positive outcome for their clients. The whole team were excellent but Lucy, and Darrell in particular, went beyond the call of duty with good humour, positivity and resourcefulness, which made things so easy. We're really grateful and glad we chose them.

Jackson Stops is a wonderful agency with incredible staff, especially Lucy. She was so professional but also kind and patient. She sold us our dream home and we will be eternally grateful to her. In 2020 there were many estate agents that were either closed or whose remote working systems were so poor that they might as well have been. Jackson Stopps were fully manned (and womenned?) from May 2020 onward. They seemed to be selling everything they had, so choosing them to represent me was easy. They got me under offer and then sold, bringing in people from Surrey and London. I would use them again without hesitation. BTW I should also add that they called me twice after moving to see that I had settled in ok, that is attention to detail.

J-S was selected because the firm has a very good market reputation but we had no previous contact with the Dorking branch. We chose very well - our experience can only be described as outstanding. Our home was always going to be challenge to sell because of location so this was not a simple case of advertise and it would fly off the books in a few days and the agent would quickly earn a fat commission for doing very little. The process had to be worked professionally and indeed it was. This was a superb J-S Dorking team effort but we would also single out Chris Fairclough who was exceptional as our principal point of contact. Never did we feel we were being treated as "just another client"; Chris at no time gave the impression that he was juggling lots of priorities and we were just one of those sales to spend a few minutes on from time to time before moving onto someone else. The start point of our relationship was getting a realistic valuation for the property I wished to sell as Executor for a deceased Aunt. Other agents indicated a higher value than did Alan King but I have found out the hard way before that there is no point in pitching the sale price of a house unrealistically high.
I chose Jackson-Stops as Agents because they seemed to have more fire in their bellies than was apparent in some of their competitors. It was not a decision I regretted. The flow of information and advice was of the best quality, so I knew of each viewing beforehand and received useful feedback afterwards. I also received a weekly summary of all web activity.
Once we had an interested buyer there were certain bureaucratic hurdles to overcome but Chris Fairclough was helpful and patient in dealing with these so that we were able to conclude a satisfactory sale.
I have no hesitation in commending Jackson-Stops. Indeed, if ever I decide to sell my own home they would now be my first choice estate agent.

Having attempted unsuccessfully with another supposed 'high end' estate agent in Dorking we were left bitterly disappointed given their unrealistic over-promise and under-delivery.
We initially brought in the services of Jackson Stops and Staff (JSS) to value our property and bid for our business. We also brought in the aforementioned agent as we had used a previous branch before.
