Within 1 day of the house being posted on Right Move there were10 requests for viewings and altogether over the first weekend I had 17 viewings.
Two buyers offered the full asking price and I left all negotiations to the estate agent and the house was sold within 2 days of it going on the market

5 stars all the way. They are a very professional outfit. I am always kept upto date on any happenings regarding my tenancy through their Portal. Their communications, quality of tenants, and speedy responses make them a prime choice for anyone letting properties in Chesterfield. I was with a different agency previously, and MartinCo are miles ahead with their level of professionalism and conduct. We’ve had the pleasure of using Martin & Co Chesterfield for our rental properties for over 15 years now, and wouldn’t go anywhere else, they deliver a first class service from start to finish!
Any questions we have regarding tenancy laws and legislation are always answered, and we’re confident that they know the rental business inside out so are always advising us correctly.
Their service is friendly, professional and very competitively priced compared to other letting agents in the area, and they always find us new, quality tenants fast so we haven’t got void time for a property.
All the staff there are knowledgeable, friendly and approachable if we need any advice on any issues regarding our lets, or tenants, or any advice on new changes in rental legislation.
All the team there are very helpful and knowledgeable but our particular go-to person there is Kerry Baker. She’s been a star and so helpful to us over the years, we can trust in her advice and she’s guided us through the ‘art’ of being a landlord right from the start of our journey when we bought our very first rental years ago.
She knows everything you need to know about letting properties and is one of the reasons why we keep our repeat business there.

Very expensive for tenants who rent with this agent. They have silly name's for all different charges to bump up the price, such as, moving in fee = £25, moving out fee = £25 payable at the start of the tenancy with the moving in fee! Admin charges = £50! What type of admin are they doing that costs £50?? On top of tenant checks fee = £150 for the main applicant and £100 each for every other occupant. This is on top of the normal costs and fees you pay with an agent!
I’m very sorry to Martin & Co Chesterfield branch for posting this review about them. It was Martin & Co Sheffield branch who I was reviewing and from whom I rented my property. The agents from the Sheffield branch even had the cheek and audacity to let themselves in my house twice. One of the times that this happened I was asleep in bed and woke up to a man I’d never met walking through my house then I heard him running up my stairs and I absolutely crapped myself! I thought he had broken in and didn’t know what to expect from him when he came across me on my own! Really did the opposite of making me feel safe in my home!

We placed the property with Martins in 2011 to let and manage for us after we inherited the property!! Initially they gave us useful advice on how to present the property, and found people do the work (electricians, plumbers etc). We chose to use Martins fully managed service; leaving less for us to do!! We have been very pleased with how Martins have managed the two tenancies that there have been in the ten years. They have kept us fully informed of any problems or issues, dealt with any repairs for us and liaised with the tenant!! The monthly rent has always appeared in our bank account as regularly as clockwork!! Kerry and Danielle are worth a particular mention!! They are the two people I have had most dealings with, and both cannot do enough to make the tenancy run successfully!! I would thoroughly recommend

Amazing service and a very professional approach.
I called Martin and co because I was looking for a professional opinion on the value of a property, I was connected to Gabrielle the branch manager and after a short conversation with her, it would have been obvious that my request would have no financial reward to the company. But this had no influence on the way I was treated, I was given an appointment with one of her team, Anna Bentley. Anna arranged to meet me at the property and sent a confirmation email.
On the day it was raining and cold but Anna arrived on time and gave all the time and professional help I needed, it was also followed up with a detailed report.
It’s really refreshing change to work with a team / company who put PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT !

We have been letting through Martin and Co for nearly 7 years now and part of the reason we’ve stayed in this property so long is because Martin and Co make it incredibly easy to rent. As a tenant you worry that repairs won’t get sorted quickly but no matter what we report, it gets sorted promptly and efficiently. We’re always kept updated and the contractors that they use are very professional and friendly and get the job done quickly. We know a lot of the contractors now and nothing is ever too much trouble. Highly recommend Martin and Co as letting agents.

Nothing but excellent service from this Estate Agency! I put my house on the market in January but due to Covid the sale took 10 months! We had to jump through so many hoops and we lost the first buyer due to matters outside of our control. This was my first house sale so I had many questions/concerns - I felt like i rang them way too much, but they were always happy to speak to me. I could always get through to them (even when they were working from home!) and they were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

Martin & Co Chesterfield did the impossible!
We purchased a property advertised through Martin & Co Chesterfield with an almost impossible completion date.
With the help of Josh he chased the vendor's solicitors and we chased ours, giving each other regular updated this ensured the house completed in just over 7 weeks!

Michael Jones at the Chesterfield branch has can have a very bad attitude when confronted or asked difficult questions. I will never rent a premises with these agents again. Pregnant and very stressed/upset as Michael comes across as belittling and talks down to you. As a tenant I feel our experience has been let down by how the agents have approached us when required and how the handle our discrepancies. Unfortunately it seems they are all for the landlord/ladies as they are their client and want to keep them happy for obvious reasons (money/business) and we as tenants come last therefore are treated unfairly with an argumentative manner from the branch manager....
I am very disappointed in the level of professionalism and the lack of compassion!

Very efficient and helpful service. Sold our house within 3 days and moved within 2 months. Excellent photographs and pitched just right.
Only one negative was the solicitor that they recommended for our buyer was slow, hard to contact and told some lies. That wasn’t Martin & co’s fault but I would not be recommending them to customers again based on our experience.

Have just moved into a property using Martin & Co, and have had a very good experience especially with Samuel who has been brilliant through the move and after. Can't say the referencing system was great (though I don't have another to compare it to), but outside of that all has been excellent, and I would recommend going through Martin & Co to anyone who asks!
