Martyn Cox and Company successfully sold my late father’s flat in Witney. It was a difficult market, but they were able to find a good owner/occupier buyer and achieve a reasonable price given the current market conditions. They are a smaller, independent, agent and adopt a more personal approach than I have previously experienced with some of the larger corporates. This I liked. Communication was excellent throughout. Once the offer was accepted, the follow up process was also excellent and helped enormously in smoothing difficulties when they arose. Throughout the whole process we were supported by the amazing Office Manager, Lily, who honestly I couldn't have gotten through the process without, she was constantly going above and beyond and was the essential cog in the whole process, communicating with all stakeholders and their solicitors, continually pushing the process on, she has been consistently attentive and diligent.
During the time of our sale and purchase we have dealt with Simon and Duncan as well, they were both keen to help and support if Aaron was unavailable.
Overall, the whole team deserve these 5 stars, they have renewed my faith in Estate Agents and I would not hesitate to both recommend and use them again.

Absolute pleasure to deal with from first viewing to completion. Gary was happy to arrange a viewing for me outside standard viewing times to make it more convenient for me to fit it in after work, and during the viewing was always informative without ever being pushy or reciting spiel. As a first time buyer needing a lot of hand holding I couldn't have asked for a better agent - whilst obviously an agent needs to work for the benefit of both buyers and sellers (and themselves of course!) I never felt I was being pushed into decisions or given ultimatums. I was guided through the whole process and was always responded to rapidly whenever I had any questions. Gary was also instrumental in recommending a local solicitors that processed the conveyancing efficiently, after I'd run into frustrations looking for local mortgage brokering help and had been disappointed with their service.
Of course all experiences can differ and others will have different needs, but as a first-time buyer I would not hesitate to recommend Martyn R Cox & Co as a first class estate agent.

Experience made me a challenging client for any estate agency. And the first challenge was: ‘Will you accept a 1-month contract instead off the usual 3 so I can change my mind if dissatisfied? No problem they said. And they were right: despite the somewhat unstable Brexit-affected market they performed admirably. A small example, they did not hire photographers. Seemingly casual ‘snaps’ were so good my wife and I thought they were of a much more attractive cottage! And, importantly, neither our hospital appointments nor an operation gave them problems: they adjusted plans, often at short notice to help us.
We could not have wished for better: more like help from friends than agents.

I have just exchanged on my second home purchased through Martyn R Cox and I couldn't have asked for anymore as a buyer.
Chris is very professional and one of the best agents I've come across whilst viewing properties in Witney he is punctual, always makes you feel very comfortable and answers any questions knowledgeably. He listens to your individual requirements and always keeps you up to date with the latest available properties.
Vicki has really been the driving force in getting my most recent purchase over the line within the required timescale. She has liaised with all parties and their solicitors tirelessly and really helped to speed things up should there ever be a delay in the process. She is always prompt to respond to any enquiries and nothing is ever too much trouble.
On the whole from a buyers perspective I would highly recommend Martyn R Cox they are welcoming, professional and everything is done with a smile.

We have recently sold our property through Martyn R Cox and cannot recommend them highly enough. From the outset they were professional, friendly and honest. Although we had been through the selling and buying process a couple of times before their advice was at times invaluable. We had a couple of hick ups along the way (the owner of the property we were purchasing passed away) Martyn R Cox were quick to liaise with our solicitors, our buyers solicitors, other estate agents and kept everyone informed and most importantly they kept the chain together. During the whole process I made numerous phone calls to their office and they were always available and ready to reassure me! Thank you Martyn R Cox!

So disappointing - such bad service! Snap shot from the email to them...
At the outset we were underestimated as potential buyers of the property.
We now understand that just after we visited the property, the vendor removed the house from sale, having accepted an offer from other buyers. It was at that point that we were rushing to get our house on the market, as you well knew. Nobody from your organisation saw fit to give us that little gem of information; information that could have saved us £800 and the effort of getting our property in tip-top saleable state.
Edited - to add that I was contacted about this review, and wasn't left with any more respect than I had to start with. So the house was left on the market when an offer was accepted from client 1 pending them being able to proceed, but they were not open to any other viewings. The offer had gone in just before our second viewing, and also spending out on purple bricks (who were very good). Allegedly this was also a benefit to us, not sure how?
At NO time were we contacted to be given any update or information on the sale of the property. It was only when I called in when the house was finally posted as 'SSTC' that we found out where things were.
We were not taken seriously as purchasers, and were just the back up - and we lost our £800 that we didn't need to spend. If we had been made aware of the facts at the time of our second viewing we would have walked away.

Having been in the same property for 32 years I was full of apprehension at the start but I was quickly assured by the calm and professional advice received from Simon and subsequently Chris, during the sale I was most impressed and grateful for the prompt reply to any queries I had and the feed back received. As the sale progressed I found Vicki’s help in keeping me informed of the progression within the chain invaluable. I would happily recommend Martyn R Cox and wish I was dealing with them in the purchase of my new property which sadly hasn’t been the same.

We can't say enough good things about Martyn R Cox & Co. We have been clients twice with them: before as first buyers and after as vendors. From both sides and experiences, their service has been simply impeccable and their agents are such great people which the best words in the world cannot be good enough for. Responsive to all our requests and questions, transparent, professional, reliable, precise, patient and keen to provide the best solutions are some of the fantastic qualities we can say about them. In our experience as first buyers, we came across a tough and sneaky vendor, which was their client at the time. This great "family-team"(as they are more than an estate agency) went the extra mile, helping as much as they could in the negotiation and compromising our reasonable requests against the non-sense ones of the vendor (memorable has been their help with the relocation of our furniture). We had such a good memory and reputation that we have recently decided to sell our property through them. None of our expectations was let down again. The views were starting on the same day of the advertising and we received the first offer in only a week time. They have been spot on in every step and query: super comunicative, responsive, understanding, clear, and efficient. We cannot stress enough their professionalism in every stage, in particular a special thanks goes to Vicki and Lucy for their superb customer service, for their negotiating skills and for being so comprensive in such a stressful time.
