Founded in late 2020 by Richard Whatton who has extensive knowledge and a wealth of experience in the local property market. He originally began his career as an estate agent back in early 2001.

In addition we can recommend some reputable and reliable RICS surveyors (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and even put you in touch with local and competitively priced removal companies, so that you are well prepared for that 'BIG' moving day of yours!

Richard was not professional in our dealings with him. In a long chain it took 8 months from offer to move and he was absent for so much of the time that I negotiated a commission discount after four months. He readily agreed because he had not given us any service; what he did not then have to do was to ignore us as he had before. An immature Whatsapp comment when we finally moved rounded off a terrible service of a very long move process. My name is Clive Farrow and Richard knows exactly who I am. Avoid.

Setting a realistic price and taking amazing photos that were so much better than other agents we have used previously, really accentuating the space and scale of the property. He set up 10 viewings on launch date which generated multiple offers. Also the mortgage adviser he recommended was an absolute star. Richard was great from start to finish you could really feel he puts his all into your property. We constantly had a direct line, queries were answered very quickly professionally. He defended my property and it's value when it was questioned, most estate agents are so keen to sell that they would have come back to the seller and asked if we would consider reducing but he stood by his valuation and our desire to achieve a certain price and it sold 7 days after doing on the market.
He really does go above and beyond, sending me houses that he thinks I would like that are with other estate agents when he doesn't have to (one of which I bought ). Being self-employed, he obviously has to have a certain amount of self-interest however it did not come across like that. He was always available to help and give advice about the whole moving process, not only relating to my sale but also both mine and my ex partners new purchases. Truly the best estate agent in Swindon!

We first met him when looking for a house to buy. We had our property on the market with another agent and was not getting any interest in it. Richard gave us some advice which we passed on to our agent and the house sold straight away! We obviously wished we had used him to market our house but was sadly tied up in a contract.
We viewed a few houses with Richard. He was always very professional and friendly. The thing we will always remember is how he really listened to what sort of property we were after. Other agents would put us on a mailing list and we would receive random properties emailed to us all the time, none of which fitted any of our preferences. However after a month of scrolling through Rightmove religiously Richard contacted us to say he had just found the perfect property for us. We have just completed on that today and are all very excited.

There's lots of estate agents out there to pick from but you'll be crazy not to choose Richard at Miles Byron.
Richard sold one of our houses, above asking price, before it was even on Rightmove. Our second house, he again sold it above asking price. In about two weeks! He vetted the buyers throughly so both sales went straight through to completion. We'll be selling our third property with him in July.
Richard treats people genuinely. None of this formal sickly, I'm your best mate, schmoozing you get from some other estate agents.

Richard sold my house for me, exchanged contracts yesterday!
His valuation was spot on, and within 3 days he had arranged 4 or 5 viewing and we accepted an offer (over asking price) from one of them.
The legal process throughout can be painful, Richard has guided us through, giving the buyer a nudge when needed to keep things moving. He’s very knowledgeable and aware of the market, a really nice guy you’d like to buy a house off or deal with generally, nothing was too much for him to do, including checking on the house as it was empty, putting the heating on to avoid burst pipes etc.

Well what can I say. As part of the sales process I used two well known estate agents and was recommended Miles Byron through a family friend. All I can say is I’m so glad I found Miles Byron. Richard (I still go to call him Miles ????) was absolutely brilliant. Miles Byron has been, by far, the most easy to work with estate agent I have ever encountered. Richard is extremely friendly, approachable, informative and honest which is most refreshing and makes the process of selling your house as stress-free as possible (which is hard)!
No matter what time of the day or night I had a question, Richard would always respond promptly and go the extra mile to follow up if necessary. He also made viewings line up on days that suited me, instead of his busy schedule, and communicated them to me almost instantaneously. He took into consideration every request I had and never forgot to inform me along the way.
Even towards the later stages of completion, when required to be the 'go between' I received the same service; quick responses and open communication. I could not have asked for any more!

I viewed four houses before I met Richard from Miles Byron and in each house the estate agent gave me a full tour; now the houses I am viewing are not mansions; more like 2 up/2 down so to have someone say, “here’s the bedroom”, etc was infuriating and with a complete stranger tagging along for the tour you can’t quite get a “feel” of could this be your home or not.
Richard however, had a different approach and was brilliant from the start.
I had been looking at a house on Rightmove for quite some time but thought it was outside my league but then all of a sudden things changed. I spoke to Richard and booked a viewing; now this viewing was so different; he didn’t do a guided tour, he let my friends and I explore and stayed out the way and then we rejoined and answered any questions we had.
I knew I had found my dream home and didn’t even make it home before putting an offer in.
Richard very quickly responded and within 48hours my offer had been accepted!
Now my solicitors throughout this buying process have caused HUGE stress but anytime I had problems Richard advised/chased solicitors and I have really felt Richard’s support throughout this buying process.
I would highly recommend Miles Byron; very professional but also very personable and proactive.

We initially invited Richard round to give us a valuation, and were unsure at that point if we wanted to sell or stay put.
I immediately liked Richard. He was professional but friendly, clearly passionate about his job and most importantly respected our house as our home.
Richard was very understanding around our uncertainty & kindly got everything ready for us to go live on the market, if/as & when we were ready, but there was never any pressure at all.
When we found a house that we loved, Richard had us on the market and an asking price offer from cash buyers basically within 24hours!! This offer was also £30k higher than what another agent had suggested starting at.
Richard also gave up an entire Sunday to do another 8 viewings for us.
It has also been great having Richard as a point of contact to ask for advice with regards to our purchase. He gave so much good advice in terms of what to offer and even helped us to negotiate, contacting the agent directly on our behalf, to help us get the house at the right price.

We invited three different agents to value our home. Richard Whatton gave a realistic, achievable value and his advice throughout was first rate. He clearly is an experienced expert in his field. We sold quickly but unfortunately our chain broke lower down just before Christmas. What can I say, from the time we met Richard when he came to value our property right through to completion, he was the epitome of professionalism.
His valuation was realistic, he didn't waste ours or his time by over valuing the property just to get the instruction, which unfortunately happens way too much in this industry.

We are really pleased and grateful for having an opportunity of buying our first house through Richard. He is an amazing, kind, warm person, and a professional and passionate agent. He really understands the challenges we- the buyers, but also the sellers- need to deal with in the current market. To be honest, I really don't know when Richard finds his time to sleep, he has been always available, super responsive, friendly and full of understanding. Richard very quickly responded to our first viewing request, all went smoothly, staring from the email confirming our viewing, a phone call to double check we are still interested, till the moment we entered the property. We have been searching for a house to buy since October 2021 and we met many agents, but there is something special about Richard which makes you feel safe the moment you start interacting with him. What really impressed us was the time he has given us for the initial viewing, it was 30 minutes, not 15 like it usually happens with other agencies. Richard knew so much about the property we were interested in buying, about the vendors and their buying situation. Richard gave us time while viewing, so that we can "feel" the house, but he was also all the time ready to answer every question we might have had. Eventually, to make our story a little shorter, we managed to get our final offer accepted on this property. That is however not the end of the story.... after about 3 months we found out that the sellers decided not to sell, because they were unable to find a house in their dream location- Cornwall. What touches us till today is, it wasn't just us who were devastated, it was also Richard who took this situation very personally. He showed us so much care and support. What is incredible about Richard, he started searching properties for us to buy, all meeting our requirements, but even those- who were not being sold by his agency!!! How honest and amazing this is?! Richard has been sending us properties which were new to the market (also from other agents) at least once a week since then. I am simply speechless.... this is how Richard cares about his customers, people, everyone around him. I am so glad we could meet Richard, because it's a blessing and unfortunately a rare circumstance nowadays, that you meet people who respect you despite anything and everything, who support and understand you and who help without expecting anything in return.
