There was a hiccup with the sale when the first buyer disappeared off the face of the earth after 5 months, without announcing that he was no no longer interested in my property. When it became evident that he was unobtainable, Peter David rapidly re-assessed the situation, as the market had declined since the first advert, re-advertised it, and it attracted several more viewers, then from my acceptance of a second offer, the whole conveyancing process took 3 months. So fairly quick.

It's almost impossible to get anyone to listen to complaints made by tenants.
I have been in my current property now a month and I haven't had a full night's sleep. So much for a " peaceful location"!
I have sent email after email and Jane has done nothing other than tell me to ring the police or go to the council. Does anyone know how I go about getting someone to listen to me? Currently living a nightmare!

They are friendly efficient and extremely helpful. The tenants they found and recommended to us have become friends. When I started renting my property I knew nothing about the industry and the staff at Peter David talked me through everything I needed to know.
They put me in touch with an electrician, who worked into the evening to complete checks and get a safety certificate in a hurry.

We eventually completed a probate sale via Peter David's Brighouse branch and unfortunately were left very disappointed with the standard of service, poor communication and ultimately a lack of drive to assist with completion.
Our initial dealings were with Sally and we were very impressed with her drive and enthusiasm to have the house on her books, she was the reason we chose Peter David but sadly the team behind her did not follow through in the same manner.
We were lucky the house was an easy sell and we had several offers to choose from, a sale was agreed within a week on August 30th 2022. The first failing was a lack of detail in the due diligence checks on our buyer, the expiry date of the mortgage offer was not noted, this increased the stress of the process in December when completion was still not in sight and we were kept in the dark for 6 weeks not knowing if the sale could fail due to loss of what was a pre-Truss mortgage deal.
The second and most frustrating issue was the lack of proactive updates, in the first 5 weeks we had almost no info on progress after the initial exchange of details. After that we started to ask for info about the buyer's plans re dates etc but it was a real struggle to get anything meaningful from Alex at Peter David's. We made it clear in emails that a regular weekly update would reassure us that our sale was being managed but this was not forthcoming after the first message, a heated telephone call emphasising our dissatisfaction made no difference. Basically if you want to know what's going on you have to keep asking. This is particularly frustrating as we had no way of contacting our buyer other than through the agent. I would advise having a direct line of communication to your buyer if you do not want to be left in limbo as we were for virtually 6 months.
Our final grievance was a complete abdication of responsibility in the last fortnight or so before completion. During a further heated telephone call (for which we again apologise to Emma who bore the brunt of our accumulated frustration at Alex through no fault of her own) it became clear that Peter David were not prepared to make their best efforts to gain updates from our buyer (who it seemed was quite elusive). Their excuse was the buyer worked 9-5 the same as their hours and no one seemed prepared to try to contact her by phone outside these times. At this stage we were looking for reassurance that a completion date could be agreed as all legals were completed. When challenged over this lack of drive to get in touch we were told it was nothing to do with the estate agent and we should just talk to our solicitor. Bearing in mind that only Peter David had lines of communication to all parties this was very unprofessional and unhelpful, it really called into question what was the point of having an estate agent! Following this statement we ceased further correspondence with Peter David as it had been like banging our heads on a brick wall.
Fortunately for us the sale did complete in early March 2023, over 6 months since the offer was received which was ridiculous for a transaction for which there was no chain and our buyer was in rented. Whilst we accept that our buyer appears to have been only loosely engaged with her purchase we feel Peter David were not at all proactive in managing the sale and made the process very stressful for us. It should be no surprise that we would not recommend the Brighouse office.????

It needed a lot of work doing and contractors needed access prior to move in date... which the staff arranged with their client seamlessly. We couldn't visualise what it may look like after renovation but Sally was able to arrange for us to visit a property they had previously sold that had already been renovated....thus going the extra mile for us. The customer service we received from the staff there was excellent, as was the advice and help to obtain our "forever home" at a time when the housing market was going crazy. We can't recommend Peter David's highly enough for their professionalism.

My wife and I have just sold our house through Peter David in Brighouse and managed to get the sale completed and us moved before the end of the stamp duty "holiday" at the end of June 2021 . We put the house up for sale in March and had several estate agents visit and want us to sign with them but we chose Peter David because of their all round professional approach , flexibility with selling tactics ( mix of their website, promotion s on Rightmove etc) and they were the most engaged in wanting to help us . It turned out to be a fantastic decision as Fran, Amelia and the team at Brighouse were fantastic. Their support and helpfulness could not be faulted during a very hectic time for sellers, buyers , estate agents and solicitors. In particular their ability to respond quickly to telephone and emails meant our sale went perfectly. Doing viewings with COVID arrangements in place is not ideal so a logical but flexible approach was needed and this was possible.We would highly recommend them.

Before I explain the details, I would like to say that I have only ever left one bad review before in my life and didn’t enjoy doing it at all but it was necessary. I have left lots of good reviews though.
We were buying through Peter David Properties recently and I have to say that I was so disappointed with their service or lack of...... The details did not include a floor-plan, which is very important as to whether the property is suitable without viewing. There were also key photographs not shown i.e. in the kitchen the inbuilt oven and microwave were not shown. The shower in the bathroom and also a view of the rear of the house.
Don't get me wrong we knew the area so knew that the house was of interest. But the details provided did not do the house justice.
When it came to placing an offer which we did. We were then advised later that we had one more chance to place our highest offer and then the decision as to who could buy it would be based on this. I believe this is a new system that some agents use, but it is very unfair. We lost the house which we loved because of this system and were told it was because we hadn't offered enough. We did advise the agent that we were in a very good position as we had no property to sell a large deposit and a mortgage in principle. We later found out that the agent advised the sellers to go for the higher offer (not much higher) even though that buyer was not in as good a position as ours.
The good part and end to this story is that the buyer with the higher offer could not get a mortgage so the sale fell through, and we got the house. The motto of this story is that it isn't all about 'What's your final & best offer' Its whether you can actually afford the house!!

I was recommended to Peter David Properties by my business partner. Before signing up with them I decided to visit their office to talk to staff and get a feel for the type of service they would offer.
I spoke to Noel who really understood the buy to let market and what would be needed to refurbish and relet the property. Helen and Beckie, who gave me confidence they really understood the market and would be able to sell at a decent price reasonably quickly.
The property was put on the market on 23rd January and was sold on 16th March.

As a joint owner of a property I was shocked to see it up for sale without my consent. Although they may have asked my ex if she was the sole owner, no checks where made to confirm this. In itself, this is excusable but they took over 2 months to remove the property from the market and take down the sign, hence the 1 star.
