We have had nothing but continuous support and guidance from Matt at Shipways who has taken charge of our mortage. As first time buyers with very little experience or knowledge, Matt has always been at the end of an email and responded to us in a timely manner to ensure our question were answered even during his AL. It has felt like a long old journey trying to find the right property for us and getting a mortage that fit with the lifestyle we want to continue to lead. We were contacted by others members of the team when properties came up that were within out budget which definitely contributed to knowing what we did and didn't want in a property leading us to finding the one!!!

After being hounded to see one of there mortgage consultants when we said no to them valueing our house due to have 3 people already and having it on the market, never getting back to us for viewings, numerous calls from different branches for for all the above, to then getting a call asking if I have any properties to rent out and then asking if I had any coming up, honestly this company cannot organise themselves and are clearly the worst of the worst people

You view one property with them and then they call you every week for months after even when you tell them you have found somewhere now. Despite multiple occasions of telling me they have taken me off their contact list, it has now taken me blocking them to stop them calling me.

So far so good in purchasing our first ever property.
Rang up and ended up having a sit down with Matt Gibbs, explained to them our worries and stress and confusion of buying a home the mortgages and how it works.
Matt has this ridiculous ability to take off you all of your worries. Calm you down, do all the hard work for you, keep you smiling and get you a exactly what you're looking for.
I was dreading this process and though not completed just yet i couldn't feel more positive and in good hands.
Huge shout out to Marcus as well, absolute legend constantly going out of his way to make sure we see the property we wanted numerous times and to suit us. Really a great guy. Some people don't want to show you around, Marcus has answers, is helpful, enthusiastic and welcoming.
I honestly couldn't recommend Shipways team enough right now ????

AVOID AVOID AVOID! We tried selling our house through Shipways to no avail and then changed to another estate agent. This was agreed to by shipways. They provided us with a list of people they introduced to the property and we passed it on to our new agent. We had a buyer and sold last autumn. Shipways are now trying to claim £4000 off of us through a debt collector claiming our buyer was introduced by them when they were NOT. We have the list and we have proof. Shameful behaviour!
Also, they listed our property (when we bought it) as a 3 bed when it was actually just a two bed. Be careful about this when they say a loft room is a bedroom because it might not be. We lost thousands because of this.
Do yourself a favour and use any other estate agent.

This is now the 3rd time I have moved house and used Shipways and as always they were brilliant. I used Matt Gibbs (again) for my mortgage advice, protection services and Will and he was fantastic. Helpful, approachable and super friendly. Made the whole process easy and stress free. We also used their recommended solicitor, Conveyancing Direct who were equally amazing, BIG thank you to the team at Shipways and Zoe Matthews at Conveyancing Direct. Hands down, best property Lawyer I have ever used.

Buying a property couldn’t of been made easier Matthew Gibbs’s sorted everything for me I didn’t really have to
Do much just send my statements and I’d and rest was taken care off. he will get you the best mortgage deal possible then when your looking for a property he will call up the sellers for the best offer on the bid so you got more of a chance of getting accepted. I also recommend you use Zoe Matthew’s as your solicitor too as they work as the perfect duo very professional and experienced they been doing this a long time and you wont be left hanging there’s no long waits on replies or inquiries either all the updates will be chased up accordingly and sorted for you honestly hassle free service A++++++++ will be using them both again when I come to sell/ buy again!! Time saver and makes whole
