Compared to two other local agents Staggs were the only agent to ask us what we thought about the value of our property and they worked with us. The other agents assumed a position of knowing what was best without asking our view. They both valued our property a lot less than Staggs and made a mockery of their so called expertise.

We were lucky enough to work with Luke and Samantha when selling our house. Both did a stellar job. Luke was extremely professional when marketing the property and finding us the right buyer. We ended up in a 4 part chain which completed in only 2 months(!) thanks to Samantha's efforts in progressing it. She would send us regular updates so that we always knew how everything was going. Genuinely useless lettings department and company in general. Nothing to do with the property we rented, but these guys are complete lazy blaggers. They don’t communicate between each other, cannot do a handover between each other, don’t answer the phone, don’t follow things through. Cowboys; I’d avoid renting with this company at all costs.

We have just completed the sale on our new home bought through Stags. It has been very stressful but through no fault of the agents. Jon has gone way above what is expected of an agent, always being professional, friendly, courtesy and super helpful. The issues were with the sellers solicitor and Jon did all he could to help and get answers.
Everyone we encountered was polite and a credit to Stags, especially Hannah.

1. Viewings were all covid safe, limited to two people and masks were worn.
2. Communications were excellent. Lauren Anthony is a credit to the organisation and goes above and beyond liaising with solicitors, buyers and sellers which is well beyond the remit of her job.
3. They are easy to contact, and will also make use of email. They also respond to queries very quickly.
4. The brochure we received for the house we bought was clear, concise and the pictures were wonderful.
We sold our house with another firm but will be definitely using Stags if we move again. Outstanding.

We put an offer on a house through Stags 7 months ago, which was accepted. For many reasons, mostly beyond our control, our purchase process was delayed, and it actually only completed 3 days ago.
Lauren Anthony, Stag's negotiator, was amazingly proactive at chasing everyone up and down the small chain that we were in. She kept up the pressure on solicitors who were slow and inept, and kept us up to date along the way. We found her very professional and competent throughout this otherwise very stressful experience. The company manage some land near my property and I have been trying to contact the solicitor looking after the land for 6 weeks now regarding some trees overhanging my property and neighbouring properties.He never replies to my emails and when I speak to him he promises to deal with and I don't hear from him!! Wow. I just had a stunning interaction with Stags Totnes as a potential buyer. Upon attending a second viewing of a property we were quite interested in we were met by the same agent we had viewed with previously. Firstly, she didn't recognize us and didn't realize it was a second viewing. Then, she proceeded to tell us that she had to "love us and leave us" shortly because she had another appointment. She had allotted only 30 mins for the viewing, despite it being a second viewing. Luckily the owners were home, so they were happy to let us continue the outdoor viewing after the agent left.
I had employed a buyers agent (unusual in the UK) and he had been having difficulty getting timely responses from Stags, so to try to get out in front of any further delays if we had any final questions, I asked the agent if she could please be more responsive to future requests, stating that we were indeed quite interested in the property.
She then launched into a defensive diatribe of how she was too busy and we should chase her if we didn't hear from her. because, as she stated, "her responsibility ended" after forwarding any questions to the owners. Then she had the audacity to tell me that "when you really want something, you have to be prepared to work hard for it"! She was actually telling me, that if I wanted to purchase a house with them, I had to be prepared to work hard for it! Stunning.
I am convinced that this agent hasn't a clue how to sell anything. If I was a seller I'd REALLY THINK TWICE about listing with this agent. They are not working for you. Unfortunately, they aren't working for me either, so now I'm left with a sour taste in my mouth and trying to decide if I should bother to continue to look seriously at any property listed with them.

Overall when I had to deal with Stags Totnes for lettings I found them ill mannerly and pretentious. There was one enthusiastic, helpful young chap there who gave me the time of day and was willing to chat about my requirements. Despite being a landlord and home owner myself I found the lettings staff very dismissive and unhelpful - nobody was willing to really listen to me courteously. It was like trying to get blood out of a stone, trying to get information on properties. Shame.

Helpful, well situated and easy access. Very nice properties around Totnes. Good for if you want a whole house or farm - they have possibly the best range in Totnes (South hams). Medium wait times on the phone, often (like most relters) they expect high deposits. With full financial checks that cost at your risk.

Phenomenal service from the team. I bought a house with Stags. Lauren Anthony dealt with my case, so she was the main one I communicated with (although I'm sure there were others helping behind the scenes.) She made a very stressful thing as stress free as possible. My conveyancers were rubbish but she made no issue of chasing up and making sure everything was sorted. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Hilary Hook is very personable, always gets back to you and was instrumental in progressing the purchase of our property.
The sale took almost 11 months from start to finish as the sale twice fell through . Exchange of contracts was proving problematic but Hilary facilitated by keeping to the task and liaising with all the parties in the chain.
Overall Hilary did an exceptional job and is a credit to Stags.

SHOCKINGLY POOR EXPERIENCE
We agreed a cash purchase of a property in South Devon and agreed to exchange within 3 weeks if the agent stopped marketing the property. 8 days later we arrived at the property to find that the 'For Sale' board was still up and the property was still being marketed on Rightmove and the agents own website despite having emailed and asking them to remove it. When we phoned and spoke to Linda, she screamed at us over the phone and said that 'she doubted we had the funds to complete the transaction'. We spoke to the manager James whilst we could hear Linda wailing in the background of the call, he made no apology nor did he attempt to get the board taken down. Instead the vendor had to ask a neighbour to remove the board and called 3 times to the agent to tell them to remove it from their website. There is something very unhelpful, rude and suspicious about an agent that behaves in this way: they are either extremely disorganised and incompetent or just a bunch of cowboys. We exchanged in 3 weeks as we had said we would despite the agent's unhelpfulness - we liaised directly with the owner throughout the course of the transaction and things went very smoothly. It is a great shame as we have a long standing and good relationship with Stags in Honiton and Bridport and feel that we are unlikely to use them again.

Superb service. As an applicant from out of the area, it was imperative I didn't waste any time travelling down to the west country viewing inappropriate properties. The advice and knowledge given by the Totnes staff relating to the properties they were selling was second to none. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Ignorant, rude staff. I have been messed about as a prospective tenant with Stags for over 3 years. They have allegedly added me to their mailing list although I have never received one mailing with suitable properties. I have queried this with them by email, over the telephone and in person over 10 times and have been constantly assured that they will contact me as soon as a suitable property becomes available. Last week after chasing them for the millionth time they emailed me to say they cannot recommend me as a tenant. I responded to ask why, they ignored me. I responded again to ask them to elaborate or provide reasons, they did to respond. I emailed them to ask for their formal complaints procedure as I believe they are discriminating against me on several grounds, they have not responded. Breaking every ARLA and NAEA rule in the book. I shall be taking this further.

An extremely upsetting experience .. I felt pushed and even when I explained I did not want to go into a bidding war they used me to push up the price for the vendor. I know they support the vendor but it just felt all wrong and one of their female staff was so rude to me twice. I know they represent the vendor but as a buyer you want to be treated with respect and feel that you are of value thats not the case at this office. Beware they don't care about the buyer only the vendor!!! SAD
