As buyers our experience with Westmount is poor. We have dealt with the team on two different transactions and the patterns are the same. Throughout we were met with deceit, dishonesty and arrogance. Originally we were dealing with Danny, later with Adrian - while we had a more positive experience with him, we never managed to build a relationship of trust. We hope that our experience can serve as a warning to future buyers and sellers.
A few examples of inappropriate dealings have come up:
1, phantom offers were repeatedly mentioned (especially by Danny) - later we learnt from our sellers that these never existed
2, Arranging a viewing was tricky, phone calls were not returned. On our viewings the team was unprepared about the properties on offer. Second viewings were refused - only managed these with weeks-long delays.
3, were asked to complete and then let the previous owners stay in the house for some time. Also were asked not to tell our solicitors about this small arrangement, as the team knew that it is a red flag that would never go through with a solicitor. When confronted, we were simply suggested: "well, everyone does that".
4, false reassurances about chains/seller's situation (all properties were advertised with a seller who "have already found another property that is chain free/is in a completed chain" - these statements later were found to be untrue on multiple occasions).
5, Repeatedly hid information about delays up the chain - at one point it meant that we were only notified of a 3 week delay the day before our completion date (later we found out the team was advised about this delay months before).
Unfortunately, our experience does not seem unique - within our neighbourhood our friends had similar experience with the team.

The tenants below me rent via Westmount. The tenants thought they could run a wire across my front door step and this agency agreed with them. Clearly don’t know what the legalities are because the two joint leaseholders asked for it be changed when I said it was in the way and put there without my permission. If anyone thinks this image is ok I’d be shocked. The tennants and Westmount were adamant it could stay like that. I had to waste my time calling the leaseholders to get it changed - who agreed this is not sustainable for the long term. The staff at Westmount were rude and if I were to let my property out I wouldn’t use them.

Rob was really helpful throughout my sale, dealing with some pretty unreasonable buyers and slow solicitors. It was great to have him in my corner and working to get things sorted. He also didn't talk down to me like a lot of agents do, so I appreciated that. I got estimates from a few other places in the area and Westmount had the best combination of low fees, sensible pricing and good service. Would definitely recommend.

We 'accidently' bought a property through Westmount Estates. We weren't actively looking, we knew we wanted to move and had the funds to do so, but given the market and the interest rates we didn't expect to be successful in still finding the 'right' property for us.
Anyway, flash forward to meeting Robert in June - one viewing later and we were completely sold! Robert was really, really knowledgable on the house and could answer all of our questions and it was on the one road in the area we really wanted to be.
Robert was brilliant with keeping us up to date throughout the entire process, really quick to respond and answered all of our questions. I think it helped that the vendor's were so nice, also!
When our solicitors were ignoring us, Robert chased on our behalf, when we had questions that our solicitor wouldn't answer, Robert found them for us. Buying a house is obviously not an every day thing, and Robert knew that and helped point us in the right direction of 'what's next' when we needed it. We have exchanged now, so completion is soon, but I think the entire process would take 10 years longer if it wasn't for his (and in his absence on holiday, the teams) proactiveness.
It's been a really good experience. If I ever need an estate agent (hopefully not!!), we wouldn't hesitate to go through Robert and the team at Westmount.

We used Westmount Estates for the sale of our house and my Mums house. We dealt mostly with Danny, sometimes Adrian. This applies to them both. We found them to be so helpful, supportive, friendly and excellent at keeping us up to date with things. They were completely on the ball with everything, constantly chasing and keeping on top of everything. We were so impressed with the service, they took the pain out of dealing with solicitors and helped us to keep things moving all the time. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
