I don’t know where to begin with how horrific the service has been. It has been nothing but stress. AVOID THIS ESTATE AGENTS AT ALL COSTS!
- Couldn’t even list the property details correct (basics such as number of bedrooms, street name). When I complained about this, the response was that it wasn’t the girls problem and to complain to someone else?
- Getting a response to emails is impossible. When I complained I was told it was due to annual leave (pathetic excuse - annual leave for 6 weeks with no out of office email put on? More like laziness and incompetence).
- They don’t tell you at the time of listing your property you are tied with them for 20 weeks. I formally complained regarding the contract Ts and Cs not being met with a request to leave our contract early and head office didn’t want to know! Nothing improved whatsoever.
- Finally coming to the end of my 20 week contract and I gave my ‘28 days notice’ to remove from rightmove and they did it immediately. Opposed to waiting 28 days, what’s the point in this policy if I ask you to leave my property on for 28 days and you ignore me and do it instantly?
- when I rang up to request to withdraw my property the young girl on the phone was rude. She wasn’t listening to a word I said so I rang again to ask her to send me something in writing to provide more assurance. She didn’t listen to my house number, told me my house had sold STC (obviously wrong), didn’t bother saying goodbye and hung up. Shocking customer service.
In response to your other 1* reviews, you reply saying if we want to discuss further to contact you. What’s the point? I’ve done it plenty of times and your service remains diabolical. I don’t want to publicly name and shame but private complaints don’t work.
If you want to sell your house in Barnsley, use anyone but these guys.

When I've called I've usually been put through to Joe - the guy must have been sick of hearing my voice with all the questions etc. But he's been so patient and helpful. Just been emailed to say 'congratulations, the house is yours'. Absolutely buzzing. Thanks Joe

Karen was fantastic with us she was there every step of the way when we were selling our house. We had never sold a property previously and we were overwhelmed with the paperwork, Karen just told us to bring everything in to the office and she would guide us through it, thank you so much

If I could give no stars I would. This estate agent encouraged and enabled gazumping. Karen took an offer off me and it was accepted and she encouraged me to instruct my solicitor after trying to sell me their solicitors. Days later she rang me to say the other estate agent it was also up with, have an offer on that house and she wants best and final offers and she asked me to increase our offer. I said I wasn't going to offer more our offer was accepted, and this is wrong, plus I told her what I thought of this being so unethical. She then emailed asking me to call her back on the day of my father in law's funeral, which she knew was that day and told me when I called we'd been outbid. I then rang the other estate agent the next day as though I was interested in the house and finally outright asked when he was going to arrange a viewing, and I was told that they had no offer on the house, I let them know exactly what Karen had said about them. Had we instructed our solicitor as she wanted we would have been massively out of pocket. William H Brown lie and are extremely unethical AVOID!
Ps In reply to your reply there is no resolution possible. You the estate agent enabled us to be gazumped. The house is marked as sold subject to contract on your listing and not on the other estate agents listing further proving you lied.

We had bad experience with a previous estate agent and then when I contacted william h brown they came out to value my house and I can't praise them enough, Olivia was absolutely brilliant! Even came out one day when I finished work at 6 for us to sign everything. We then put our house up for sale with william h brown and it sold within 6 days! Highly recommend william h brown 1000% Olivia and Joe was absolutely brilliant! Friendly and helpful ???? x
