And within a month of being looked after by Kyle Harvey at William H Brown, we were able to secure an offer and be Sold STC!

The worse experience of trying to sell our house and customer service.
The lack of professionalism and communication from William H Brown Rotherham has been appalling. The trust was broken and I wouldn’t recommend.
I previously used William H Brown in Barnsley to sell our last house and their service was outstanding nothing was ever too much as for Rotherham it was the opposite.
When we got an offer on our house we was advised not to lose the buyers as they were first time buyers with a mortgage in principle and proceedable. Turns out they were far from this. We accepted an offer on 01/03/24 and we was told they were going in to their branch 08/03/24 we went to view a property on 09/03/24 we contacted the branch to make sure everything was looking ok before we put an offer in on the purchase and we was reassured this was the case and the memorandum of sale would be released the following week. We had pressure from our purchase as the week went on and they also tried to find out what was going on by contacting William H Brown it wasn’t until this call that she found that they hadn’t got everything and they hadn’t in fact gone with William H Brown’s mortgage team. We never had a straight answer as to what was going on with the buyers until the final moments when we gave a deadline. If the complications of the buyers were relayed to us sooner we wouldn’t have put so much time and effort into this.
I did make a complaint and the complaints team passed over to the area manager who of course went in full favour of the branch which is fine that was always going to happen we are not the only ones who had a similar experience as I received someone else’s complaint response to start with and the events were very similar to ours and the response was also favouring the branch.
My best advice would be save your time and go somewhere else. Pay someone who deserves the commission because William H Brown Rotherham certainly don’t unless your getting mega interest and your making them money quick they are not interested in helping you or communicating and they certainly don’t know how to tell the truth they will twist it when you put in a complaint to make sure they look like they did everything they could when the truth is they haven’t.
I requested a second look at our complaint to which obviously again they favoured them. Saying William H Brown did every thing they could BS at its finest because due to us having to hold up our 28 day notice we took a viewing on 06/04/2024 which didn’t turn up when my husband called William H Brown they said they would call the people who were viewing to see where they was and again they never contacted us back. I then get a phone call on 08/04/2024 to say they have left a voicemail for feedback to which I responded that they didn’t turn up and explained what happened Saturday that we wasn’t contacted back and she didn’t even know that they hadn’t turned up. Communication at its finest. Avoid Avoid Avoid.
In response to William H Brown did you not read I already went through the process and you lied your way out.

ANOTHER UPDATE:
I moved out of the property on 30 January. I was messed about a huge amount regarding my deposit. I've still not got it back despite handing the house back in a much better condition. 2 months is a ridiculous amount of time for me to be waiting for a deposit, especially considering how much letting agencies ask for as a deposit these days.
Avoid this business. They'll gaslight you, give you misinformation, call you names, not do their job and then keep your money. No rented house is worth this amount of stress.
UPDATE:
Awful letting agency, really unhelpful and unfriendly. After spending a year in a property rented through them none of the long list of issues that were present at move in were ever resolved without so much as an apology. And now it's came to leaving I'm struggling to get my deposit back because they don't even seem to know how their own processes work.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this organisation all together.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
All super helpful and friendly until we moved in.
The house was left in an awful state, which meant day 1 of move in was spent cleaning. The garden was left full of rubbish, rubble, glass and screws and 2 months later, and I'm still asking weekly when this is going to get removed so the kids can safely play in the garden. When I first reported this, their response to this was "there is no glass in the garden", the absolute cheek of being called a liar by a so-called professional is disgusting.
I've sent a job list to them regularly and asked for updates, and I'm always told that they're waiting for the landlord to get back. We've got gaps between the kitchen units and the wall where food could fall and attract critters, we've got door handles missing from doors, we regularly fall over carpet that hasn't been fitted to the floor.
We love this house and want to be here long term but the letting agency won't work with us to get it upto a decent standard and it's just so frustrating!
Don't rent from here with any promises that they'll work with you to solve things, they won't.
Also, we were forced to sign a contract for the house that started 14 days before we were told we could move in. This has now left us having to pay bills for the time that the gas/electricity was used by the builders and decorators that left the house in such a mess.
Mega avoid.

I called about viewing a property and was told it had been removed from the market, as the owner no longer wanted to sell, which is fair enough!
However, a week later, it is still being advertised. So, why do you not remove the listing? Or, if it is still for sale, why not call me and inform me as I asked you to do?
Leaving properties for sale, when they are not, is so annoying to house hunters. This practice needs resolving!

AVOID at all costs! What can I say shocking service and extremely rude they do not stay in touch throughout the selling process even though they promised it and never call you back when you ring in to speak to a certain person and even though you are paying them to sell your property there interest is in the buyers and they work on the buyers interests only.
They have taken money from us that wasn’t in their quote and now after numerous requests still haven’t sent it I am now reporting to the ombudsman choose a different estate agent or you will regret it!!!

I have been dealing with this estate agent on and off since 2017 but this is the first time I dealt with the residential letting side of the business. My main contacts were Isla and Beverley, although I have dealt with most of the staff along the way for phone messages etc. In general the staff are good but Isla and Beverley are beyond that. They are very professional and helpful. My place was let within 2 weeks from them taking instructions to let. They made the whole process so easy and communicated with me throughout with updates. As first time buyers we found the house we wanted through William H Brown and had Maeeb Bashir as mortgage advisor. Throughout all this stressful time, he was brilliant and prompt to answer any doubts and concerns I might have.

The mortgage advisor/consultant Maeeb Bashir was brilliant. Bash really took the time to answer all of our questions about the mortgage process and even what we could expect for the process with solicitors. We had 2 in-person meetings, the initial one around 2 hours where all of our questions were answered and the whole process explained and options for mortgages shown with no commitment needed at the time. The other meeting was our confirmation and submittal of our mortgage application. Bash was available 24/7 via email and was always quick to reply even for small queries. Bash was also easy to reach over the phone and has been excellent with supporting us around our working hours. Even though the house we found to buy wasn't through William H Brown but another vendor, Bash massively helped us feel secure in our purchase of the property, assisting with details of the valuation and that we were getting a fair deal.

I was a first time buyer with no idea what to do but Maeeb Bashir(Bash) was very good at explaining everything to me and ran through the whole process. Although the first meeting took 2hours it was massively worth it. Bash ran through everything and gave me the maximum id be spending per month ontop of the mortgage and whether id be able to afford it.
Throught out the whole process Bash was always keeping me updated whether by email or on the phone. Everything went through quickly and Bash made sure to chase everything for us constantly so he could update us. Highly recommed using these.
They also signed me up to their alerts so when a house came up that was in our specification they’d email and ring me to set up a house viewing.

Waited 3 months to receive a rental deposit back and still not received it. Waiting for call backs which never happen. Required a permit when renting and had to raise contract breach consequences before it was sorted. All round unimpressed.
Further update: despite offering to get in touch.to assist resolving the issue via the response here I had one correspondence and then they proceeded to ignore all further communication. Unfortunately the response is to make them look professional in the public eye. Nothing more.

Other offices of the company are prompt and efficient but the Rotherham branch appears to be entirely run by young people with little or no experience. They were slow and did not keep me informed. They were incapable of organising anything outside the very basic.
They have now been sitting on my money for over a week and seem totally unconcerned that I've had to hand over the keys of a house to a new person when I've not seen a penny of the money that they say they've received. USE A DIFFERENT BRANCH !!

I encountered the most ignorant, ill mannered person it has ever been my displeasure to speak to. Having since spoken to customer services, it appears it is normal for W H Brown to receive court summons for unpaid invoices. Deal with this company at your peril. I highly recommend avoiding them.

Just wanted to put this feedback here or else I don’t think they would be interested in listening. Had made an inquiry for a prop in Rotherham area. Got a call today during day time to check in my status and availability from viewing from a female agent from the Rotherham office. I was still working and was on work call but still answered all her queries. She started asking me to do an appt. to get an Aip sorted or look out for rate comparisons with their internal advisor and I had politely declined but she just kept rambling without listening to me. Even after I told her I work for mortgages and at work right now.she won’t stop doing her sales pitch. At which point I had to bluntly stop her and remind her the main purpose of the contact is to get me a viewing booked not to sell me mortgage. At which point she got angry and upset and told me “she didn’t like being spoken to like this” and hung up.
when I called back in my break to give a feedback another female agent answered and was worse than the first woman I spoke to, she was all for her colleague and even said that she was next to her listening to the agent talk to me (obviously she hasn’t heard my end of the conversation) but she was convinced I as a customer was rude and managed to upset her colleague!
And has the audacity to ask me “why I had called them again just to repeat my discussion with her colleague”. And If I’m not interested they can stop the viewing process. I had simply called to check if they got a reply from the vendor. But her attitude was a disappointment, they both are a disaster.
Lost business and a potential customer. These are the kind of agents (wish I had taken there names on the calls) who are threat not only to the business they work for but even the sellers who rely on them to get potential buyers. Pathetic service ! Wish could give them negative stars !

So I mainly dealt with kenna, she was instantly so friendly, polite, professional and at the same so down to earth, and after just a couple of phonecalls almost felt like talking to a friend, which I'm sure makes the general public very at ease as it did me! All the time I dealt with William H Brown she remained very professional, reliable, calling back every single time she said she would (which I've found in the past very uncommon with estate agents!) I then had a couple of shorter phonecalls with jess, who was as equally friendly, polite, professional and attentive. A little later down the line, (to cut it short) Some unorganisation at the Sheffield branch (with not the friendliest and most helpful nature, plus terrible communication) resulted in a good chance I could have missed out on the property I really wanted. I called Rotherham to see if they could help as they'd been so good. I explained the problem to kenna, and she went out of her way to help me, and came personally that same afternoon to give me a viewing of the property I loved, resulting in me able to get it, which I doubt very much wouldn't have happened without her! Really, really good service, professional, attentive, polite and such genuinely friendly girls, thank you!!

I've recently been looking for properties and have found a few houses for sale on their site. I've called the agent to view some properties that I was interested. Jessica was the office staff I've spoke to at first she was willing to help us to find properties that we interested and when it came to the day we arranged viewing the property. She referred us to mortgage advisor which we not interested. She then refused us to view the properties and start being very rude to us. She said "What's the point that you view the property but you cannot afford it?!" She sound really angry! I was shock to hear she said that! Well, we got to view the property first before we buy did we? Looks like she want benefit or commission from us.
Three weeks later. We have applied for agreement principal then I phoned the agent again. I've spoken to Jessica that we wanted to view the property in St Mary's View and we already qualify for mortgage loans then she said that house has been sold! I went to look that property to find out whether if is true or not? I let my uncle went into the office. My uncle said that property is still on sale. I was very disappointed that she was telling lies. This is your company and she should be treating every customer a respect. No matter what their races is. She has very bad manners, rude and lack of customer service skills and unprofessional the way she telling lies.

At the start of the sale of my house everything was great good efficient service. As the sale progressed the property was serverley over priced and had to be reduced significantly, this was disappointing.
Once sale was completed after care was very poor, as I am still waiting for a refund of £240 6 weeks later, and will have to wait a further 4 weeks for it.
Very poor to say the least.

Currently have my house listed with theses and on initial contact the sales pitch was fantastic, however since then it’s been poor experience.
Basics like being asked to be informed when pictures are to be taken so I can have the Gardner visit etc wasn’t done. Randomly being told by other individuals about viewings I wasn’t aware of etc. The member of Staff I have been in contact with (Jess) is by far the best member they have. Avoid where possible.

As a young first time buyer trying to find a property Rotherham i contacted WH BROWN the telephone call i had initially was great and the lady was very helpful and friendly , I then went into the branch last Friday and sat with a girl called Jesse who took all my information and arranged me a viewing on a house that wasn't even listed on the market yet, She also offered me a mortgage appointment which we are booked in for, I have found other agents in Rotherham not to be as welcoming or supportive and alot of the time the houses recommended do not meet what i am looking for i have also found i get many calls which are pestering i havent experienced that with Jesse or the lady who showed us around, Buying your first house can be pretty scary so thank you.

My experience was great. Amber Middleton was excellent with her service and was very friendly and easy to approach. Didn't get the other girls name that I dealt with but she was the same. W.H. Brown of Rotherham took over the management of my property, which had been problematically tenanted and handled by a different agent (I live abroad, therefore I could not carry out the management myself). My new agents supervised the renovation of the property to my full satisfaction (apart, I am afraid, from their choice of a firm of electricians who turned out to be of questionable professionality).
The sale of the property was handled very efficiently by the sales staff of the agency, and I am particularly grateful to Ms Jesse Sapey, who was always there to answer questions and deal with tricky details.

Buyer Beware! Last and final bids had to be in by 5.30 pm on the Friday. On the Saturday informed my bid had been successful. Hooray! Spent the weekend pulling funds together. Four days later, informed the other bidder had increased his/her ‘last and final’ bid and the owner had now gone for the increased offer!! Did I want to increase my ‘last and final’ bid? Not likely. What a joke: except I’m not laughing. Lost property and lost money disturbing long term investments.

Absolutely the most unprofessional outfit I've ever come across. No regard for people's life, no compassion or apologies for the lack of communication and poor customer service on an epic level.
They lied about the chain we were in , did not attempt to communicate with the chain although they were selling 2 of the houses at this branch . They totally passed the blame on solicitors . We ended up losing our home and the chain fell apart due to no one taking ownership of the chain .
The sales progressor lacked knowledge and interest, totally avoided calls and emails.
We were left homeless, stressed and heartbroken . Shame on WH Brown Rotherham.
1 star is 10 too many!!
