I’ve been dealing with William H. Brown for nearly 20 years now—mainly through the Mildenhall and Brandon branches. To be completely honest, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. There were times when communication and coordination were a bit challenging, and it sometimes felt like a tough business exchange. That said, in the end, issues always got resolved, and the service overall has been quite good over the years.
Recently, I needed to rent out a property in Thetford, and for the first time, I worked with the Thetford branch. I was honestly expecting the usual back-and-forth, but I was completely wrong. From the very beginning, Lauren and Aaron were simply outstanding.

AWFUL AND INCOMPETENT !!!They ignored the features of our house (since sold through Lawson's) and 'wrote' a generic description seemingly lifted straight from Hopkins Homes' (the builder) literature. When I complained of this slap-dash, unprofessional behaviour they immediately dropped me and refused to sell our house! Nice....
And then a year after we moved from the property an idiot in their employ rang us up to enquire if we'd like to use their services (No thanks. Never) to sell the house from which we'd moved! He'd clearly performed ZERO research before calling me! A rudimentary search on Zoopla would've shown when it'd been sold!!
To compound this, today, ( over three years after we moved) they AGAIN called me up to check on the sale of this property!!!!! Unbelievable !! Do these EA's never use Zoopla? Furthermore had they the wherewithal to read this Google review they wouldn't have ever contemplated ringing me. Such egregious incompetence!
It now three years since I moved yet they're STILL calling me to check how my property search is going!! They had assured me that I'd been removed from their call list. Beyond incompetent!!!!
I've just spoken to the manager whose tone was so unapologetic and arrogant that I was compelled to terminate the call by putting down the phone.
I will formally complain to their Head Office.

As a serial renter, I have seen a lot of houses and dealt with a lot of estate agents and agencies. Ellie from William H Brown has been one of the best so far. She didn’t suffer from any of the over-exaggerated enthusiasm and hyperbole that some agents exhibit, instead conveying a professional and courteous attitude in all of my interactions with her. If unsure of the answer to my questions, she was quick to contact the necessary people (landlord, etc.) to find out and get back to me either through email or by phone. The process for checking in to the property was seamless and smooth, and most importantly was well-communicated to me at every step of the way. Despite the covid-19 pandemic where most things are a little slow and uncertain, William H Brown were quick with our reference checks and very efficient sending the necessary paperwork. I would definitely recommend these guys and would certainly be happy to rent through them again.

Viewing our chosen property on a weekend meant that we were unable to meet the team at William H Brown's Thetford office. Therefore all our communications have been by phone and electronically. Being of the senior generation my wife and myself are not up to date with the latest technology and therefore Daryl Manning had to guide us through all the required steps. In this he has been extremely patient and professional . I would recommend any potential client to use this company.

It was my mother in-law's home that was up for sale, I was intrigued to see how William H Brown fared on the Get Agent web site.
The house went on the market in January and was only had 2 viewings before we went into lockdown at the end of March. We had called numerous times to ask for advice on promoting the sale but was often fobbed off and they just suggested lowering the price.
When the agents came around or I did speak to someone they seemed more interested in telling me gossip about my neighbours home that they had on the market with the same agency.... so much for GDPR!
Long and short I found this company hard work and unreliable. As soon as the contract came to an end I changed to another company and the property was under offer within 3 weeks of being on the market.
I can appreciate part of the contract went through lockdown however, William H Brown shut the doors completely at the Thetfor branch and were completely unreachable they even opened a week later than guidance allowed at that branch. Through lockdown I was approached by 2 other companies asking to have the chance to see the house. I liaised with one company and once out of contact I switched agent. Best decision I made.

Sometimes at 8:20 I already had a reply from day before. Always kept us up to date with all the maters. And if you need a mortgage adviser as well, please book an appointment with the amazing Heidi! Heidi is a lovely lady, as well, that will answer all of your questions, do all the simulations relevant to you and advise you in terms of insurances and about the importance of doing your Will as well.

Well Danny and Darryl have been utterly amazing with their customer service and patience. After instructing them to sell our cottage just before Christmas,we didn't expect a sale for a while....but they planned an open house and luckily 7 offers for our asking price came of this. Absolutely worthless letting agents. Take forever to get back with you, they don’t have any answers for you when they do, and most of the work completed is done incorrectly. The only time I’ve ever had decent customer service was when someone from another branch came in to assist. Too bad the base doesn’t allow blacklisting anymore-because the Thetford branch needs to be.
