Luckily for me, Suzanne and Steve tried all their best, patience and professional to push for a better result until completion of my property. From the day the sale of my property was agreed with the buyer, Suzanne was on the case always keeping me updated with both our solicitors and the buyers solicitors. Whilst the process took very longer than expected she acted very patiently and I would say Suzanne an asset to Robert Williams Estate Agents. The sales team at Robert Williams are definitely very knowledgeable and experienced. Thank you! Highly recommend!
31st Dec 2025 (25 weeks ago)D R Kivell, in our experience, perform very well. We have been involved with them on two fairly significant transactions, and have also recommended them to friends. On each occasion, the outcome has been significantly more successful than major, well known, prestigious firms, which seemed surprising? Their response times are far quicker than the major firms, too. I'm fairly cynical about estate agents in general, as they tend to make promises and predictions that they don't then actually achieve - but I can honestly say that D R Kivell, each time, have achieved what they promised, and in good time! David Kivell seems very professional - I'm from a legal and commercial property background, and I rather grilled him about whether his predictions were achievable, and he stuck to his guns, and achieved exactly what he'd said. They seem good at valuations, too. Peter Palmer seems more like a wise, experienced farmer, and therefore very friendly and helpful. And he's a good photographer. Geoff Lupton seems to be the very helpful and efficient guy who keeps everything on track. Based on our own experiences, I've formed a very high opinion of them.

20th Jun 2025 (1 year ago)We’ve had our two flats in Torquay managed by Henrietta Klimkova at Haart since we relocated to the UAE in 2017. Although we faced some financial challenges along the way, Henrietta consistently delivered excellent support and maintained meticulous records. When the time came to sell in June 2025, her attention to detail and compliance with UK property management standards made the entire process significantly smoother. I’ll admit I used to question the fees—particularly for handling the property tax returns—but in hindsight, it was money well spent. I highly recommend their services, especially if you’re based overseas and need a reliable property manager. Even if it feels costly at first, trust me: when it comes time to sell, you’ll be grateful for the structure, documentation, and peace of mind they provide. Trying to manage it all yourself just to save a small amount isn’t worth the stress.

Wainwrights were great and when we found our perfect property they helped everything run so smoothly. A big thank you for all their advice and assistance. Lovely people.

Whether sharing his latest golfing or family anecdotes or diving into the nitty-gritty of contracts and small print, James has a gift for putting people at ease while ensuring clarity and precision. From our experience, one of the biggest stumbling blocks in negotiations is when parties are not fully aligned before a conversation takes place. James acts as the backdrop and container for these discussions, making sure that everyone is brought onto the same page. He keeps the conversation on track with seemingly little effort, and his ability to read situations and explain things clearly is invaluable. James’s approach is solution-focused, pragmatic, and fair. If he doesn’t immediately know the answer, he finds out quickly and comes straight back to you. What’s particularly impressive is his ethos: he seems to recognise that if one party loses, everyone does — so he works creatively to ensure the outcome benefits all sides. 13th May 2022 (4 years ago)I first met Brett a couple of years ago when looking into the student market. I didn't do anything at that time. It was a pleasure to meet Brett again in July 2021 when viewing another property, and subsequently other properties. Brett is generous with his time, doesn't rush you, and tells you the facts as he sees them. I feel he gives his views and advice in a very straightforward manner which is what you want as a buyer or a seller. I would have no hesitation in recommending Brett for his professionalism, friendliness and someone to go to for advice. I have now met the Lettings side of Star and found them extremely helpful as well.
22nd Mar 2023 (3 years ago)I had a very, very disappointing experience with Star Lettings back in the summer of 2021 – I'd been served with a section 21”no fault eviction” due to an issue with mold in the bathroom floor (which it transpired was caused by a “long term leak under the bath”) I still owe money to southwest water because of this. I'd reported the issue with the moldy bathroom floor to Star Lettings some two years previously. This notice to vacate was on hold throughout lock down due to Government legislation but didn't do much for my peace of mind. In my experience it seemed that the landlord always came first and I lost half my deposit even when I'd cleaned the house as requested though it was difficult given the underlying mold issue that should have been addressed when I raised two years previously. I was also told that the flat would be completely renovated as the landlord planned to turn the place into an AirB&B (which I believe has happened) so I left the place completely empty with a clean up as best as I could (thinking I wouldn't overly invest too much time in it, given the renovation would be going ahead anyway) After moving I contacted Star Lettings about my deposit but Star Lettings tried to withhold my entire deposit, in the end I managed to get back half of this, but not without a struggle. I needed the money as it certainly wasn't easy finding a new flat immediately post lock down

23rd Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Angela was very relaxed through the entire letting process in a refreshing down to earth manner on a unit I rented. Deposit returned in full and on time with no drama. If all agents were like her it would make life much less stressful. 100% recommended.
