We used Liam from Burchell Edwards to help with the process of buying our first home. We had spoken to other mortgage advisors but found things were explained in such a complicated way that me and my partner left feeling exhausted from all the confusing information explained to us.
When we spoke to Liam, he could see we were first time buyers and found things complicated to understand. Liam explained everything and things made much more sense which really helped with the buying process. Liam found us a great mortgage with a really competitive rate compared to others.
Even though the process of buying our house took much longer than we would have liked (this was not Liam or Burhcell Edwards fault), Liam would chase things up with other parties and did everything he could to make the process be as quick as possible.

What an absolute joke outfit terrible service no follow up call as promised, wrong details/description of our property in the summary these are the most unprofessional estate agents I have ever come across!!! They were a problem from the very beginning. Every time I had to call the office, somebody different would answer and there would be no record of what was going on, rude people no apologies from them on not calling back to me makes me think how this business still survives.
I couldn't be happier with the service we received from Oliver at William H Brown in helping us with the remortgaging of our home - it is the first time we had done this and felt totally comfortable throughout the process. We were kept informed the entire time and he always made himself free to speak to us or clarify things along the way. Would definitely recommend Oliver and William H Brown.
Worst estate agents I have ever dealt with and I have 15 years of rental experience. They are rude and so inflexible, I allmost pulled out of the deal.Only the fact that I had already paid them money kept me in. However, I can't wait to get away from them and take my money elsewhere. Do not use them, they do not know the meaning of the word customer service. Once they take your money, it seems to me they stop caring. If I treated my customers this way, I would be out of a job already. And it seems I am not the only one to feel this way, judging from the other reviews I have seen in various places.

We have sold two houses in the space of one year with Smart move,and in both cases received a very efficient professional service, the first property was my father's bungalow and the second was our house, which sold in just four days, and they achieved the full asking price for us.
David is very professional and friendly, and discusses fully the most realistic asking price in the current market.
After the sale was confirmed , I was in contact with Nicola, Katie and Alex, who were always very polite, friendly and professional.
The only downside, was that they recommended to use JC Lawyers, and as our buyer was using the Ripley office, we were given the Ashbourne office, unfortunately they were very inefficient, and because of this, our confirmation of exchange of contracts was only one day before completion, hence a very stressful time, which was totally unnecessary.

Whitegates put our house on the market on Friday 29 January 2016 and sold it on the Monday 1 February 2016 for full asking price and we moved into our new home on Wednesday 30 March 2016. We couldn't wish for a better Estate Agents, they are best in Ilkeston. Carl, Director who came to value our house is lovely, honest and professional and ladies in the office Gemma and Dawn were very helpful and communicated every step of the way. We are so happy and have more space as a family of 4, we no longer tripping over each other! It was the best decision ever made selling our house with Whitegates.
Useless cowboys. Cost my parents thousands when they got their house back from the awful tenants they filled it with. Avoid at all costs.
Watson have been fantastic, we had viewing from day one and sold our house in 3 days, we had complications with our buyer who eventually pulled out but Lucy handled the whole situation fantastically and professionally, and we resold our house in 3 days. We’ve dealt with big chain estate agents previous who are very expensive and treat customers as nothing more than commission. A small family run businesses always appreciate each customer, and you definitely get that with Watson’s on top of a great price. Would highly recommend!!
Do you really want to work with an estate agent that could possibly knock thousands off your house or you lose a purchase, because they possibly forget to tell buyers of deadlines?
Watsons neglected to tell me the final deadline for offers on a property. When I called to raise my offer I was told repeatedly that the deadline would have been made very clear to me, at no point did they even consider I was telling the truth. I was made to feel and treated like I was being dishonest. If I had left it at that I would not have been able to submit a final offer. Only after I had made a formal complaint was my final offer supposedly passed to the vendor. The communication from Watson’s has been littered with inaccuracies throughout the whole process. From the communication Watsons to myself I cannot be confident that the information supplied is accurate.
But according to Watsons response I have been treated fairly.
So treating someone fairly is: making them feel like and treated like they are being dishonest, only getting to submit a final offer after a formal complaint.
Then told that it was just a miscommunication and they can understand why I feel I have been treated unfairly, implying that they treated me fairly and the it’s my feelings that are at fault..
The sad thing is most of these facts could have easily been checked easily. As something as critical as a deadline for final offers, and Watsons rely on someone remembering to tell you. I truly feel for anyone who have to deal with these people.
