I paid £560 deposit and a change to the situation has put a stop to my plans for the property to let, with 7 weeks still before the property is available and not one reference carried out or authorised no admin work carried out by the agency no contracts signed no terms and conditions explained to me and no one telling me to refer to any other terms and conditions even though referring to a website is actually a dutiable medium and not something that cannot change, they will not refund me my deposit. There is no loss to the company on my behalf.
I have basically transferred them £560 for free and they think they have the right to keep it for doing nothing and not being transparent to their customers. Disgusting! I have received legal advice and they have no right so I will make sure this company is seen in true light of there customer service in the mean time
I bought my house from Ben some years ago and we are now looking to move again I will not use anybody else to sell my house. Always a fantastic service and a very approachable young man. I could not recommend him enough to anyone looking for the right agent to sell their house.
We had a multiple viewing on a Saturday, 15 mins each ,and was told offers had to be in by the following Monday. Late morning on Monday i telephoned the office and enquired if there had been any other offers and was told only one. I asked how we would proceed and told by the sales person that I did not to get into a bidding war situation. I was assured that was not how we operate , each of you will be given an opportunity to bid twice and the final bid will be final and have to be in by 16.00 on that day (Mon). I was told that my second bid was the highest and the deadline past. The following day I telephone to ask for a longer viewing and if possible could we go back later that day. Later that morning (Tuesday) I got a telephone call from the Sales person informing me that a higher bid had come in that morning.
I said how could a higher bid come through when the deadline closed yesterday at 16.00. She said I am under instruction from my boss (Ben Shaw) to ask you if you want to increase your offer. I said this is a bidding war which you assured me you did not operate this type of negotiation.
Needless to say I did not increase my second and final offer and I will not do busines with this company in the future.
We sold through Morgan Alexander last year and I have to say Westley and the team were amazing from start to finish! They honestly made us realise that not all estate agents are out for themselves. The process of a chain can be an emotional rollercoaster and at every bump and turn the team quickly found solutions to every problem and we felt reassured that all would be well, which it was and we couldn't be happier with how things turned out! I recently sold my flat and bought a new property through Morgan Alexander and I have to say that my experience with them was impeccable.
I’ve used other estate agents in the past and have never received quite the level of service as I have with Westley and the team.
I found them to be very proactive and always kept me updated. I would definitely recommend using Morgan Alexander if you are based in or around Hertford!
I used William H Brown when purchasing my first home with my partner. I can honestly say they were absolutely fantastic! Being first time buyers, the process was very stressful and nerve racking but they were very efficient and helped us from start to finish. Definitely will be using them when we come to sell!
The above mentioned lady is a staff employee of William H Brown of whom worked in this branch but now works elsewhere. This is what gives Estate Agents bad names... and Jonathan G Ross is also has connections with William H Brown. Horrible time dealing with them on the sale of my property, would never use ever again!!!!!! 1 STAR.
Consistent, reliable advice from start to finish. Staff at Shepherds were both friendly and helpful, keeping us informed in what was a tricky chain. We would definitely return to Shepherds again for any future house moves.

We chose to use Shepherds based on the fact they have a strong record of good customer service and a dedicated sales progressor. Given that we were relocating at a difficult time it was important to choose the right agent. We have no regrets. The service from all staff was really good from the marketing, sale negotiation, through to the sales progression and after care. The sale took longer than we would have liked to go through due to issues below us in the chain, but, ultimately the sale remained on track and reached a successful conclusion at the first time of asking!
