During our house move, we dealt with a few estate agents and by far White & Sons Dorking was the nicest to deal with. They were friendly, kept in touch and helped our queries through the process. In particular Grace was a delight to deal with but they were all great. Would highly recommend... Read more

My partner and I had an extremely poor experience attempting to buy a property listed with White and Sons. When we originally viewed the property White and Sons did not call us to gather feedback and we did not hear from them until we called ourselves to make an offer. We were told that our offer was formally accepted only to be told a few days later that the offer had actually not been accepted. Once we had a higher offer accepted, the process was extremely slow with no effort made on White and Sons part to make contact with the vendor who seemed unresponsive to solicitor queries. As the sale progressed and we received notice of which items the vendor was taking and leaving, we were notified that a large integrated item White and Sons had explicitly told us would definitely be included in the sale, was being removed by the vendor. As we predicted, the sale eventually fell through, we were notified through our solicitor and six months on have still never had any communication from White and Sons to explain why the sale fell through or to offer their services in helping us search for another house. Luckily, we had a completely different experience with another local estate agents and are extremely happy in our new home.... Read more

I have been trying to arrange a viewing for one of the property they are currently advertising and so far it has taken 3 days with no response to my email/phone calls. I have rang the office a few times over the last 3 days and have been told that I will be contacted by one of their team shortly but I have not received a single call back. NOT IMPRESSED.... Very prompt flexible service from Stuart when visiting the property, Stuart was also very understanding, respectful and empathetic towards us as it was our childhood family home we were placing on the market. They suggested and arranged a viewing day giving us some feedback from all who attended paying particular attention to being mindful of our feelings where feedback was maybe not so good! An offer followed and then Karen made regular telephone calls and follow up emails during all stages of the sale, she was always very friendly polite and informative throughout the process. Thank you for your professional but personal service!... Read more

Cannot recommend James and his team highly enough. Polite, friendly and down to earth, the guys at Taylor Robinson seem genuinely committed to helping you find the right property without any salesman facade or pressure. We had some bad experiences with other estate agents during the search for our property and when we came across James at Taylor Robinson it was a breath of fresh air. The best estate agents in Crawley without a doubt. They go above and beyond to help and provide honest, reliable information and advice without all the jargon!... Read more

SEVERE health and safety risks. I would advise anyone planning on dealing with property sales or lettings to think again, I have never experienced such lack of professionalism in my life and I am sickened at the treatment I have received. I am in the process of reporting Taylor Robinson to The Property Ombudsman. Jack Hickey showed us the property and requested the whole flat to be cleared of all leftover rubbish before we moved in. I was made to drive 20 miles to pick up my key, to which I found when I arrived back at the property, were in fact the incorrect set. It was only because I made Ben Cannon drop me the keys the next day that I was then allowed into my flat. He was happy to have made me wait 3 days before I could get into my flat. I was not invited for the inventory, which was odd considering I have been asked to be present for every other check in, but it was abundantly clear as to why this was the case once we had entered the property. Jack Hickey was present to assist whomever it was doing the inventory so he was fully aware that 2 days before the move in, nothing had been removed from the flat and it was in a diabolical state. When Ben Cannon arrived with the keys, I was able to see that all of the rubbish was still in the property. Ben told me the closest time he could get this sorted was also Monday. It was only because I demanded the flat be sorted that day that he eventually sorted this out. None of the safety checks had been completed as there was no gas or electricity. I was left with £60+ debt for the electricity and £20+ debt for the gas. With this, the only way I could use any electricity or gas was to top up however much, and 90% of what I paid would be used towards powering this flat. I spent £20 on gas to get £2 worth of usage. It was lucky I stayed around for the meter to update because whoever had done the inventory had taken the gas valve off so it was leaking copious amount of gas into the road. I had to call the emergency gas man to come out, to which he could not stress enough how many peoples lives were put at risk if I hadn't noticed the gas leak. The fridge freezer was covered in thick black mould inside, thus meaning I could not store any food until a new one was ordered and delivered. This was not sorted out by Taylor Robinson nor the landlord, but the landlords son, who thankfully owns the shop at the bottom of the road so he worked efficiently to get this sorted for us, it was NOT his job to do so. There are a total of 9 windows in this flat, not including the sky lights. Only 3 of these windows you can open. 2 of which you cannot lock shut. The fire alarms were not tested in this property and even though they are battery powered, they are broken. There is a smoke vent in the communal hallway that has had a flashing warning light since I moved in. I moved into this property in January, it is now November. This is a severe health and safety risk that no one has sorted after myself sending countless emails about it. At first all of my complaints were being dealt with (I use that term extremely loosely) by Ben Cannon. But after sending a number of complaints and realising that Ben would not admit anything in writing, I asked for the manager to be involved. Lawrence Taylor is the Director and I am absolutely disgusted by the attitude we have received. I have called up weekly (even daily at times) to resolve these issues and he has passed on a message to whoever answers the phone to me, that he is not in the office. I have sent numerous emails, weekly (also daily at times), to which he has been ignoring for the best part of 9 months. I have even conducted emails for Lawrence Taylor to respond quite easily to with regards to the grievances since we have moved in, and he seems completely incapable of giving me any sort of response... I do understand though that once he has put anything in writing he knows he and his company are completely at fault and can get into a lot of trouble so this makes a lot of sense.... Read more

It was an absolute pleasure working with Paul and the team…our interactions with both Sarah’s were terrific..always timely, polite, friendly and followed up as they said they would, keeping us up to date n every step of the process. Also of course, Adam was particularly helpful in helping us to decide which of the 6 offers we thought would be best to accept. Everyone was so professional and friendly..a great combination that achieved a very happy result. We were initially recommended to Home Partnership by one of our friends and needless to say will be highly recommending the Home Partnership team to our friends and colleagues.... Read more

The experience I had in the beginning of my interaction with this company was great. They where helpful and friendly during my 2 years as a customer. So why the 1 star? Well when it came to the end of my lease I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I bent over backwards to make sure that there was always someone at home to let them in to view the property when I was leaving. I gave then 3 months notice before I left. They where always friendly when they wanted to show someone the flat. But when it came time to handing back the keys it wasn't so great. I was stuck at work (it happens sometimes in life) and was arrived when the agency was closed I didn't feel comfortable putting keys and important documents through a letter box. So I was going to arrange to drop the keys off sometime the next day. So I get a very rude phone call first thing the next day from a very rude man who spoke to me in a threatening tone and spoke over me when I tried to reply to him and they charged me a full days rent. Yea I agree I didn't hand the keys back in time but is it necessary to speak to a loyal customer in such tone and charge me a full days rent for being half a day late? Come now there is no need to treat people as if they are trash. Disappointed with the whole thing. I'm not surprised the landlord has switched agencies now. And why am I being charged when they have a set of keys anyway?... Read more

Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000. Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer. Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show. Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.... Read more
