There was some initial disappointment when it was clear that the house had been overvalued, but they were quick to relist with the updated price. Everything was handled efficiently and professionally.<br>We'd like to single out Dan Wallace, who managed the process. He was open and helpful throughout, and managed everything with good humour. We're especially grateful for how considerate he was of my mother's needs, especially as she is older and English is not her first language.<br>Everyone we've spoken to in the team has been friendly and helpful, and they're quick to respond to questions and actually call you back when they say they will! Buying/selling a house is hugely stressful even when everything goes according to plan, and the Personal Agent were a big help in making our experience a little easier. Very happy to recommend.
9th Sep 2026 (8 days ago)Avoid them, rude and unethical practices<br><br>Avoid renting here at all costs. Our move-out and tenancy experience with this agency, and specifically our property manager Christina, was defined by rude correspondence, intimidation tactics, and highly unethical financial practices.<br><br>Despite paying our rent in full, they attempted to double-charge us over at checkout. Worse, they tried to unlawfully retain a huge portion of our deposit using completely fabricated charges. They billed us a huge "redecoration fee" for standard wear-and-tear and attempted to charge us for pre-existing issues—including carpet stains, curtains and sink scratches—that were all clearly documented on our move-in inventory. Christina even deliberately went back on verbal agreements she made on-site regarding these charges on painting. She even tried to blame us for pre-existing moth infestation on carpets and other issues during our stay which was documented on our checkin report.<br><br>Fortunately, we kept meticulous records and took them to the official Tenancy Deposit Scheme dispute service, where we won our dispute and forced the return of a major portion of our deposit. They prey on tenants who don't know their rights. Protect your money and peace of mind, and rent elsewhere.

He kept us updated throughout and was really patient when things got a bit difficult. We really appreciate all his hard work and would happily recommend him to anyone selling their home.

They were incredibly patient, understanding and supportive, and helped us enormously every step of the way.<br><br>A very special thank you to Mark, who was truly fantastic from beginning to end. He was always there when we needed him, kept us informed, answered all our questions and was incredibly patient with us throughout the whole process. Even when things became complicated or took much longer than expected, Mark remained professional, calm and supportive. We always felt that he genuinely cared about helping us and making sure everything moved forward. His help and reassurance made such a difference, and we really appreciated how involved he was throughout the entire journey.<br><br>And a huge thank you to Holly, who was honestly the best and most dedicated mortgage advisor we could have asked for. She was incredibly knowledgeable, responsive and supportive, and always went above and beyond to help us. We truly felt that she cared about getting us through the process and finding the best way forward, even when things became difficult.<br><br>And a very special thank you to Ryan as well. He was there for us at a moment when we genuinely thought our dream of buying the property had come to an end. When we felt completely discouraged and thought there was no way forward, Ryan stepped in, supported us and helped us keep going. His help at that particular moment meant more to us than he probably realises, and we will always be grateful for that.<br><br>Buying a home is a huge and sometimes stressful experience, and having people like Mark, Ryan and Holly by our side made it so much easier. We are genuinely grateful for everything they did for us, for their patience, hard work and dedication.<br><br>Thank you so much to the whole team — we couldn’t have asked for better support, and we would wholeheartedly recommend you to anyone looking to buy a home!

Pete was professional, knowledgeable and very approachable. He took the time to explain the current market, gave us clear and honest advice about our property, and talked us through the best way to achieve a successful sale without putting any pressure on us. We came away feeling confident that Pete really understands the local market and genuinely has our best interests at heart. His advice was straightforward, realistic and reassuring, which made the decision much easier for us. For those reasons, we’ve decided to choose Pete and S J Smith to sell our home. We feel we’ll be in very capable hands and would happily recommend Pete to anyone thinking of selling their property.

During the many "lumps and bumps" of the buying and selling process, they remained positive to achieve the ultimate aim of completing the sale! My wife and I where nothing but impressed, with the communication, and on going support offered by all of the team, when things looked decidedly uncertain of a completion. Rebecca, Patrick and the team are a credit to Bourne who are lucky to have them representing them in the small Farnham office. Bourne Farnham are Highly Recommended, from a couple who do not post reviews. Well done Bourne Farnham, who we would choose again, if we ever (never again) moved.

Andy and his team surprised us by getting lots of viewings and more importantly finding us just the right buyer. They kept us informed throughout the process with great feedback. Once a sale was agreed, Jules took over to ensure that all parties engaged in the chain kept everything moving and the sale completed in under 2 months. Her Tenacity in making sure that all enquiries were answered quickly and that the Solicitors were kept abreast of each others responsibilties ensured a sleek and swift completion. I cannot thank all the team enough.

I would like to individually name many of the staff , however the two that stood out were Mark (who runs the agency) and Alan Hackland. Mark was clear and friendly. He has lived in the area, so has local knowledge. He was honest and open throughout the process. Alan Hackland (Sales progressor) was outstanding . He communicated with everyone clearly throughout the process and always went above and beyond. He made a stressful process as easy as it could possibly be. George was helpful and went beyond expectations in terms of helpful communications and ensuring that our house sale went a smoothly and as quickly as we had hoped.
