2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

18th Aug 2026 (27 days ago)It is not a no sell no fee. Be very careful if you decide to go with them. I talk with richard to begin with them. They strongly recommend me to go sol agency. And told me after 4 months. I will be free to cancel and withdrawal or add multiple agency without extra chargres. I wasnot careful enough to read all the small prints of the contract thinking it will be a standard one. And richard already confirmed and guranteen me on the phone. So i trusted him and took his words for it at that time. Now 4 months later. I was told i need to pay a withdrawal fee for 350 if i want to make any alterations. And the time is indefinite. I feel that they have keep my house in hostage. Where i cant leave unless i pay them to get out of the hook.

4th Apr 2026 (23 weeks ago)They just sell their services and dump you no communication you are on your own. It’s DIY estate agency at a cut price because there is no service and you are on your own. It’s cheap and you get what you pay for (NOTHING)

8th Sep 2026 (6 days ago)Great work from the team at Brunton’s. After a pretty shabby shot with another estate agent, Brunton got viewings in straight away. Wendy, the branch manager, was always on hand. Laurel and Lucy were great setting up and organising viewings. Lastly, hats off to Victoria for pursuing endlessly for us in sales progression. We’ve now got the keys to our wonderful new home and tucked up in bed surrounded by an endless amount of boxes to unpack. Thanks to you all.
