Especially impressed by the quality of the viewings where are assigned viewing agent knew our property in and out, and was able to guage interest extremely effecitvely

Oliver and the team went the extra mile and even showed me a property on a Sunday as I work full time a weekends just so I didn’t miss out! I spent 5 very happy years in a home in York thanks to Stephensons would recommend them to anyone first time every time ??????- 26th May 2026 (16 weeks ago)On behalf of my son Richard…..I was new to buying a property and Hope at Stephensons was the Estate Agent for the sellers. My own online solicitor and the vendors solicitor were quite slow to the point my mortgage offer was only valid for 6 months (took 5 months 2 weeks to completion). To be honest without Hopes additional work over and above working tirelessly with both sets of solicitors I think I would have lost the house purchase. Hope was so helpful and patience with me when I was getting no updates from my own solicitor. Hope went above and beyond her own job description. Thankyou Hope, I am forever grateful to you for getting this over the finish line. Brilliant work.

29th Jan 2026 (7 mo. ago)After reading through some of the reviews it's mind boggling how some people receive an excellent service and some don't. Unfortunately our experience is hugely disappointing. We still receive emails about viewings for a property we don't live in and are still waiting for a sizeable deposit back from a rental. The utter lack of communication in the office is astonishing. How they have received excellent reviews is beyond understanding.

The estate agent department in Scarborough have recently informed me they are under no obligation to tell me anything negative about a property, they do not have to disclose anything such as management fund arrears.....even though the same company manage the building...

4th Sep 2025 (1 year ago)From Valuation onwards through marketing and liaison with the Sales team, the performance of the agent was exceptional. The customer service was efficient warm and friendly with attention to detail and the personal touch made it a delight using them, I got a great service and they travelled to Hunmanby from Scarborough to do the valuations, they were always there early so as not to keep the viewers waiting, whereas in my experience with some other local agents this is not a consideration. During the stressful conveyancing process with Solicitors between Exchange and Completion Tracey and her colleagues gave a massive amount of support and as I have moved numerous times over the years, I can tell you Colin Ellis are the best in North Yorkshire, also their fees too are highly competitive which helps tremendously especially when moving home. You won't be disappointed go with the best believe me my review can be verified and trusted. Many thanks Colin Ellis from Jane Hall, recently sold bungalow in Hunmanby near Filey Last week

I paid a £150 holding deposit after being told the landlord had approved my application and that I would proceed as the tenant.<br><br>Only a few hours later, I was informed that the application had been rejected and the refund would be issued. The refund was not processed on time, forcing me to chase it daily with no proper communication or urgency. It was only returned after a full week of constant follow-ups.<br><br>Although the money was eventually refunded, the way this was handled was unacceptable, stressful, and shows a clear lack of professionalism and respect for tenants’ time and money. I would not use this agency again and strongly advise others to be cautious.
14th May 2026 (18 weeks ago)Speaking as a seller, the service from Harvey Brooks was professional and productive, in that a buyer was already on the books and looking for a house like ours. This was great. Selling can be a painful and frustrating business but HB managed to keep us informed and our buyer onboard over what proved to be a lengthier process than expected. There was neither a downward chain nor upward but various legal difficulties emerged in the sale of an 1850's property, which proved to be extremely time consuming. My advice, choose your solicitor carefully, with experience of old, but incomplete for the modern era, title deeds. A lot of common sense would help on both or more sides. But HB helped get our sale completed by regularly liaising with all parties and that is what mattered in the end.

After this they ensured I was kept up to date with developments and were always extremely helpful with any queries I had. I could recommend their fantastic service to anyone wanting to sell their home.
