4th Oct 2021 (4 years ago)Made an appointment a month ago for a house valuation. Day before the appointment received a call cancelling said appointment in order to save petrol. Not impressed at all. Even if they want to do a valuation now my answer would be NO

24th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Its a difficult market for selling. Properties are listed in abundance with valuations perhaps starting too high. Buyers are few and far between which meant that we had only 4 viewings over the same number of months. Every viewing is therefore critical and needs your agent to be fully appraised of features and any questions answered. Initial valuations versus actual market sale price need to be considered carefully.
30th Mar 2022 (4 years ago)Not very good. Not very proactive and little to no feedback. Would not recommend. They also need to get up to date with market trends and new techniques of selling properties. Left them and sold with another agent.

5th Sep 2026 (11 days ago)We was purchasing a property advertised by SBC property. And dealt with russell, my wife left a review and was contacted by russell to remove it multiple tims, I just want to have my say on the experience.<br>Russell never came over freindly, it was always like we had to prove if we could afford it, after telling him we had a mortgage in principle and had a buyer for our house. He said that being in a chain was not a good position to be in. How many people wouldn't be in a chain on a purchase of 750k. When I initially made an offer, he just didn't get back to me, I rang up a week later and he said no, I raised the offer and again he didn't get back to me untill I rang him. Very unprofessional.<br>Then when the offer was excepted and we started paying thousands in searches, survey, valuation etc he didn't take it off the market or put sold subject to contract. When I rang him to ask if he could he was literally shouting down the phone at me. It was unbelievable.<br>Then he was ringing asking what the hold up was, I asked my solicitor and they said they are waiting for answers from the seller.<br>It was always like he thought we was time wasters and we was messing them around, when in fact it was us waiting for searches or usual conveyencing.<br>After spending 12,000 pounds, we was told that the property is unmortgageble due to some mines. When I told russell he said the sellers are equally out of pocket, well they wasn't, they spent 2k and it was there property, the property russell was selling that was unmortgageble.<br>When I told the sellers and russell they both made out like I was completely wrong and there was nothing wrong with the land.<br>I've recently spoken to an estate agent in cornwall and they said they should always advise us to undergo a mining survey at the very start, not from russel. The second I told him, it was re advertised.<br>Aggressive, irritating and very unprofessional.<br><br>You said to my wife on her review that it was an unfair representation when in fact as a customer russell is what I have wrote and is worse than my partners review indicates.<br>I had family members listen to the tone he spoke to me in and was gobsmacked! So it isn't just myself or my partner, as well as the seller.<br>The worst experience I have ever had. Compared to the estate agent we are dealing with now that have been incredible, friendly and helpful from the start, completely different experience.

From the initial advice about preparing the property for marketing, through the numerous accompanied viewings they arranged, to securing a satisfactory offer and ultimately a sale they kept us informed throughout. Its a conscientious ‘go the extra mile’ service you get from what is a family run business. They are approachable, always return calls, and importantly their commission is very competative. I have no hesitation in recommmending CJ Hole, Hucclecote.

Communication was consistently excellent and I particularly appreciated the prompt feedback after each viewing. This information is surely of great interest to every vendor but my previous experience of other agents has sometimes shown an unacceptable tardiness in passing on this information. James and Stef managed to combine an appropriately personal touch with great professionalism so that I felt well cared for and absolutely confident that they had my best interests at heart throughout. So thank you both - you're doing a great job and I wish you a bright and prosperous future.
