A Refershing Approach” I’m going to start this review by thanking Kaiden Ellingham and Grace in the Bicester Office for all of their help and support with the sale of my property. In my lifetime I have brought and sold a number of properties in a number of different areas of the country. From my past experience I link the “Jaws “theme “ with Estate Agents. Well that was the case until my dealings with Alexander & Co. Every member of the team has been knowledgeable, kind courteous, empathetic and understanding. The sale of my property was complex due to parities involved. Alexander & Co were able to keep the sale on course in very difficult circumstances. Kaiden Ellingham’s approach was enthusiastic, dynamic, his ideas were relevant. In addition he was knowledgeable of the area. Not only was he knowledgeable and experienced he was professional and gave a detailed approach on how to market the house with a realistic price figure and keep the sale on course. He was able to negotiate with all parties involved in difficult circumstances and went above and beyond! I know that the words honesty and trust are not usually words synonymous with Estate Agents but from my experience they can definitely be associated with Alexander and Co. I know that Alexander &Co’s approach in selling the house was working with both me and the buyer to ensure that the best price was achieved. From my experience when it comes to selling a property in the Bicester area if you want a reliable trustworthy agent who has knowledge of the area I wouldn’t be settling for second best and be heading to Alexander & Co. Absolutely shambles of a company ( Bicester ) very unprofessional and the property manager AMY refused to sort out our housing issue when we had our roof blown off in the wind and a constant leak for 3 weeks and a smashed conservatory. Still no reply from any of her emails. She Advised us she had arranged a contractor to sort the roof after numerous emails but still nothing has happened to this date after she promised she had arranged someone to fix it. I have reported the company to the local authorities and I would highly recommend staying away from this estate agents. They do not care about you, only when they receive commission from the rent. We were really nervous to sell our first home and after Alexander & co were recommended to us by my in laws we contacted them for an informal chat about the process of selling our home. We initially spoke with Kaiden, he was informative, professional and made us both feel completely relaxed asking any questions we had. They had an offer on their fees at the time and after our chat we arranged for them to come and view the house to value it. I think it was luck that it happened again to be Kaiden who came to see us, he ended up leading the sale of our house and was honestly amazing throughout. Completely attentive, kept us updated after each viewing and really pushed for us to get not only the right price for our home but the right person too. Once sold, Angela took over care & she was equally fantastic, but Kaiden continued to keep in touch where we he could. Even the staff at the office when i rang in a panic because of some complications in the chain later on were faultless. I have been lucky enough to have been a tenant renting in several countries all over the world, Mary O'Leary and Madaline Peris at Alexander and Co in Bicester are hands down the best real estate agents I have ever dealt with. Like most people the world over - the Covid 19 pandemic has thrown plans my partner and I had made out the window. Thankfully everyone at Alexander and Co were underneath with a blanket to break our fall. Mary and Madaline helped me get a nice cosy apartment last January until August when my partner and were due to leave for Australia. When our plans to leave Bicester were dashed in early August by a new outbreak down under, the staff at Alexander and Co found us a beautiful house to move into at very short notice. Hat tip to Renee Booth who was able to secure invaluable terms and conditions with the new landlord to accommodate any future plans we may have. A testament to the professional working relationship that Alexander and Co have with both tenants and landlords. We have been in our current rental property over 5 years, and during that time the landlord has changed Estate Agents managing the property 3 times. Before this we dealt with 2 different Estate Agents in our prior flat. Alexander & Co are the latest Estate Agents we are assigned to. We had no end of problems with all of the prior estate agents, they were impossible to get in contact with, slow to come back if at all, never very friendly, and pretty unwilling to help with anything. One of them even insisted on holding my provisional drivers' licence in exchange for lending me the spare set of keys when I got locked out, and when I retrurned them, they feigned all knowledge of taking my licence, then later claimed they sent it back to me in the post. Obviously they had lost it, and I had the cost of replacing it with no apology. Alexander & Co have been the difference of day and night. As soon as they took over management of our flat, they assigned us a Property Manager (ours is Madaline Peris) who we can contact directly if anything goes wrong. Unfortunately, we have had a few issues with appliances breaking and other general problems in the flat, but contacting Madaline is as easy as dropping an email. She always replies really quickly, and is always happy to help, look into the issue, or book a service. She is very good with correspondence, not just in coming back to you quickly, but with keeping you updated with what is happening, sending you a copy of the confirmation of booking form of any services booked, etc. Since lockdown/social-distancing began, over 18 weeks now, I have been staying with family. I learned an appliance had broken during this time with potential to cause problems. The engineer required someone to be home during his visit. Rather than have me travel from the location I am staying which is some distance away, Madaline agreed to attend the flat on my behalf. I do not consider this to be part of her job, and it is one example of how she goes above and beyond. Any problems we have had since the property moved to Alexander & Co's management have been resolved exponentially faster than with any of the other agents, response time is really fast and they are very courteous and professional. If you have to rent, the best you can hope for is having a good estate agent to work with, like Alexander & Co. It makes such a difference as a tenant, to be able to contact someone quickly and easily and get a quick response.... Read more

My partner & I dealt with Alexander & Co, who seemed to be very helpful and positive to start with. We were accommodating and very flexible to view a property that was a 2 hour round trip from where we lived, as were looking to relocate. We arrived in good time to the viewing, was shown around and were very pleased with what we saw. The property was advertised online as 1 small pet allowed - which we had a small dog and was assured by the agent showing us around that this would be fine with the landlord, as they had pets with previous tenants. We put in an offer very quickly after this, and ensured all relevant documentation and information was given to Alexander & Co. Things then took a drastic turn, as we were told our offer/application was being rejected by the landlord due to us having a small dog, which he wasn't considering for this property. On top of this, we were then told the landlord is ideally looking to sell the property (through a different estate agency), despite Alexander & Co. saying that the landlord is looking for long-term let.. "the longer the better" ... was told to us during our viewing Whether the landlord was playing the agencies against each other, or Alexander & Co. had entirely missed the mark on their information, or tried to cover up on behalf of the landlord, it doesn't look good on any parties involved. Lets hope the takeover by Alexander and Co makes wholesale changes because Bannisters are by far the worst letting agent I have ever had misfortune to deal with. We love the area and have great neighbours and do not really want to leave, but their level of customer service and engagement are almost non-existent. We have been at the property a while and have struggled since day one to get anything out of them, the house wasn't handed over in decent order and it their completion rate on reported defects is less than 25%. Getting information from them is almost impossible unless they will make some money out of it. Avoid at all costs... Read more

A V O I D ! Perspective new tenants were shown around our property without our permission at least twice. We were out of the house and neighbours told us they had seen viewings take place. Workmen entered the property with no notification. I was upstairs recovering from an op when I heard two guys in my kitchen. This happened a few times over the two years we rented through them. Regular inspections wouldn’t happen, we would wait in and no one would show up. However the landlady was told they had inspected. We moved in with no working shower, the landlord had requested that this was fixed and Banisters told them it was. I made sure I was present for the check out inventory, we repainted the whole house, fitted new bulbs, spent about a week making the place more clean than when we moved in and the inspector got me on dust on the top of a hanging light bulb in the garage ???? needless to say we did get our full deposit back...but I would never say a good word about this company! When planning my move from London I contacted a range of agents and Bannisters were easily the most efficient and helpful; the highly knowledgeable team rapidly suggested suitable properties and arranged viewings which took place on time and were accompanied by extensive market knowledge. From the initial call to signing the paperwork the communication from Bannisters was excellent and whilst the otherwise well prepared property had a few minor niggles when I took the keys, it was all sorted quickly and to a good standard by professional contractors.
