Chalk Street are the best estate agent we've ever worked with, we are so happy we went with them, they have been brilliant. Jack and Mandy have been great, the whole team is friendly and professional. In particular, Mandy is so fantastic at her job. We had a difficult move (no fault of Chalk Street but due to issues in the chain) and Mandy was so on top of it. She kept us updated, did the work of all the other estate agents in the chain, by chasing all of the estate agents and solicitors in the chain. She really went above and beyond. I honestly think it would've all fallen apart without her. We can't express our gratitude enough.

I have never left a customer review before but when I encountered the friendly, professional, personal approach which Chalkstreet provided, I felt the need.
My house sale and purchase were part of a chain and it was very apparent that not all estate agents work the same way. When contacting the office, the telephone/email is always answered. Even when it is one specific person you need to speak to, anyone within the office is willing to do their upmost to help. Amazing teamwork!
I must give a big shout out to Jack, Ben and especially Linda and Mandy, for sales progression.
I would definitely recommend Chalkstreet as the first choice for estate agency in Havering. I can't thank them enough.

We've been looking in Hornchurch for the good part of 6 months and there's quite a few Estate agents in the area but noticed that quite a few use Chalk Street. So that's a good sign. We've been dealing with Faye ever since we've had our offer accepted. Chalk Street are very quick to respond to any e-mails and always seem to be on the case. This detail takes alot of stress out I'm sure you can relate. They also seem to be in constant contact with their clients and will relay any updates quite quickly. Don't really have any negative things to say for a change! Just keeping our fingers crossed for Completion!

I have just sold my house with Chalkstreet and I must say their customer service is excellent.
We first met Jack who came to value our house and he is lovely and went above and beyond throughout the process to help where ever he could. Further more the rest of the team are so friendly and helpful. There is always someone to speak to at the office to answer any of you queries and if they promise a call back they always call.
Linda the sales negotiator was great and always gave me all our feedback from viewings and offers in a timely manner and discussed throughly my options to decide what we would like to do.
Mandy the sales progressor is brilliant and she kept me updated accordingly with everything I needed to know throughout the process and if I had any concerns she always addressed and resolved them with no hesitation!
Obviously nothing is straight forward with selling and buying a house but my experience with chalkstreet was second to none, nothing is too much trouble for any of the team. I achieved a good price for my house and most importantly the integrity, attention to detail and communication we received throughout was outstanding.

Throughout our home selling process, they were incredibly communicative. They promptly answered calls and emails, keeping us informed about every development. I was always able to get someone on the phone immediately and they always called on time. I liked the fact that on viewing days there was someone who was available to speak to and they were super fast in getting feedback.
Their efficiency was remarkable. They expedited everything and coordinated viewings effectively, leading to a quick sale. Their proactive approach was evident when they organized an open house that attracted multiple offers and we went with the best offer with most chance of completion.
This was one of the best experience Ive had and will consider buying and selling in future exclusively with Chalk Street.

From first contact the team (& in particular Ben) were extremely helpful, professional & efficient. So much so, that our house was sold just 2 weeks after I first contacted them.
Then we were passed to Mandy, Chalk St’s sales progresser. Mandy has been unbelievably patient and helpful, especially in some frustrating circumstances! Mandy is super responsive and always in touch with updates. Thanks to her hard work, we were able to exchange just 7 weeks after finding our onward property.
In addition to the great service we received, Chalk St’s fixed fee provided good value for money for us - it’s difficult to see how other agents charge more money for less service!

Having originally bought a property through Chalk Street in 2021, we were impressed with the way they kept us updated on the progress of the purchase which was great being a first time buyer. Mandy always made sure we knew what was going on.
Our good experience made us want to use Chalk Street to sell, and we were seen by Jack who talked us through all our questions and gave reassurances where necessary. Mandy again has made sure we are up to date with any developments with our buyer and has also been keeping our buyer in the loop while we found our next property while not applying any pressure which we have very much appreciated. This is one of the reasons that we decided to go with Chalk Street as they seem to be more friendly and less pushy than other estate agents we have come across in the area.
The property that we are now in the process of buying is also through Chalk Street. Everyone we have dealt with has been very transparent, honest and friendly throughout. Lois has always been happy to help with any queries and booking viewing appointments, and Faye was great when it came to making an offer on a property and guiding us where we needed it.
All in all it has been a welcome experience of what can be the most stressful period of people’s lives, so we appreciate all they’ve done.

The sales manager Dan was extremely easy going, no pushy sales chat, I wasn’t pressured into using his mortgage broker or solicitors like every other agent! It was politely spoken about and a easy flowing conversation confirming I was happy with what I had in place with the options there if needed. He answered every question I asked with ease and I knew this guy had great knowledge and experience.
I felt like he was genuinely happy when I had the offer agreed! Dan even helped me secure and exchange and completion before the stamp duty deadline, I believe the turnaround was 8 weeks! When an estate agent is so terrible, it turns you off buying a house...
Dealing with this agent was incredibly frustrating and I would not recommend them to anyone!
We had an offer on a house accepted with them and the lack of response and professionalism was truly shocking. Over and over again, Daniel S. did not acknowledge or respond to emails with explicit questions. We even tried calling to ask a question and then following up with an email and he still didn't answer. When we saw the vendor, we asked them the question and they responded right away so it was clear that he had not even bothered to ask.
Progress moved at a snail's pace. It took 2 weeks to get a memo of sale produced and that was only after I started following up with them by phone daily. I understand that the vendor can hold things up but when an offer is accepted, you would think it would be in the agent's interest to follow up . The day after the agreed sale, they sent an email out saying my details should be provided in 1-2 days. When I asked why they hadn't followed up with the vendor in these timeframes, he told me "honestly that's a standard email we send out". So clearly not too bothered with meeting their own standards.
The only saving grace was the few interactions I had with Lois, who was a pleasure to work with. She was responsive, professional, and friendly. Others could learn from her example.
EDIT: The response from Chalk St. below really hammers home their complete lack of professionalism.
1) Referring to the vendor as "elderly" and "require(ing) support" is clearly meant to paint a certain image. I met the vendor and she was clearly capable and savvy. I'm also guessing she would be very offended to be referred to in this manner.
2) Stating the financials of an offer in a public comment is *incredibly* unprofessional. Our private surveyor identified foundational issues and we amended our offer accordingly. The vendor did not accept the amended offer, which is their right. None of this impacts the lack of communication from Chalk Street. In fact, this reminds me of yet another example of an ignored question. Daniel told me that there were insurance companies that would not be concerned with the foundational issues if they were over a certain number of years old. As my insurance broker said he was unaware of any companies that did this, I asked Daniel (on the phone and then via email) if he could provide me with some details on which insurance company or broker he was referring to, as it could have helped with the finances and decision to move ahead. Again, No Response.

I have called a few agents asking for advice as I am looking to purchase my first property. I feel other agents felt like I was a burden asking questions which I suppose in their eyes are very simple things. I called Chalk Street and spoke with Daniel who was very helpful. Daniel explained the best steps for me to start my search, offered to put me in touch with expert mortgage advisors, he even took the liberty to provide me with a quote which helped me establish my outgoings for my potential purchase.

My son chose Chalk Street out of the agents that visited as he is an agent himself and wanted someone professional and passionate about their job hence this choice. I mainly dealt with Linda Sullivan Re viewings she was always keeping me updated and again with a professional attitude and finally Mandy Bootle an incredible asset who holds the sale together every step of the way liaising with both myself, the.purchasers and solicitors alike.
Would highly recommend this agent and I think their fees should be higher they deserve it!

The sale progression agent was very pro-active in chasing up the solicitor who seemed to take a long time with correspondence to the buyers' solicitor.

Cannot commend Chalk Street Estates enough.
Half the price of most other estate agents, none of the hard sell tactics & a realistic valuation, rather than a bargain basement price to shift the property asap.
Within 24 hours of the house going up for sale we had 3 serious offers,
Within a few days it was sold.
From start to finish, Ben and in particular Mandy kept the process on track, chasing solicitors and communicating at every step.

Attitude for agents in this establishment are appalling. I feel for the people who list thier property with this branch. Due to the rude attitude and false stories. I have worked with several estate agents to purchase properties in the hornchurch area and Chalk Street are the worst of the bunch. Now chalk Street won't get a penny from me. I feel sorry for the vendors in rm12 who will potentialy loose buyers due to the rudeness of Chalk Street. I also forgot to mention that the agent advised not to call them for properties that are on the market with them. WHAT ESTATE AGENT SAYS THIS??... CHALK STREET ESTATE AGENT DOES! Hornchurch branch should be shut down.

Chalk Street is a breath of fresh air for estate agency in the area. For too long the same old high street firms have provided a below par service and charged us a fortune for the privilege. Chalk Street’s £2200 no sale no fee package blows them all away.
They delivered on everything they promised in our very first meeting (and more) and did not use any of the typical flannel the two other ‘big’ agents gave us.
These guys are current, switched on and going places. Excellent.

I was looking for financial guidance re mortgages and on the lookout for a suitable property within my budget . An appointment was made with a local estate agents in Romford which I left with what I thought at the time was poor advice and very poor mortgage offers but had been lead to believe it was the best out there for me and subsequently signed . ( Pls note …even though I emailed the previous agents on the same day as signing I never manged to get their fees back for what I found later was shockingly poor advice and offers ! )
A friend recommended I tried Chalk Street Estates before proceeding any further with the chain in Romford. The time spent with Daniel and Craig not only found me the perfect property within a couple of days but also made me feel naive for listening to the previous estate agents mortgage advice whom I had used before and thought I could trust. There are many estate agents in Hornchurch so I thought long and hard which one to go with when I decided to sell my house. Chalk Street Estates website is well laid out, their fees are right there and IMO very very competitive compared to many others. Lee the branch manager was up front and honest in all the discussions between him and myself. Add to that he always responded to emails or phone calls promptly was an added bonus. But most of all Chalk Street Estates worked hard to sell my house, which they did on the open day. I highly recommend them
