Our experience with Chancellors has been deeply disappointing. They failed to deliver on their promises and have shown a lack of professionalism and attention to detail in the marketing and handling of our property.
We were extremely unhappy with how Chancellors presented our property. Despite discussing its defining qualities with the sales agent, the listing was reduced to a generic, one-paragraph description that lacked key details. We even had to request changes before it went live, and the results still didn’t reflect the unique appeal of our home. Their strict limit of 10 photographs significantly limited the property’s visual impact, which we believe hampered its ability to attract interest.
After the initial listing, we expected consistent support and updates from a dedicated agent, as initially promised. However, the agent who originally brought our property on board left Chancellors without any notice to us. Instead of informing us promptly, we only learned about this change when we had to ask repeatedly. We were then passed between various agents from different branches, with most contact coming from the Virginia Water office rather than the Staines branch. This lack of continuity and coordination between branches made us feel neglected and that our property wasn’t being properly prioritized.
Chancellors claimed impressive numbers of views and clicks on our property listing. However, not a single viewing was scheduled in a month. These metrics, have been meaningless in practice, suggesting that their marketing strategy was fundamentally flawed. We expected Chancellors to actively strategize and bring genuine leads to our property, but the disconnect between online traffic and in-person viewings speaks volumes about their inadequate approach. Since switching to a different local agent at the same price point, we’ve already had more viewings—a clear sign of Chancellors’ ineffective efforts.
Our only regular contact has been a weekly automated “insights” email, which provided no real feedback or actionable advice. When we finally received a call from an agent (who had not been involved previously), they suggested lowering our asking price without any convincing explanation or insight into why viewings had not been secured. This lack of personal engagement and accountability made us feel like we were just a number in their system.
Even more frustrating, more than a month after we stopped marketing with Chancellors, no one has contacted us to collect the "For Sale" sign, leaving us to take it down ourselves and store it. This lack of basic follow-up reflects a level of neglect and disregard that has been typical of our experience.
Overall, we’ve been left feeling let down by Chancellors’ lack of professionalism, poor communication, and inadequate marketing efforts. We expected a proactive, coordinated service, but instead, Chancellors delivered a frustrating and disorganized experience. We cannot recommend their services to anyone looking for a committed and reliable estate agent.

Dealing with Kallee is always a pleasure. She is proactive as well as responsive, returning calls and emails in a timely manner while making sure to reach out with any updates. Kallee is professional whilst also friendly and helpful, explaining any unfamiliar terminology and using her knowledge and experience to guide you. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and should we require any services again in the future we would be certain to seek Kallee’s assistance.

My husband and myself are looking to buy a property in the area. We firstly tried to get in touch for 2 weeks with the agency with no luck. ( emails, phone calls ). Then when finally got a call back, been told property we want to look at is under offer, althouth currently ( more than a week after we've been told so, the property is still marketed and not yet under offer ). Wanted to get details of another property, been told- look at the website ( but it doesnt have all the details !) Called again, after 4 unsuccessful calls, got someone on the line. Been told they will send it to us, and again nothing...we are still waiting... so if you have A Lot of time, and not under pressure to buy, you can probably use them. But if you want responsive agents, I dont think they are for you.

Mine was a challenging sale! Graham and Brian worked consistently tirelessly and positively and eventually were successful. I cannot praise the Chancellors team at Virginia Water highly enough. At all times I was kept fully briefed, and when things appeared to be going wrong, as they inevitably do, Brian was an immense support to me, contacting solicitors, the other parties involved, and making sure everyone in the chain kept moving. I would thoroughly recommend them for your sale/purchase, and if ever I move again, they would be my first port of call. From a very professional brochure, to complete after sales care, definitely the estate agent for all your needs. Thank-you

Chancellors in Virginia Water worked really hard to facilitate everything on my purchase. Graham Brown, especially, put in a lot of time contacting solicitors on both sides to get things moving quicker on what was quite a long and involved leasehold process and on keeping me informed throughout. I'd certainly recommend both Graham and Chancellors.

I bought my present home in Virginia Water through Chancellors and I couldnt be happier. When I offered the full asking price I was told that another slightly under had been made. I then fully expected that my offer would be put to the other buyer and we would then engage in a bidding war (as is pretty mch expected with almost all other estate agents nowadays) but Robert told me that I had offered the full price so as far as he was concerned that was it - the other buyer wouldnt be given a further opportunity and there would be no bidding war. I knew then that they were 'good guys' - I put my trust in them thereafter and they didnt let me down. 10/10

Chancellors in Virginia Water are perhaps the rudest men I have had the displeasure to meet. They quote "I am acting in the best interest of my client" by advising them to pull out of the sale in the same week that exchange was due. They also unnecessarily inflate the prices and give sellers false hope of a high sale. As a customer (buyer), this has definately been one of the most horrible experiences of my life. I have lost 1000s of pounds in legal fees, mortgage fees and more. I would advise anyone looking to purchase a property to look elsewhere.

We recently purchased a cottage in Virginia Water. Chancellors were our agents both in selling and buying our properties and we have been so impressed with how professional and helpful they have been through the whole process.
Graham Brown at the Virginia Water office was our agent in buying our new property. Throughout Graham has been professional, friendly and extremely helpful. No request was ever too much trouble whether it be extra viewings or queries about the purchasing process. Graham was constantly in touch with us to provide updates and help provide an efficient service that also helped to allay an concerns that we may have had through the negotiation and completion process.
We cannot thank Graham enough for all of the help that he has provided over the last few months. We have quickly settled into our new property and it already feels like home. If we ever decide to move again then Chancellors will be our first port of call.

Robert Colman was very helpful over the last year helping us to buy our new property. He returned all our calls and dealt with all matters efficiently. He guided us through the process on a number of properties throughout the search and was always on hand to provide help needed.
Overall we felt the service was very good and would recommend Robert and Chancellors.

The initial sale process was excellent. Brian visited and reviewed the property and discussed the price for marketing it. He then sold the house at the asking price a week before the photos were even taken(!), to a lovely family with whom I maintained regular contact throughout the process. Gareth from the support office then kept me informed throughout the post-sale process upto exchange and completion. Exchange was heavily delayed to the eleventh hour (though not by any fault of Chancellors) but everyone made sure that the agreed completion date was met. So overall I was very happy with the experience.
