WARNING about damp flat with health hazard they are currently relisting ( 1 bed, Tudor Way, Knaphill)
Very long story short we had the most stressful year renting a flat that was being destroyed by damp and black mould in every room. Destroyed thousands of pounds worth of belongings etc. Despite being logged as a health and safety hazard on the inventory check out report, and knowing that flat needs some serious investigation and work, chancellor's decide to relist it 9th April just TWO WEEKS after we moved out.
Anyone who is going to view their (now inscreased) £1.2k 1 bed flat inTudor Way Knaphill, just know that it has serious damp issues and it will ruin your health and chancellors dont give a toss about anything but taking your money. There's water ingress in the built in wardrobe wall, mouldy carpets and window bays and they just keep painting over it until I comes back through, which doesn't take long.
They failed to fix it when we were there and acccording to residents this keeps happening over and over, people move out due to damp and the next victims move straight in.
Funny thing is chancellor's lied the whole time saying flat has never been damp and saying we won't be relisting it. And it took them a lick of paint and TWO weeks.
Chancellor's and south east property management lied to us on multiple occasions, we wouldn't trust them again.
We're with Seymour's now and very happy in a non damp flat.

Unfortunately the experience my wife and I have had with Chancellors Woking has been utterly abysmal. Communication was next to non-existent without us chasing. Despite being assured that the property we were trying to sell was highly desirable and they had several potential buyers looking for something exactly like our property, we had but a single viewing over the entire summer period! They blamed the lack of interest on us setting the price too high (even though we had gone with the price that their sales manager had suggested we could get) and even when we lowered it they were still unable to generate any viewings for us. At their request we made the property available for an open day 3 times, all of which were cancelled by Chancellors due to supposed lack of interest (not that they bothered to tell us!). When we decided we'd had enough and told them that we no longer wished to make use of their services, the regional manager got involved and, rather than apologising for the poor service we had received, was downright rude to my wife. With the exception of a few of their junior staff, my wife and I feel that Chancellors have shown us nothing but incompetence and contempt and, to top it all off, they are charging us £474 pounds for the privilege of this non-service! The only thing I can recommend about Chancellors Woking is that you steer well clear until they sort themselves out.

The list sadly goes on.
Whilst this review is merely an expression of my opinion, it is one reached after 7 years of interaction.
I rented a 4 bedroom house from them, and they acted as agent for the landlord who I never met. After viewing the house, it was agreed a lot of work was needed to make it a habitable family home. The agent very clearly agreed, and we struck a deal based upon basic things such as cleaning and painting would be done for us to enable a fresh start.
On move in day we arrived to find none of this had been done, and when we raised the issue, we were told: ‘just leave it as you find it.’ This of course was unacceptable as the house, as-well-as dirty, was actually unsafe.
When we left, they ignored us for months, and then tried to steal our deposit on the grounds that the house needed works!!! Saying that the check I had been lost and all issues were down to us.
After taking this to the authorities they ruled, correctly, against the agents.
However, this does not make us for months and years of stress and risk.
Avoid like the plague.
UPDATE:
The case went the tenancy deposit scheme’s arbitration, and although it took several months, I received everything. The landlord chose to also blame the agent for the issues.

They are really slow. Getting anything fixed eg boiler, leeks etc take weeks. In our personal opinion I’d never use them ever again. Our oven has been broken for over 3 weeks. Still waiting. We have to call and chase them to find out what’s happening. Really unprofessional.

If I could give half a star I would. One of the worst agencies I’ve ever had to deal with. Unprofessional, dishonest, lazy and incompetent. They also like to take advantage of young vulnerable individuals with disabilities and ignore concerns. Avoid Woking branch sales team they just want your money.

One of the worst agents I've ever had to deal with, and that is saying something.
Months taken to resolve serious issues, they blame contractors rather than take any responsibility, a week or more between email replies and after having no working shower for months I was offered £50 compensation which was worse than insulting. Avoid.

To start on a high, the estate agent actually was very helpful. Answered any questions I had and was very kind. The issues started with communication. I was given a sales progressor who failed to give thorough updates and when they did, they were weeks after my solicitor gave me one. When I communicated this to them, they got very defensive, deflected and I was passed onto another sales progressor. No accountability taken. Again, same happened with the new progressor, slow/no updates, but I just cracked on and waited (almost pulled out at this point as I was now on the 5th month of waiting and the thought of them gaining commission on such an awful service really annoyed me). Completion day then came around, a day that is supposed to be so exciting and luckily was but only due to the people I was with. CHANCELLORS DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO I WAS OR THAT I WAS THERE TO COLLECT THE KEYS. They didn't even know about the property even though it was their listing! They turned me away and I had to wait 6 hours until my solicitor gave me the go ahead to try and collect the keys again. I came back and was pretty annoyed (rightly so) and the person who gave me the keys tried to justify the situation by telling me how bad their experience was when they first bought a property?! I literally couldn't be arsed at that point. When I finally did collect the keys, someone was still vacant in the property! Luckily they were very kind but I didn't think it was very appropriate.

Very unprofessional! The rent refund process was totally chaotic. No one followed up after a month then saying that they have not found a new tenant yet which Chancellors are the one who asked us to leave earlier if possible. After that staff is no longer working there, they claimed that they do not have any evidence and asking us to pay the rent (29 days) even we were told to move out as there were someone moving in in 5 days. TOTALLY SCAM!!! DO NOT USE THIS agency!!!!

Since putting my own house on the market with another agent in Woking Chancellors has bombarded me with cards offering their services. They are not the only agent who has done this. All have been asked to stop and they have except Chancellors who has ignored my request. Annoying potential customers shows contempt for them. Who would want to use an estate agent who treats their potential customers with contempt.

Not only can I guarantee that you will very rarely meet someone as friendly as Jordan, but I can also confirm that he is very switched on and knows his markets well, wherever they may be.
After catching up with him over the weekend he has convinced me to consider Woking for a next investment. I can't promise I will purchase in the area as all my investments have been in London but I will consider!

PLEASE DO READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF FROM DISAPPOINTMENT, STRESS AND WASTE OF YOUR TIME ! IF I COULD I WOULD NOT RATE CHANCELLORS EVEN ONE STAR. THEIR ATTITUDE , WORKING ETHIC AND DISHONESTY IS UNBELIEVABLE.
Two weeks ago me and my partner registered with Chancellors to view a property in St. Johns Village , we were dealing with ** TANIA ROCHA ***from sales who from the beginning sounded like she is not even keen to do her job or get her commissions. We met her at the property and were surprised that she doesn't know almost anything about the house and when we asked her why the property hasn't sold yet she said it is very overpriced which I found very unprofessional. You would expect she will be acting on behalf of her seller's interest ... Unfortunately for us we fell in love with the house and straight after the viewing we put an offer on the property. It was Friday and *** TANIA ROCHA - SALES NEGOTIATOR ***said to us our offer won't be put forward until Monday as they have another viewings on SAturday ...????
On Monday we were very eager to hear the outcome of our offer but we had to call them ourselves to find out that TANIA ROCHA is off sick and that manager JORDAN will handle our offer. I called *** JORDAN CASKIE- SENIOR SALES MANAGER ***again around 1pm to find out that he actually can't find our offer form so he asked me to resend the offer form through to him which was promptly done by my partner . She never received any acknowledgment that he has received that email and that they are putting the offer through or dealing with it ... it was 5 pm when we thought we would check in again but ***JORDAN CASKIE ***was not around so we spoke to his colleague who mentioned there is another party interested who made an offer and that JORDAN CASKIE would calls us by the end of the day to give us some update...
We never heard back from him and had to chase again the following day to find out there are other two offers on the table and JORDAN kept saying that there are at very similar level to ours... Remember, it has been more than 72 hours since we submitted our offer and we've never received official email confirmation to acknowledge our offer. on Tuesday after 2pm we received call from CHARITY HOLDEN - SURREY & HANTS SALES REGIONAL DIRECTOR who rejected our offer saying that there are two other offers which are significantly higher than ours . Her negotiations skills were 0 as she didn't even bother to ask us if we would like to increase our offer... After the phone call with her we decided to increase our offer which again was not acknowledged by email or phone call ( which made us think that maybe the seller was not even made aware of our offers in a first place )...
The following day we just received email that our increased offer was rejected and the seller decided to proceed with another offer ,NO PHONE CALL FROM *** CHARITY HOLDEN ***OR ANY OF THEM AND IT WAS JUST LEFT LIKE THAT .
We really felt treated unfairly and that we never actually had any chance to get this house. I HOPE SELLERS ARE ALSO READING MY REVIEW BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO PROCEED WITH THIS AGENCY AS THEY WILL NOT ACT IN THEIR BEST INTEREST WHATSOVER. Our offer was rejected on Wednesday but obviously we never had a call from them.
I decided to give MANAGER JORDAN call today which is Saturday ( 3 days later) to find out what exactly happened with my offer . You won't believe it but he completely lied through his teeth saying that our offer was rejected last night ( which was Friday) ?! ....
WE WILL NEVER USE CHANCELLORS AGAIN EVEN IF THEY HAVE OUR DREAM HOME , THEY ARE DOGGY AND NOT DECENT ESTATE AGENTS AT ALL . WE WILL BE ALSO LOOKING TO REPORT THIS ISSUE TO ESTATE AGENTS OMBUDSMAN .

Horrendous estate agent.
Had their sales manager around in September for a valuation whom came for 5 minutes and left, didn't provide much information to go on and seemed like he was in a rush. Thought it was a one off, did another valuation with their Branch Manager (Terry) and was coerced and locked into a long 4 month agreement end of last year and had 1 viewing by their branch manager, this person subsequently left a month later and never heard from anyone again until I called the branch in mid January to find out what is going on, realised the whole office is new, they didn't know my name or our property. Was promised a load of stuff by Terry but nothing happened, pictures online were not great was raised to that branch manager and no one did anything. The Staff changed in December 2020 and didn't hear from anyone really until contract was ending to reduce price etc.
Thankfully ended the agreement with these amateurs and gone elsewhere, reading a similar review and experience below seems like there are other homeowners and customers which have also been in the same predicament and extremely let down.
I would NOT recommend Chancellors to anyone whose looking to sell their home.
It's not a surprise when you look around the local area and online there are not many Chancellors boards about. Out of 900+ properties for sale here these lot have .... wait for it 30 odd , that should speak volumes!

Dreadful experience and a warning to any homeowner looking to sell.
Joined in August 2020 to try and sell my property and had a good feeling with the manager I met at the time. Unfortunately the majority of viewings in 2020 had one issue or another and buyers were not properly checked prior to showing them in the flat about what is it they were looking for. Then the entire staff changed due to issues as I was later informed and it went from bad to worse - misplaced house keys, typo after typo on email correspondences from the new manager and then had the nerve to request a 28 notice to ‘leave’ despite the contractual part expiring 2 months earlier. Sadly even the regional manager was dishonest when complaints were raised as the property was still advertised despite being reassured it would come off the market earlier than that notice period that was dragged out. If your prepared to sell cheaply, then maybe this is the right company and branch for a sale as that was the only ‘expert’ guidance I was given when they couldn’t ‘sell’ to potential buyers - but then not a single member of the team came to discuss the property with me, the owner prior to showing anyone around.

After finding what was probably the worse solicitors, they were very good at dealing with these useless people and still went out of their way to help. Terry and his team were amazing.

5 Stars. Gotta say I've never ever ever given a 5 star rating to anyone or anything believing that there is always room for a little improvement somewhere. However, on this occasion I've done so without any real hesitation. Why? Simply because my wife and I have had the sort of difficult purchasing experience you wouldn't wish on anyone not even a Chelsea supporter.... That latter comment is not to be taken lightly. I'm Tottenham thru and thru BUT during the process the team at Chancellors Woking, particularly Branch Manager Terry, ably supported by Matt never ever gave us reason to doubt their ability to make it happen. The process took a mind boggling 24 weeks from offer to completion. Mind boggling as we were cash buyers and they was no chain. We encountered numerous hurdles along the way. Had to deal with certain elements who gave us cause for concern. There was pain but as they say "no pain no gain"....thats complete tosh by the way. We almost gave up but the professionalism of the Chancellors team never wavered and they fought for us. They kept us informed and frankly challenged us to trust them and we are so glad we did. They were instrumental in making it happen. I could go on and on and on but I won't. Just trust what I've written. This brief overview is just that 'brief' but it has to be said. We are now proud owners of a wonderful flat which our grown up daughter lives in. We also now have friends at Chancellors Woking. So from me and my wife Alison a big thank you to the team there and special thank you's to Terry and Matt.......Cheers chaps. Beers on me

After placing my flat on an online website for 6 months and not having any luck I decided to go with Chancellors on the Friday by the Tuesday they had Sold my flat, so would highly recommend Chancellors Woking. Although a daunting process, Terry, Dan and Matt kept me fully informed throughout the process efficiently and professionally.
I have dropped a star purely due to the centralised back office progression team who were not easy to contact and did get me frustrated at times but one call to Dan or Terry and I would be back on track with what was going on behind the scenes. That said, via Chancellors recommended list of solicitors (QCAS), Attwells was first class and keeping me abreast of both transactions.
I would highly recommend Chancellors Woking to anyone.

I have dropped a star purely due to the centralised back office progression team who although were informative were not easy to contact. That said, via Chancellors recommended list of solicitors (QCAS), Scott D was first class at keeping us abreast of both transactions.

I recently bought a flat through the Woking branch and mainly dealt with Matt Carter. He was always helpful and approachable, answering all the questions I had about the property before and after the sale. If he was unavailable there was always someone happy to pass on a message; it would have been a 5* rating if they had tried to answer my queries without passing on the message, but I imagine that is just their set up.

Dealt with Matt Carter on several occasions, very professional and courteous. In this instance we couldnt find a property with Matt but this was in spite of him trying his hardest and really going the extra mile for us. Would certainly deal with Matt (and therefore Chancellors) again.

The team at Chancellors were excellent. They focused on getting quality prospective buyers for viewongs rather than just quantity of people not really interested. Once we had proceeded with an offer, the team and in particular Robert Colman and Matt Carter were very efficient and responsive, helping the process along nicely through to completion. Estates agents in general don't have the best of reputations and after spending the last year looking for houses in the Woking area I have definitely come across my fair share of good agents and bad. Alex from Chancellors in Woking was definitely one of the good ones. He was extremely polite and friendly as well as very responsive. I would have to say though that Alex went above and beyond with helping us secure what was in the end a rather eventful house purchasing experience. Doing all he could by liaising with solicitors and vendors from all parties across the chain.
I would have no hesitation in using Alex again in the future or recommending him to others.

I don't know about the previous reviews, but here comes a real experience from a real person: Absolutely, utterly, FRUSTRATING and APPALLING (for Chancellors Woking)
I cannot believe this company is still in business as they disappointed and frustrated me in virtually every occasion they could.
1. Prior to commencing my tenancy, they told me I would enter the property on day x and a few days before day x they informed me it was actually 3 weeks later - which forced me to find a temporary property for 3 weeks as I had already ceased my previous tenancy and as a result experience a big hassle and spend a lot of unnecessary money
2. They delayed to send me contracts and then, after I called them to request it, they sent it to me and were requesting ridiculous deadlines for completing them and sending it signed back to them (i.e. 1 -2 hours)
3. When I gave the notification that I wished to leave the property, I had on one occasion a Chacellors agent literally entering my house without any notice whatsoever (they simply opened the door and walked in) to show the property to potential new tenants and I had just come out of the shower and they nearly put me in a very embarrassing situation. Being honest, I think the "potential tenants" were even more embarrassed with the whole situation.
4. When I eventually left the property, they simply never got back to me to return my deposit and I spent days exchanging messages to receive my undisputed deposit back, let me make this clear, U N D I S P U T E D which therefore should have been paid back right away, and still they made mistakes and sent me less money than what they should have and to this date I am still to receive it in full.
My problems are still ongoing and perhaps I should have waited until my case with Chancellors is closed to write a review here as given the experiences I have had so far, it is likely I will have some more horror stories to share. Really a shame, customer service: negative score.

Very professional firm with allocated Letting agent (Andy Parker) providing excellent service. Andy understood the brief very well, did not push unwanted properties or rental price ranges to us, and liaised very well between us and the landlord.
