One of the worst experiences. Dealt with manager, Jemma, who lies and makes out she is new to the business and doesn't understand the process on offering prices to purchase a property. Three times we were advised that if we offered an amount the house would be taken off sale, only for the property to still be advertised. We have dealt with Auston Hawk for two years with rental and sale of a current property and have received nothing but incredible service from Steph and Luke at their branch.
Unfortunately the dream home may be only available through Connells, we would rather lose the opportunity than deal with the deceit.

We are hoping to move at some point this year (2024) as it took nearly half of 2023 to get where we are. It's not looking hopeful. It's taken us 5 months to get nowhere in a chain free move, our vendor is going to pull out. We're not even angry anymore, just let down. The real problem is not Connells, but the conveyancing solicitor they have wrapped our buyers up with (Conveyancing Direct) who are unwilling to complete tasks within their remit. We are unable to fathom why.

Update - we felt pressured into writing our previous review on the day of offer acceptance. From the day of offer acceptance our experience with Connells Andover was nothing but awful. Their communication was simply shocking, it took weeks to get answers to simple questions and they avoided us, our solicitors and mortgage advisor for weeks. The phone is never answered, in fact is actively avoided and they hardly even do the bare minimum. The only saving grace was Ellie who apologised for colleagues and chased our case. We will avoid connells in the future.

Our experience with Connells Andover so far has been great! Being first-time buyers in the current climate can be daunting and where other estate agents have lacked, Connells have excelled. Ellie was a lovely friendly face when viewing our property and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Martin has been amazing in dealing with our offer and acceptance quickly, keeping us updated at every step. Would definitely recommend.

Big thank you to Jake Brewster and Tristan Schwartz with help and aid buying our first house! They truely went above and beyond to help lay out what we needed to do and how to do it when purchasing a property. We new it would be stressful and a difficult time yet they made the whole ordeal easy to digest and far less stressful. They were available for any questions any time and broke down the difficulties we may face in the acquisition in to small reachable goals. Without them we probably would of fallen at the first hurdle but their resolve to help and get it all done in a timely manner really pushed things to get down. We went in not knowing anything but thanks to Jake and Tristan we now know that if we ever wanted to sell or buy another property, we will definitely be using Connells again.

As a first timer tenant here in the UK specially here in Andover, I have zero knowledge about everything. Looking for a house was a difficult task since I had no idea where to look and what to expect. Good thing a friend of ours suggested Connels. Both Cloe and James of Connels were very patient about our concerns and they helped us throughtout the process. I couldn't ask for more. It's a 10/10 experience! I hope they realise how rude they have been, ripping your client off / stripping them of £200 is fairly disgusting. Honest opinion is the company is a shambles, a new tenancy was agreed with my name no longer on the contract because I don’t live at the property with my ex anymore… after all the hassle to get this done, I still receive emails regarding the house? Outstanding rents etc - Quite frankly it’s awful. I don’t need to know there’s rent due, or that there is a test to do on the boiler…. I don’t know how many times I’ve told the company about this. Update spoke to a guy called James, quite rude… promised me a call back today. No call received, he did however tell me there’s apparently 2 tenancy agreements on the house…. Such a helpful bunch of people

Not the best experience unfortunately. Admittedly there was problems with my chain further down and not Connells themselves. The thing that disappointed me was lack of communication. I would call for an update and be told I would be called back and then be chasing a few days later as no one had. I ended up calling the estate agents I was purchasing through and they could usually tell me what the delay was, then I could inform Connells as they were clueless. Not the service I expected.

James Bell is a fantastic letting agent. To say that it was a stressful time was an understatement but James really helped us easing our anxiety. There was a hiccup where we had to be swapped over to a different agent which did delay things a bit. However this is not on James or Connells it’s just one of those things. Fantastic customer service will use again.

Appalling customer service and communication. You have to constantly chase them as no one is ever in the right department. You then get relevant information months later that would have resolved the issue in the first place. Despite giving notice months in advance and vacating the property, I am still being chased for rent that I do not owe. A real shame as they started off brilliantly at the beginning of the tenancy.

I would avoid this estate agent if buying a house. I am not so sure about letting side. Really bad in communicating. You are the one who will always be doing the chasing ups. You will hardly get a call back from them. I fear they treat their clients differently, and sale houses to prefered clients only. This is my experience. I will never go back to them and advice my family friends to do the same.

In the past I have purchased a number of houses for both residential and buy to let purposes. This time my personal circumstances made it a little more complex. I have always found the process painful but Jake did a great job of explaining fully the various options open to me and more importantly keeping me fully updated throughout the entire process. Extremely disappointed by the appalling level of service Connells provided through the second half of our journey. We had no issues with the sale of our property, however the panelled solicitors that Connells use are absolutely appalling and surprisingly Connells do not have any control over them. Connells recommended Premier Property Lawyers to our buyer but due to their lack of competency they resulted in us being 7 weeks delayed and very close to our chain falling through. Every time we asked Connells to contact Premier to chase them, they were unsuccessful in getting hold of them which is shocking that they have no communication with their panelled solicitor. We would ask for updates from Connells and 90% of the time they were unable to provide us with any useful information. Frustratingly the more we were delayed the more often we called and tried to make contact with Martin and would not hear back, even though the person taking the message would confirm and agree that they will call back to provide us with an update. They’re escalation process is atrocious and non existent from a clients point of view. After 7 weeks of delays there was still no sense of priority for our case and every time we asked, Connells were unable to provide us any updates or evidence that someone was working on our case from their escalation process. When confronting Connells with our disappointment, we were told that ‘they’re job is to only sell the house’, conveniently this was not the same attitude they had when they valued our place, they seemed to sell you the dream at the beginning but actually their service in the end was a complete nightmare. I know through past experience that their Basingstoke branch is just as appalling. Their attitude and service across the whole company is shocking and I would strongly recommend not using them.

Avoid this estate agents like the plague. Me and my wife have been renting properties for 12 years without any hassles until we took our most recent tenancy out with Connells. Issues arose the moment we paid our deposit. It started with Connells wanting us to get pay our first months rent before we even moved in, apparently because they account for the 3 day bacs delay (not our problem), then when confronted about the issue we was told we was never asked to pay in advance and they doctored the date on the paperwork, however we have both lots of identical paperwork with different dates as proof. Then once we moved into the property we realised there was no TV signal throughout the property, after consulting James at Connells he said the landlord had agreed to pay a TV ariel engineer to see what the issue was but it would be easier if we contacted them as we knew when we would be available (all verified by email), so we did, and once sorted we presented the invoice for an ariel amplifier which was part of the the ariels integral system (according to the engineer) to Connells who then went on to say the landlord does not have to pay, which was in direct conflict of the first email. Now we find that Connells have also switched our energy suppliers without our consent to Spark Energy. We had already arranged British Gas to take care of our supply, how dare they, with no notification put a bill into our name. This is the worst agency we have ever dealt with. I honestly recommend that anyone reading this considers elsewhere first.

Justin is an honest, very kind and patient Estate Agent, and the agent you want for selling your property. Although I took my house of the market due to personal reasons, Justin was understanding and very kind, if I was to sell my property I would go straight to Connells and Justin, you just do not find honest, kind and professional Estate Agents like Justin. Would highly recommend Connells to sell your property. More people give bad reviews than good, however when something is excellent and beyond expectations, people review. This is why Connells has all five star reviews..

I was dreading having to go through the process of our remortgage as it has always felt very invasive to me in the past but Linda changed that whole experience for me. I felt very relaxed through the whole process, she was very polite, welcoming, efficient and made it all seem so simple. Exceptional in my opinion. We were involved in a very large chain and thought the whole sale was going to fall by the wayside due to some very inept conveyancing at the bottom of the chain. Justin kept me informed daily and even visited two solicitors offices in person to make sure we exchanged on time, I really don’t think anyone else would have done that for me. I came down to Andover, ignorant of its surroundings and community, with the hopes of looking for a place to stay temporarily. After failure upon failure with other estate agents, I ended up making my way to Connells. I ended up meeting a fellow named Oliver and I am very very grateful for his service and kindness; he was very patient with our requests since there was a lot of back and forth communication and hesitation regarding certain properties. And whilst being able to provide a quality service, he also simultaneously informed me of Andover and its community; it honestly felt so genuine and it was as if I was reuniting with an old friend. Best lettings agents out there, definitely read this to help you whether you are a landlord or looking to rent!
I was finding it very hard to let out my properties with other companies such as Belvoir and Austin hawk etc as they got me no where. I had been waiting for weeks/months for them to even get close to letting any out which frustrated me as I was loosing money in the end. I then went to see Ollie and Elizabeth in Connells who were immediately welcoming and made me feel confident knowing that they will do the best they can to help me. Just after 2 days I had Ollie call me saying he has an offer on 1 of my properties which was amazing! and a week later I had a few more offers on both properties. I now have 2 properties that have been let and the tenants have also said to me that Ollie and Elizabeth were very professional, kind and nothing Is too difficult to request..
5 stars for these 2! will definitely come back if I get any more properties needing to be LET.

Great service and communication. I used their mortgage service and am glad I picked them after viewing some properties. As a first time buyer, everything was explained to me and all options were explored.
Paperwork was simple and I felt that I was really taken care of and kept informed throughout the process. Their 'lifetime' service means that I will be using them again and again and I am glad that I'll be going back to them in the future.

Took my depoist money to secure a flat without telling me it was non refundable. Company policy apparently. They are just a money grabbing Estate Agent with no care in the world for their Clients or Vendors.
Worst Estate I have ever known. I am also an ex employee for Connells and I have seen the way they do business with my own eyes and it's horrifying!!!

I asked Connells to come out and give me a rental valuation. From the outset I found them to be extremely professional. Elizabeth provided us with all the information we needed as first time Landlords. I decided to put the property up to let with Connells and within an hour of Elizabeth leaving the property, Demi called to arrange a visit so she knew the property before she showed tenants around. Their marketing strategy is professional and clearly works as my property was let in less than 24 hours! I found it very easy to get all the paper work side sorted out with the team and nothing was too much trouble for them. Cannot recommend them enough! Useless, just useless, very pushy on sales, I view two houses in one day and it had barely been 2 hours and I had a phone call chasing a decision! Awful conduct really to be honest, wouldn't recommend, was late... twice. Because other people were running late as well I was offered to view the house with them.... sorry I don't think so. I had three cold calls after the viewing by different people, I had told them on the fi at call I wasn't interested!! Very pushy! Look else where first
