Two years later, and I’m still reeling from the trauma of this house sale and purchase. Connells’ incompetence and utter lack of professionalism turned what should have been an exciting milestone into a six-month nightmare. A constant stream of misinformation, coupled with a litany of catastrophic failures, left us in a desperate position. We were forced to slash our house price by £10k to placate a buyer who, unbeknown to us, was living abroad, adding endless complications to an already dreadful process. As our sums had already been done, we needed to find the £10k shortfall ourselves.
By Christmas, our family of five—plus two dogs—was left hosting the holiday season in a hotel, with all our belongings packed into four trucks and a mortgage offer on the verge of expiring on Boxing Day. Connells’ gross mismanagement forced us into a chaotic exchange and completion the day prior to Christmas Eve, making it the most stressful experience of our lives and everyone else in the chain.
The fact that Connor and Sinead are still employed there is astonishing. We were warned about Connells by neighbors but, unfortunately, had already signed up. Take it from me: avoid Connells at all costs. They’ll turn your dream move into an absolute disaster.

Zero stars. From my experience, would like others to be aware, so the same doesnt happen to them.
Agreed a fee, inclusive of VAT. The fee amount was put higher than what was agreed on the contract. I took part responsibility as signed it, however when I was asked to sign by Conor, he hadn't filled this in at this point. I emailed him to address this, which was ignored.
Their starting fee was £3,600 which was extremely high, and I was going instruct another agent until a lower fee was agreed. Also, whilst signing the contract, I didn't realise that their contract length is 26 weeks. This wasn't discussed, but again been advised it's in the contract.
Wanted a quote from the conveyancing team they used, don't sign the first part of the contract unless you're instructing them without a quote beforehand.
Communication was poor, I terminated my contract with them and 2 members of the team, Peter and Sinead advised me that as they introduced people, they would still get the commission if I sell my property to people who have never stepped foot in my house. This has been sent to me via email. Been advised from their compliance team, that this is not the case.
Overall, very poor experience and I wouldn't believe everything you're told during the instruction. Make sure you read the whole contract before signing.
Best not to sign it there and then, and read it all.
I believed that i was signing what was agreed, however this wasn't the case.
Only positive, Sam who did a viewing at my property was professional.
Comment from connells compliance received 18/11 asking me to contact them - I have already raised these issues with them and been advised that I can take this further with the ombudsman now.

They should learn some basic customer service etiquettes. Placed an offer but didn't hear back, called them for a second viewing, followed up 3 times but they didn't arrange and kept saying they would call back and we gave up after waiting for two weeks.
Same happened with the second property we liked they were offering. Called for viewing, they assured a viewing but didn't confirmed. Called 2nd time, 3rd time and they gave a time but I didn't receive any confirmation. Called again twice next day and they just said viewing is not possible as they were not able to speak with vendor.
Never had this kind of experience from Connells except this branch. Pathetic and careless attitude.

Tau Vinh Phong was absolutely fantastic and extremely attentive!
Just Bought my first house and Tau was very helpful and informative as well as kind and understanding as we went through this process! He has continuously being honest and upstanding even when we haven’t understood a detail he was more than happy to explain us the details again! If my family and I decide to buy another house I hope we can work with Tau again or be lucky enough to find someone as exceptional as he is to help us! He’s is a great asset for the company!

Dreadful service. Booked an appointment for a valuation a week in advance. Arranged baby sitter and dog walker. They renaged on the appointment, didn't call back when they promised (3 times). Left us high and dry after we travelled 2 hours to meet them. Wouldn't trust them to sell coals to Newcastle. No wonder their reviews are so poor. Very unprofessional. Who's managing this bunch of incompetents?

Quite disappointed with the services received. After that have presented us with an incorrect solicitor quote we chose them and we had to pay more by the end of the process. Then when we had to go to the house and make some measurements, the agent was 30 min late and arrive with no keys of the properties. And on the date of the completion, the branch manager, who was our point of contact throughout the whole process, decided to take the day off. Not recommending.

Whilst we understand there are external factors that contribute to a house's value, we believe our property was greatly overestimated in value initially, which led to unrealistic expectations. We were told by Connor that there would be an open house within a couple of weeks, with many existing potential buyers looking for a similar property that Connells had lined up. This wasn't the case and we had very few viewings initially, causing us to have to drop the price (on two occasions) from Connor's initial evaluation.
When we did have viewings, it was different agents that would show potential buyers around, some of which didn't know the necessary information about the property and we as sellers had to correct the agent on multiple occasions. Kieron also parked in neighbours' car parking spaces multiple times.
On a number of occasions, Sinead (who was dealing with the sale) went on annual leave and during this time it felt our property wasn't handed over to anyone, as we received little to no communication around these times.
Unfortunately, our first buyer dropped out due to a contractual clause (this wasn't the fault of Connells). We stated to Connells that this clause existed and to make any future potential buyers aware of this, so nobody else dropped out. However, when our eventual buyer was getting close to exchange a query around this was raised and they were unaware of the clause. This lead to much delay in the sale of our property. Thankfully, it didn't end up causing them to drop out due to communication from our solicitor. Around this time, we had to consistently speak with Connells to chase up, rather than them chasing themselves and then communicating any updates to us.
It's been a stressful time and I don't believe Connells helped in this. I would not recommend them, they are absolutely not worth it.

I’m giving 5 stars purely based on my experience with Tau. As a mortgage broker he was thorough, reassuring, and generally lovely. I felt secure with him dealing with our mortgage and he answered every little query (and there were a LOT of them) no matter how silly or trivial they seemed and he did this with patience and empathy. I would not hesitate to go back to Tau for further advice.

Won't let customers view properties without seeing their mortgage broker, even when a mortgage broker had already been seen within a different estate agent. This had been explained to several members of staff at Connells and the amount that could be borrowed.
Despite not wanting to, an appointment was booked in with Connells mortgage broker, but he cancelled at the last minute and never rearranged.
My daughter and her partner had to purchase without using Connells because staff wouldn't let them view any of the properties they wanted to see.
I then tried to view and had the same response. I purchased through a different estate agent in Milton Keynes. I even explained to the Connells staff that I had a large deposit saved from the sale of my house and was not in a chain because I was living in rented accommodation whilst I searched for an appropriate property.
I feel sorry for those people who have their property on the market with Connells.

Very bad experience. Malicious practices - from keeping the advers after the offer is being accepted, to not holding the line in appointments and recommending overpriced and overloaded solicitors.
Please read all reviews on all sites before proceeding with them,and please note that some reviews are fake or biased.

As potential buyers we’ve had really poor service from these agents. We visited a property and made an offer. We were told the branch manager would need to call us to discuss the offer first (not sure why) and the call never came. We called to chase a few days later and were told that they are trying to get hold of the vendor. Minutes later in the same call they said they had put the offer forward but the vendor wanted time to think about it. Not convinced. Over a week later and 10 days after making the offer and we’ve had absolutely no communication to update us on the offer, their attempts to get a response or anything. Completely left in the dark and now we’re at the point of retracting our offer. If your house is taking forever to sell then the lack of communication with buyers may explain why. They have still found plenty of time to call every other day to try and get us to market our own property with them!

I was very pleased with the professionalism of the team at Connells Oxley Park, Milton Keynes. From the start of the process, with the valuation of my property, the branch manager Sinead O’Donovan, presented the benefits of choosing Connells over other agents and her communication was exemplary, acting as a conduit between the buyer both sets of solicitors and myself. On a number of occasions she went as far as to undertake the role of the buyers solicitors as well, as their input was found to be lacking throughout. This all round performance more than made up the shortfall and I would be more than happy to choose Connells Oxley Park again. A five star service all round.

My experience with Connells has been exceptional from the start to completion! I would like to commend Edward Percival for his professionalism and wide range of knowledge of the market. Being new to the country and new to the mortgage process, my wife and I found ourselves very comfortable with Edward as he spent time in making sure we understood every step of the process.

I've always done my own research for the mortgage products in the past. As an owner of a property for past seven years, I've fair amount of experience of the right mortgage products. I had to go through an agent this time due to the nature of the product I needed. I did my research again and met a few agents, freelancers and others. Among them all, Edward Percival came across as the most able, honest, forthright, and clear advisor to me. He has been patient and helpful throughout this stressful process. As at the first time, two years ago, the Connells mortgage advisor, of Connells Estate agents in Oxley park, Edward Percival has been very helpful and efficient, taking into account my needs and requests when looking to find a new mortgage provider for me; my mortgage was up for renewal. This time my needs had changed, and Ed again came up with the right product, to accommodate my new situation. Ed supported me with my correspondence with the new mortgage provider and their solicitor. Solicitors require more and more financial information these days, before a mortgage request is approved. A new mortgage has now been set up entirely to my satisfaction. I happily recommend the Connells estate agents in Oxley Park and their mortgage advisor Edward Percival.

We have had not so good feedback about Connells so despite their local branch being a stone throw away from our previous home, we never approached them when we wanted to sell our place. To our surprise, the Branch Manager approached us and offered to help as one of our deals had badly fallen through (not through Connells), so we thought to give it a go. Took a little longer than expected but eventually our deal closed successfully and we are now happy in our new home. The Branch Manager, Charlotte was very efficient and patient. Definitely 5 star service to the staff and Branch Manager.
