Through out our whole stay at the property they’ve always been so kind and helpful, at one occasion I had a leak and they got someone out straight away to solve the problem, Every time we’ve had inspections they’ve always been friendly and professional with matters. As most will know the housing market is a challenging, stressful environment with many applications for each property.
Having looked for a couple of months we felt just 'one of a crowd' with Estate Agents wherever we went but when a property appeared marketed by Davies and Davies it was like a breath of fresh air.
A quick call with Kirsty at the Trowbridge Office established whether we would be suitable applicants, a viewing was arranged especially to suit our availability and all was 'agreed' within 36 hours.
The viewing was superbly managed by Georgia and all the application paperwork went back with her that day.
If we weren't suitable applicants I felt Kirsty would have told us when we first spoke, so no wasted time viewing properties needlessly and more time to focus on finding the next property.
The Davies and Davies team, based on our experience, are heads and shoulders above their peers in Trowbridge....we actually felt as if we 'stood out from the crowd' rather than being 'just one of the crowd'.
That was down to Kirstys' experience and professionalism, as she spotted a client that she felt met her customers needs and acted appropriately.

We have recently moved our letting portfolio to Davies & Davies. The whole process was seamless - handled so professionally well be Sian and the team. We have even managed to place new tenants into a property whilst enjoying a holiday overseas. The team took total control of everything. We had some email communication so that we could just verify that we were totally happy with everything but really everything was smoothly dealt with by Davies & Davies and our new tenants were safely installed on the arranged day. Excellent first impressions which we hope will continue as we progress our relationship with the whole of the lettings team.

We are now a few months in and continue to be impress by the Davies & Davies team. Statements and payments to ourself are prompt and efficiently handled.
All dealings with Mark and the maintenance team have been painless. They keep us fully informed, which we like, but Mark does a fantastic job of taking the worry and stress away from us as landlords. He has the interest of both the tenant and landlord in mind but sets himself to resolving any matter in a professional way and to bring a resolution in an effective and timely manner.
Should any member of the team not be available to take your call everyone appears to be working together and there is clearly a great computer system in place with detailed notes for any team member to be able to pick up and assist.

While looking to buy a house I have found Davies and Davies to be one of the best agencies. My wife and I have been really impressed with their agents (Charlotte and Ryan). I have contacted the lettings team (Kirsty) to view a property twice. First time I was told I would be put in the waiting list opening in around 2 weeks and that if I missed the phone call I might 'miss out'. I never got a call back.
After I have emailed them, they apologised saying they already had lot of people on the waiting list and the viewing list was full. Fair enough. So I saw another property online and contacted them promptly. I was told I would be put on the waiting list and that they could not guarantee a viewing until after a month, expired yesterday. Now the property has disappeared from the market and I have not heard anything back (again). I am unclear why they have such long waiting times for viewings (not indicated on rightmove.co.uk or their website), but it is quite stressful for people looking to rent. So overall I give 2 stars as I can not comment on how good they really are but my experience so far has been disappointing with the communication and updates. In the meantime I have found another place as, even if there were nice properties on Davies and Davies website, I did not want to contact them again to hear I would be put on the waiting list for a property opening in 2022!

We had negotiators from three local estate agents visit to give us a valuation and quote. On the whole they were knowledgeable, friendly, and their quotes all around the same figure. However, as soon as Nick from Davies & Davies visited, we knew we wanted him to present our house to the people of Wiltshire! He had a real passion for job, and an enthusiasm that was infectious! He seemed to have a real knowledge of the exact area the house was in - as if he had been living in our house for years without us knowing! Nick did a fantastic job with the photos, and his video was a great bonus. Without a doubt, Nick was the reason we went with Davies & Davies.
We had received an accepted an offer within about 4 days of the house going up for sale and communication during this time was pretty good, keeping us updated of viewings etc.
However, once we had accepted the offer, there was a lack of communication and having not heard anything for 6 weeks I had to chase for an update. I have no idea if this is me being impatient, or just poor communication from the agency.
Once I chased I then received an update and also advised that we were now under the wing of Louise.
Louise was a Godsend! When we hit issues down the chain, she would endlessly chase up and down the chain for me, patiently replying to all of my emails, all whilst maintaining her friendly, professional demeanour. I cannot thank Louise enough for her help, and even replying to a couple of my emails when she was on a day off. Thank you Louise, you are the star of D&D Trowbridge!

I used Davies & Davies to rent a house in Hilperton, Trowbridge. They were very professional and were exceptionally good when it came to responding to any queries about the property/referencing etc - and always most courteous.
The only negative as far as I am concerned was that they were not present to 'hand over' the property at commencement of the Tenancy (like keys, boiler controls etc) - but perhaps that should have been the landlords function.

So I wanted to rent a flat, the flat was lovely and perfect. However very dissapointed that I never got the flat because I couldn’t provide my tax return due to COVID. Bearing in mind I payed for the holding deposit of £130. Then they asked me if I could pay 6months upfront deposit every six months which I just thought was so disrespectful just because I haven’t been self employed for more than a year, not forgetting that we were on lockdown a whole year so I couldn’t set up my business! Sent proof of earnings and income also. Never got my money back, disgusted with the service in entirety. Won’t ever be considering using them again

Beware : As sellers we had high hopes from the Trowbridge branch but we had a very poor experience and felt badly let down by them on the sale of our property.
Our sale fell through right on exchange. We’d been wary of the prospective buyers from day one but had been given reassurances by Davies and Davies and we put our trust in the agent. How wrong we were to do this. They failed to keep on top of the transaction and in the end we ended up hundreds of pounds out of pocket in legal fees.
When they began remarketing our property they started arguing with us and viewers alike over their commission even before any offers had been made as we had a second agent. Viewers then started making us aware about how unhelpful and indeed rude they had been which sealed their fate.
Luckily, we ended up selling through the other agent.
As a prospective buyer they also promised to keep me updated on properties coming to the market but again they haven’t done this.
So my advice is avoid them. I certainly will be.

Started looking for our first home at the start of the year, around February time I believe. Had been looking at lots of new builds but when myself and my partner found our beautiful apartment on Rightmove it was meant to be. Sent an enquiry that night and by the next day we had a response from Charlotte from Davies and Davies and had arranged an appointment for a viewing that day.
I fell in love with the apartment on the first viewing and since that day have viewed it around 6 or 7 times to show all our families. I just want to say a massive thank you to Charlotte for helping Luke and I find our dream first home and dealing with my anxiety and stress of the house move. I also want to thank Charlotte massively for allowing us to view the apartment on different occasions. We did not sell our property through Davies and Davies Estate Agents, but we did buy our property through them. Our mistake was not to engage Davies and Davies to sell ours as well. We found that Davies and Davies offered the support we needed in purchasing our property, even when it required a handover of keys after 6pm. Estate Agents are only as good as their staff, which in this case we must mention Davies and Davies New Homes Negotiator, Charlotte Geary. In all our conversations with her we have found her to be both professional and committed to supporting our purchase to make our transition into our new property as smooth as possible. Charlotte kept in touch with us and always got back to us when we reached out to her for advice or information.
In our opinion, the most common complaint we have experienced and heard from friends, colleagues and relatives about estate agents, is that they do not keep you informed or do not get back to you in a timely manner when you contact them. Charlotte proved this belief cannot be apportioned to all estate agents. She is a credit to Davies and Davies and clearly demonstrates the behaviours clients wish to see when purchasing and selling properties.
We would recommend talking to Davies and Davies before making a decision on which agent to use to sell your property.

A disappointing house purchase experience with Davies and Davies. Since October - completion in April we heard from D&D twice. We didn’t even hear from them on completion day.
Luckily, Paxton’s, who sold our property were incredible and gave us (and our buyers) weekly updates on the both the sale and purchase. I have no doubt that had we of put our house on the market with Davies and Davies our buyer’s would have gotten fed up with the lack of communication and would have pulled out months ago.
The people in the office are nice but I don’t believe they have the time to provide a full service. On the two house viewings we did with D&D we didn’t receive brochures for either property and for one viewing the vendor wasn’t even expecting us. Very embarrassing for all parties.

The initial set up is prompt, rates are very competitive and every effort is made to accommodate us as landlords. Property inspections are frequent and thorough with regular reports received and well documented. Philomena and the maintenance department are highly efficient providing contractors quickly for every issue which arises and the ongoing aftercare is excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The contractors costs are very reasonable and I have had no cause to be anything other than very satisfied with all works carried out. Poor estate agents with only one thing on thier minds, your money. Before handing the keys back to the agency i asked a member to come around and have a final check to see if the property was up to standard and if anything needed doing, the estate agent told me that everything was fine apart from a few little bits that i sorted on the same day. After handing the keys back and requiring the release of our deposit they said that they need to get the property professionally cleaned, replace all the counters in the kitchen and replace curtains in one the bedrooms. Yet the property was spotless, cleaner then it was when we moved in. And when we moved in the curtains were already dirty with foot prints and grime, so we changed them straight away and put them back up when we left.
And if you need maintenance done then good luck! The cords on one of the sash windows snapped causing the window to no longer open and being such terrible wood the window had warped causing it to sit on the sill rather then fully close, thank god that happened in the summer and not winter otherwise id be left freezing for weeks.

Davies and Davies (Mark) stormed into the development became very aggressive and continued to hurl foul language and abuse at his Client! Absolutely disgusting. AVOID at all cost worst experience in my life.
When I moved in to start with and had an issue they sorted straight away but that soon changed the fridge packed and they was in no rush to sort it it was only when I threatened to withhold rent they sorted it. mould was building up in the bathroom it had taken them months to sort it reported it several times front door wouldn’t close and and seal properly several attempts at repair but just needed a new door but landlord apparently didn’t want to do it the place had never been decorated carpets was old and worn out the garden well if you all it a garden more like a bog pit it was nowhere worth the money they was charging for it at the time.
The staff well what a shower s#%t in my honest opinion very rude blunt and couldn’t care about your situation. getting the deposit back may as well forget about that they take there as long as they want and try charging for cleaning even tho the property was in better shape then when I got it charge a percentage towards decoration even tho most of the wall was marked as heavily marked when I moved in and to top it all they can charge you for this and don’t even have to do any of it after the deduction what a absolute bunch of joker so be very weary before you decide to go through them

They are rude and will not listen, they have no time for tenants, only for the landlords. Very incompetent and unprofessional, the maintenance side is a complete joke, when and if when they do complete the work it will be carried out to substandard level. Forget getting your deposit back, you will be charged for cleaning even if the property is clean, they picked up on dust inside radiators!!??? Please avoid at all costs or be very careful and record every mark etc or they will charge you for damage that was already there.

First thing i would say is stay away unless you wanna go through alot of stress because they take forever to fix problems if at all... staff and management of the lettings team in Trowbridge are awful no understanding of customer service at all... even went as far as lieing about the way things were left after my tenancy ended. My thermostat was broken for over two months and i was told 'its not a priority and its summer months so you dont need it' far as im concerned im paying to live in a flat things should be in working order. Not to mention on arrival to rhe flat i was faced with 100 problems from day one.. with poor lighting to flat to fire alarms falling off the ceeling grease and dirt build up in the food cupboards and thats just to mention a few... after my tenancy ended i felt like i was speaking a different language to these people i finally rang the assistant manager as the manager is on holiday apparently.. and asked if i could have my landlords details to which she said id have to write in for that so i explained i will do that with immediate effect and if she could get back to me asap as she was sat in front if the computer, after some time i called back to chase the email and phone call i requested and she then said in a very sarcastic voice 'i got 21 days to reply to your email im busy' clearly trying to make my life harder because they know they are in the wrong and dont want me to expose them for what they are doing!
To top it off they expecting me to pay £150 quid for cleaning that should have been done before i moved in but the fact i done it to high standard and they still wanting to charge me is completely insulting.. i cant actually good to say about them.

Not friendly staff ,not helpful on phone.promises of phoning back,never happened. They have a problem with people who are on disability benefit. Or any benefit.
I have rented for over 25 years ,and never had this sort of service?

After 10 years of successful letting, as landlords and as sellers, our experience with both departments at Davies and Davies has been excellent. They have been efficient and friendly - a pleasure to deal with.

If there was a scoring guide that was less that poor i would have chosen that. As above the Trowbridge branch are untrustworthy, rude, patronising and out right lie to you. I was discriminated against when trying to buy a property because of my age (25) and was told that due to my age, i couldn't possibly afford the house, even after i presented them with my mortgage agreement and that they wanted to know where i had got my deposit from, which frankly is none of their business. I was told that because the other person offering on the house was a regular customer of theirs, they had to push their offer through because their job is to find the right buyer for their client and they know this person well...... um no surely it's to make the most money for your client?!
They never call you back when promised, slander other competitors in the area and will never let you speak to the manager! They slipped up on their lies on many occasions which makes me question their integrity and wonder if they even put any of my offers in, in the first place, especially as i had to provide mortgage proof before i could even make an offer but then by my last offer they were adamant they hadn't received it- so surely i wasn't allowed to make an offer??!! No wonder the younger generation are finding it hard to get on the property ladder when we are up against agents like this!!
I will say that i have previously visited the Corsham branch and they were totally different so maybe Mr Davies should reconsider the staff he has in the Trowbridge branch- except Julie- she was lovely. It's a shame that couldn't be said for the rest of them!

Rude, liars, unreliable, untrustworthy and out right arrogant! Sam in the lettings office is incredibly rude aswell. After being in the property for just under a month, we are starting to notice how unprofessional this 'company' is not only are we still waiting on repairs promised before we moved in, lied to us about features of the property to hide things from us, lying on the inventory, rude when you phone the office, sending people round with out notifying us so they can just walk in whilst im still in bed having been on nights. STAY AWAY FROM THESE UNHELPFUL, LYING, RUDE jokes for estate agents!
