My wife and had an excellent experience selling our house in Northwood through Gibbs Gillespie. We would highly recommend them.
Michael Beaumont was fantastic throughout the whole process. He made us feel really looked after and in very safe hands. Over the last 3 years he had visited our house on 3 occasions to give updates on its value as works were being completed, and what would or would not help in a future sale. When the time finally did come to sell he helped us through the whole process, setting out the best pricing strategy, and frequently checking in with us to explain what was going on. I am convinced his skills in negotiating with our eventual buyer gained us an offer above the asking price and covered Gibbs Gillespie's fees.
He remained hands on from the very initial contact through to completion of the sale.
A special mention also goes to Faye Lewis who found and organised viewings. Again, very communicative, always keeping us in the loop, and helping with other admin tasks such as when we needed documents printed and certified, which made the whole process easy and straight forward.
Lastly, Danielle Gennard was incredibly proactive once a sale had been agreed and helped immensely in pushing the exchange of contracts and final completion through by liaising with us, our buyer, and our respective solicitors.

I would like to share my experience with regards to my efforts to find a house to rent with Gibbs Gillespie Northwood. I was firstly contacted by Daniella, after my online enquiry about a flat in Northwood. Even though this property has been secured beforehand by another tenant, she was able to identify and propose to me an even better alternative, managing to achieve through prompt communication and negotiations a rent according to my budget restrictions, that satisfied both the landlord and myself, in less than 24hours! Another asset of the agency, is Mark who was, along with Daniella, responding to my queries promptly and facilitating all the reference checks process. Looking forward to moving in my new house in a couple of days!

I have been with Gibbs Gillespie Northwood for almost 3 years as a landlord. Throughout my dealings with GGN, I have had no cause for complaint as they endeavour to keep me informed throughout my contract with my tenants.
Recently the tenants living in my property made the decision to leave. Lettings Manager Mark Lander hit the ground running with finding me a new tenant and found one to move in swiftly after the previous tenants had moved out with no disruption. I was kept informed at all stages of the process from organising viewings, checking references and inventories, and drawing up contracts. I am also thrilled that Mark has found me yet another wonderful tenant, going above and beyond.

I have been a satisfied customer for over five years, having rented a property through this agency. I provided timely notice and vacated the property as agreed. However, a month after moving out, I began receiving messages demanding payment for June, which I did not owe.
I immediately contacted their Northwood office, and a representative promised to return my call, but never did. I received another message regarding the payment and reached out to my landlord, who confirmed that he had informed the agency that I was not responsible for this amount.
When I called the office again, the representative I spoke with was quite rude and showed no interest in resolving the issue, suggesting instead that it might be a system error. Despite my attempts to resolve this, I received a third message, followed by calls asking when I would pay the outstanding rent.
I have repeatedly contacted both the landlord and the agency, providing emails and messages as proof, yet the staff remains indifferent. This situation has disrupted my work, forcing me to explain myself in front of colleagues, which is entirely unacceptable.
As someone in a senior role, I find this level of customer service appalling. If my company treated clients in this manner, we would have no business left. If this issue persists, I will consider seeking legal advice.

Great experience as a seller. My first point of contact was Will, who had to deal with several problems and ongoing delays caused by my previous solicitor, but he was helpful and patient throughout. We'd been trying to sell our Mothers flat for 3 years, when we chose for a second time, to try an alternative agent. I only wish we'd chosen Gibbs Gillespie at the beginning, as I'm sure we would have sold so much sooner. Once they found a buyer, they allocated a person, Danielle Gennard to oversee the actual process through to completion. She was absolutely fantastic, and really moved things on at a pace. Fay moved the furniture left at the house and in the garden to make the house look more appealing to buyers.
Whenever I rang and spoke to either Michael or Matthew they always dealt with my queries appropriately and were polite and easy to chat to.
Danielle Gennard was absolutely top class, she worked so hard as our Move Manager. Started very well and sold our place quickly. purchase took a bit longer which was down to us. Later as the chain progressed another person at Gibbs took over who created a bit of confusion trying to force an exchange date when solicitors were not ready and not communicating this very well. awful experience as a buyer. please take your call and stay away if you can as a prospective buyer (or tenants ! i suspect). (as buyers or tenants we are not giving them business, are we?)
if you can't, please remember few things.
we had been looking for a property to move into and were looking for no chain property. we found a property (though a bit over-priced, could negotiate the price) through gibbs gillespie, and we were told that the property is chain free. branch manager morgan kept saying it is no chain or they haven't been informed but after 6 months of the process (delays likely due to chain they were asking if i can wait for few more weeks). how an estate agent been not informed about a property with chain.? as a first time buyers we made mistake and trusted them (never trust them, if the sellers solicitor is not answering, suspect there is chain even if they say no chain), always take these things in writing from them. if you are okay to wait for 6 months to buy a property, you can trust them, i am sure they are trust worthy for that and they will make all possible ways to delay the process as much as they want.
fair on their part, why would they help buyers we are not getting them business, are we ?
answering calls, they will only answer if you tell them you will pull out, otherwise they will not reply to calls and emails.
Finally after 6 months (with awful last 2 months), could get the keys.
So only trust them if you have time and you could wait for 6 months to buy your first property.
I also heard from others that they sometimes accept 2 offers simultaneously and don't let each prospective buyers know, and ultimately goes with buyer with highest bid and secured mortgage. I don't know how true this is but as per my experience can't be ignored. (Unfortunately I heard this after I started my buying process otherwise I could have stopped my self there and then.
If you want to make your first buying experience pleasent and memorable please avoid if you can.

Gibbs Gillespie Northwood branch recently handled the sale of a local property for my appointed representative. Morgan Withers the branch manager was the gentleman who conducted the sale, "gentleman" being the operative word. His conduct throughout the process of selling the property was exceptionally professional. They say you cannot put an old head on young shoulders but if you had had the same experience as me then you would be forgiven for thinking that this is a fallacy. His knowledge and experience he demonstrated could easily have been taken as coming from someone two or three decades more senior than him. Telephone calls and emails were returned promptly, I don't ever recall having to chase him up on anything. Advice from him on the queries I had throughout the selling process was spot on.
His staff were equally impressive too. Senior Sales Administrator Hollie Byrne prepared the marketing material exquisitely and wrote up a colourful property description in pros I had never heard before. The enhanced photos in the brochures were exceptional, very detailed and included the Ofsted's ratings for local schools which I had not seen in any of the other local estate agents' literature I was considering for the sale! Faye Lewis also performed superbly in showing potential buyers around, some wanting to visit several times, but alas, nothing was a bother for her. Again communication from her was excellent whilst maintaining the politeness and friendliness I experienced from Morgan, Holly and other staff answering the phones at the branch. To top it all off I received the price I wanted for the property in a relatively short space of time not least of which I think was attributable to Morgan's good communication with the prospective buyers.
The bottom line is, if you want an optimal and seemless experience in selling your property, hand it over to Gibbs Gillespie and sit back and relax. Well done and thank you Morgan, Holly, Faye and anyone else that was involved at the Northwood branch that I did not have the pleasure to be introduced to! All the best.

What I initially thought would be a straightforward transaction became more complicated with competing bidders - one of whom was overseas, an incoming bill for some costly work undertaken by the freeholder just at the time of sale, a deadline from the buyer's lender and of course, various delays due to Covid19 and the stamp duty changes. When I finally decided to move from a shared house into a flat only for me and my partner I found one that I really liked and it was being advertised by Gibbs Gillespie.
When I called them they were in a meeting but few minutes later Mr Thomas Ascott gave me a call back. He quickly understood my needs and we managed to arrange a viewing that would mostly fit my schedule.
During the viewing he was quite acknowledgable and showed genuine interest in our search.
We had tried to book another viewing with him for a different property but we decided not to proceed as we really liked the first one we saw.
We made an offer and while waiting for the process I requested to have a second viewing on the property. And again he was there patiently waiting for us to take measurements of the flat.
Later on I had other requested in regards to the flat and he followed up immediately.
The team seems to be really good and Mr Thomas Ascott has shown he is a committed professional always whiling to help and get the best for both tenant and landlord, well landlady in this case.

We have nothing but praise for Morgan at Gibbs. He sold our house in a month at 97% of the asking price which is nothing short of a miracle in this current climate! He impressed us from the very start, he came for his first meeting with us armed with all the statistics on our areas sales, land registry details and our old EPC. The rate offered was competitive /comparable to some less professional agencies so it is worth making enquiries. During the whole process Morgan was always available to talk and communicated with solicitors and other estate agents to hurry the chain along. Michael Beaumont was the valuations manager that worked with me to sell my property. He was a great asset and did not stop until the property was sold.
I had many issues with the buyer which took much longer than expected but Michael gave me great advice in order to sell the property.
He is truly an exceptional asset to Gibbs and I would highly recommend him specifically when buying or selling your property.

Gibbs Northwood did a great job selling my property. Dan managed the sale and the whole process was relatively seemless - communication was excellent, all parties were kept in the loop and on move day even my buyer praised Dan's help.
This is in contrast to another Northwood agency who I initially engaged (Robsons), they only managed to get me a few viewings, of which i got little feedback. The property I moved into was sold by Robsons and on moving in day they weren't even aware that i was completing,- I feel I'd get better customer attention when buying a bar of chocolate than from buying a house from this agent.
In summary, Dan/Gibbs did a great job and I'm pleased I switched agents, I'd highly recommend them to anyone selling a property in the area.

No after sales service at all and they don't disclose any of the properties issues before moving in like no working showers!! They give your details to energy companies without bringing this to your attention in the lease thereby cause endless issues. Also fail to disclose rent increases hidden in their leases and do not inspect the property pre move in to make sure it is clean a habitable. Don't trust anything and read everything!!!

Genuine 1 star review.
We were in the process of buying through Gibbs when the HomeBuyers report suggested the Property was of non standard build. We didn't want to proceed if that was the case but when I asked the agent if he could confirm if the report was correct, they took 3 days to come back to me and claimed to be completely oblivious of the fact it was of non standard construction. The part I really didn't like was when the agent claimed that the owners and apparently the neighbors weren't aware of this either.... Clearly, they did all know that it was of a non standard build and it would have been on Gibbs' system when they conducted the initial valuation of the property.
Every other local agent and structural engineer I spoke to was able to tell me instantly that all of the houses on that particular road were of non standard build.
There was a lack of transparency from Gibbs which led to wasted time/solicitor fees for all parties involved.

I have been looking for a place to rent for myself and my son over the Summer and am using every agent under the sun to do so. One of those companies has been 2 locations of Gibbs Gillespie. I haven't had much time with Freya but she is absolutely lovely and keen to do well by both the letter and lettee. Stuart has been handling a negotiation and I really appreciate how he communicates including how well he gives constructive feedback but more importantly how well he listens, which is really a dying art form. My longest "relationship" with GG starts with Julian who has been there from the beginning of my search. In addition to great communication, he is fantastic at following up which I've really needed as I lead a very busy life and he does it without making me feel guilty for not always being able to do so myself. An open day was arranged and the negotiations dealt with professionally by Michael from the Northwood branch. Once the sale was agreed we were then transferred to Danielle from the Move Centre. Paperwork was a bit of an issue for us as the house was vacant (and we lived 1Hr+ away from the property) but both Michael and Danielle were able to assist without making us feel troublesome. I liked dealing with Gibbs Gillespie who acted as our estate agents when we sold my parents’ flat.
Firstly, Gibbs took steps to provide proper valuation comparisons for similar properties so that it was easy to agree on an asking price. This was helpful. We were pleased with all aspects of the marketing for the property including the photographs and descriptions.
Our phone calls were answered promptly and all the office staff were extremely helpful. Any messages left were always passed on.
Conveniently, Gibbs Gillespie could refer us to their firm of Conveyancers which saved us time finding one ourselves.
Communication was excellent. I was always kept up to date with numbers of viewings and offers made. I received weekly updates of feedback from potential buyers, so we would know whether there was something significantly wrong, for example with our asking price.
This was reassuring. Throughout the sale process, Gibbs Gillespie kept in touch and helped with any queries arising such as furniture and fittings remaining.
Our Sales Manager was Michael Beaumont, and our Director before him was Steve Hyams. I would certainly recommend Gibbs Gillespie to others.

We had decided to move to Spain with our two young children and selling our home in Northwood was, among all the other moving issues, our priority. We should have gone with Gibbs from the beginning, but we were mislead and promised things that were not realistic.

I purchased a property with Gibbs Gillespie Northwood earlier this year, and I have to say it was handled by Oliver Squires with great tact and diplomacy and managed to keep the three way business relationship going.
It was the most difficult purchase I have experienced, that went on for months, from lost paperwork to the vendors pulling out of the sale twice. Oliver handled a very stressful sale with great patience and tenacity, which paid off in the end, with all parties happy.
All I can say is, to those that question why we pay agent fees, that it is worth every penny to pay for experience in handling adverse situations and people. James at Northwood with the team there did a stress free and worry free sale for us. We have a two year old son and we were concerned how the viewings were going to take place without our son having to pack all his toys and not unsettle him in his routine. The branch team organised a viewing day, which took place on a Saturday, we went out for the day and didn't have to worry. Which if it had been done individual days and times we feel we would not of got such a good response and would of been unsettling for our son.

I had several agents round to value the house on deciding to re-locate. Morgan from Gibbs Gillespie stood out head and shoulders above the rest. It was a pleasure to work with him and Lucy. I always felt that I was a priority to them. The house was sold within 6 days of being marketed, when those buyers could not fulfil, Morgan re-marketed the house and sold it again within 24 hours, and for 15 thousand more.
