I had a terrible experience two times over with Hamptons.
The first was the Clapham branch which failed to inform me for weeks of any update after placing an offer during the final stages for a place to rent. I had to personally reach out two weeks post submitting the offer to be told I had lost out. Seems a little slack for me.
Then the worst of it, the Pimlico Branch, particularly an agent accurately named Henry Douch. I wrote to this one four times in order to get one simple viewing for a flat I was very keen on, just across the road from me. After finally managing to get one, he had absolutely zero knowledge or information on the apartment and seemed to "wing" the details, of which I knew more of from the advert. Despite that, the apartment was beautiful and so I followed up by requesting an offer form on numerous occasions, even though he said he'd send it right over after the viewing. Then, after putting in a very generous offer (£200 above asking price, almost perfect move-in date, long tenancy, etc.) I again had no response for over a week and so had to follow-up even more times. After getting worn out from the incomprehensibly poor communication, I decided to visit in branch to confront him. "A rabbit caught in headlights" wouldn't even justify it. I was told he was "just replying to my email" (yuh-huh) and then proceeded to offer me a multitude of excuses as to why it was taking so long and that he'd keep me informed. Finally, after not being informed yet again, I went ahead and chased some more. He surprisingly replied instantly this time to tell me that the property had been "removed from the market with no reasons from the landlord." Knowing this was a complete lie, I decided to visit the initial ad on Rightmove to discover that the property was now "Let Agreed" (posted by Hamptons) which leads me to believe he never even put my offer forward in the first place for whatever ulterior motive he may have had, so I lost out on my ideal flat with only 2 weeks remaining to find another one.
Overall, absolutely appalling service and will never deal with these guys again. How there is not more protection around this kind of misconduct is beyond me.

Their unresponsiveness has been quite disappointing. They are often unreachable and took several attempts to respond to my calls and emails. Despite requesting an appointment at least a week in advance and mutually agreeing on a specific time, they informed me of the cancellation just two hours before the scheduled meeting, citing the tenant's cancellation!
Thanks to Ines R. and all team as you embrassed me to my foreign friend who will leave in a few days ????
Definitely wouldn't expect such a behavior from Hamptons ????

From the initial marketing to the final completion, Hamptons Pimlico were nothing but professional, competent, knowledgeable and above all patient getting the sale across the line. The main team I worked with were all excellent. Like many house sales, it was complicated. But communications were always excellent. I would receive a call on a near day basis to keep me up to speed, they would return calls totally promptly and their realistic and pragmatic ability kept it all on track. But most of all they were just decent good people to work with.

Hamptons were the most professional agents we met with - and we did the rounds with nearly all of the local ones. Ed arrived with printed brochures for all the properties we viewed. It sounds like a small detail but it was invaluable as a reminder of the properties we had seen and also contained a floor plan. Purchasing our new home with Ines from the Hamptons Pimlico office was a good experience for us. Ines was professional, knowledgeable, she knew lots about the property we were buying and was flexible about us coming and seeing it before we exchanged and completed, making the time. She didn’t do pushy sales, which has put us off many properties in the past, but let us see and take in the property of our own accord and was there with a fountain of knowledge when we asked. The sales process was smooth and quick and all went to plan, which we hear is not the norm at the moment! We were really pleased with the service and experience and would definitely use this Hamptons branch again.

Hamptons Pimlico provided us with a great service in selling our house. Having prepared an excellent sales brochure, they kept us fully informed of planned viewings and the outcomes. They also showed sensitivity towards the needs of our tenants. After we had accepted an offer, the purchaser sought a price reduction, much to our frustration. It seemed that the deal would fall apart, but Sean Williams managed to find a compromise that was acceptable to both sides. There was an extended period between the date of the offer and exchange of contracts because we had to wait for our tenants to move out. Throughout this period Sean stayed in close contact with the purchaser, to maintain the purchaser's interest. Just before completion, Hamptons arranged for a clearance company to remove the furniture from the house. One item we wished to keep was a large gilt framed mirror, which we planned to store with friends. However, as they were away on holiday, Sean suggested that the mirror be stored in his office during the interim. This shows how Hamptons goes above and beyond for its clients.

For anybody thinking about taking up employment with Hamptons to work in there renewals department, don’t.
Employees are treated horribly.
The department manager and the renewals director oversee a work place that encourages bullying and provides zero support to women in the workplace.
The department manager sets unrealistic targets to individuals in an effort to single them out and force them to leave the company. This is often targeted towards women and staff are punished for having children.
Women are annihilated and when urgent childcare issues come to late it is compared to having a pet to look after.
The management are misogynistic and stuck in the 1950’s.

Kudos to Hamptons Pimlico and to William Jones on the work done to facilitate my tenancy, which was a complex undertaking due to the late sale of my house, lost opportunities, pandemic situation, holidays... William helped at all times, came with different options and kept me informed in detail through the whole process.

We have bought and now sold Pimlico flats through Ed Peers at Hamptons Pimlico for many years, and have just sold a flat in July2021. All understand that Estate Agents are there to explore exactly what the buyer and seller want or need to get a deal through, but many Agents can be distracted by the desire to keep the two parties happy with the Agent rather than the deal, so allow customers to hang on to unrealistic expectations and end up letting both sides down and taking too long to do it. Ed Peers has the experience to give good advice as to what is possible, communicate that efficiently without gloss, and thus shorten the whole process to either closing the deal, or not.

We recently when through the renewals process as a tenant in a property managed by Hamptons International (HI). We had the pleasure of working with Anna and the Landlord in negotiating a new two year lease on our beautiful flat that we would have been devastated to have to move out of! With one of us moving abroad and therefore off the lease, we had one place on the lease that we needed to fill. Unfortunately, we had a friend pull out of moving in at the last minute and needed to act quickly to ensure we were able to proceed with the renewal. Anna was polite, considerate, and incredibly understanding of the situation and was wonderfully supportive in communicating the situation to the Landlord to reach a great outcome for both the Landlord and us. Without being too much of a cliche, without Anna's support, we more than likely would have lost the renewal opportunity.
For those considering listing their property with HI, we would highly recommend Anna in the Pimlico office to manage the process. Neither I nor my flatmate have any association with HI beyond the tenancy and this is not a paid testimonial. We just feel that Anna's efforts deserve due recognition and we have no problem in recommending her! Thanks again Anna :)

Thanks for your response. While adding myself to a tenancy is a cumbersome process, it's somewhat understandable and not necessarily all your fault. What bothers me is that you respond faster to negative reviews on Google maps than when something is broken in the apartment. E.g. My girlfriend asked you to fix the carpets before she moved in - 8 months later they are still in the same state. Furthermore she asked you to fix the drainage and the heating a few weeks ago. Both are still broken so that the apartment now turned into an ice box that smells like sewage.

The previous Property Manager has now left but I had received exceptional service from him. April definitely reaches the same level. Any issues that occur in the apartment I can have piece of mind that this will be dealt with on time and in the best possible way. April responds back on the same day and provides detailed updates on the progress of the fix. She is one of the best Property Managers I have come across in the industry and I am sure she will excel further. William Rees-Povey was the sellers agent. We are Americans purchasing our first property in the UK. Purchasing a property in the UK versus the US is not better, not worse, just different. You would expect the sellers agent to help you until the "Keys are exchanged" because they want to complete the sale. William has gone above and beyond, He has continued to answer questions and give us advise now that we are the owners. If we were to sell the property, we would use William as our agent.

Over the 18 months of our tenancy, we were passed from person to person at Hamptons, each more incompetent than the last.
They offered us absolutely no support when our landlord reneged on our contract, or when he refused to return our deposit. Months of cajoling were needed to get simple works done. We were accused of underpaying our rent, when in fact their accounts team had forgotten (!) about a rent reduction we had been given -- and no apology was made when this was pointed out.
An appalling estate agent, employing appalling people.
Oh, and if Alexander Polonczyk is your property manager, get as far away as you can.
